Alexis: Have you heard anything from forensics?

Lucky: There's nothing conclusive yet.

Alexis: What about witnesses?

Lucky: Not so far.

Alexis: You know, somebody had to have seen something. There were plenty of people at the warehouse.

[Knock on door]

Ric: You got a second?

Alexis: You'll keep me posted?

Lucky: Sure.

Alexis: Thanks, Lucky.

Ric: How are you doing?

Alexis: As the D.A. or as Alexis?

Ric: Well, as the D.A., I know you're doing very well, especially with the media.

Alexis: Not really a hard sell. Nobody really wants to see a kid get shot. And truthfully, I don't think anyone should really rest too well until this case is solved.

Ric: How about Alexis?

Alexis: The girls slept in my bed last night. I didn't sleep. I worked on the internet for awhile. I went back to bed. I held them. I just want you to know that I don't want to live if anything ever happens to them.

Ric: Yeah, I didn't sleep much, either. I kept driving by the house.

Alexis: That was you? I thought that was one of Sonny's guards.

Ric: Look, I -- I've been thinking about how you would react to this and what I can do to help. I want you to do whatever it takes to protect both of the girls. I'll support you all the way.

Ric: You know, when I first heard about Michael, I knew that your worst fears had been realized. It started me thinking. I knew your first instinct would be to, you know, grab the kids and run.

Alexis: It was. It is, I want to run. But blind panic really isn't the way to make a life-altering decision. So I went on the internet and I scanned it all night looking for safe cities, good neighborhoods, good schools -- a place for me to establish a practice that's as far away from Sonny as possible.

Ric: Decided anything yet?

Alexis: Well, I searched everywhere between Seattle and Hong Kong. Iceland, Western Canada. I don't know.

Ric: Okay, well, wherever you decide to move, I want you to take Molly. I won't put up a fight.

Alexis: Thank you.

Ric: I mean, I'm going to visit her, but I just don't think it's a wise idea to keep her in Port Charles.

Alexis: When I think about Michael in the warehouse, bleeding -- all he wanted to do is spend some time with his father.

Ric: Yeah, well, we're not going to let that happen to our kids.

Alexis: You're making this a lot easier for me. Thank you.

Ric: Well, I'm not going to lie to you, Alexis. It's going to kill me to be separated from Molly, but at least I know that she'll be safe and happy with her mom.

Alexis: That's very generous. You know, it may turn out that we're fairly decent parents, after all.

Lucky: We know the bullet ricocheted. We just don't know who pulled the trigger.

Jerry: Sorry to interrupt. How are you holding up?

Alexis: We're in the middle of something.

Lucky: Did you call Jerry in for questioning?

Alexis: I didn't have to. He was with me when I got the call. It's a long story.

Jerry: I'll be glad to answer any questions.

Alexis: Will you call me when you hear from Sonny?

Lucky: Sure.

Jerry: You are awfully good at what you do.

Alexis: Why, thank you.

Jerry: How are you, really?

Alexis: You are the second man that's asked me that today.

Jerry: No more panic attacks?

Alexis: No, sorry. Sorry to disappoint you.

Jerry: There must be something I can do to help.

Alexis: Well, too late for that, really. Because the damage is already done. I mean, it was done the minute that I got pregnant with Sonny's kid. I knew what kind of man he was, and I knew what kind of life he led. And that's why I didn't tell him. And then he found out. And then everyone got to tell me how enmeshed and overprotective and crazy I was for trying to keep my daughter safe. So, having been brought to my knees and desperate I convinced myself that she'd be okay with him, that she'd be safe.

Jerry: You know, rationalizing --

Alexis: If you want to help me, if you really, really want to help me, call one of your nefarious connections and get me and my kids out of here.

Jerry: Where do you want to go?

Alexis: I don't care. Anywhere that Sonny's enemies aren't going to find us.

Jerry: Ah, well, I'm afraid there is no such place.

Alexis: Why won't you help me leave town? So I can stay here and flirt with you? Don't you think that's a bit narcissistic?

Jerry: Well, probably, but if Sonny's enemies decided to find you, they would. Modern technology has made it impossible to disappear for long.

Alexis: Well, it's too dangerous to stay here.

Jerry: Yes, but hiding out is dangerous, too. It creates the illusion of security.

Alexis: It's not an illusion that my daughter will be continents away from guns that are constantly pointed at her father's head.

Jerry: If Kristina decided to grow up and be as determined and independent as you are, she would insist on tracking Sonny down at some point. She'd come to Port Charles and she'd blame you for keeping her away from daddy.

Alexis: At least she'd be alive.

Jerry: Wouldn't it be better to help her understand the reality of the situation?

Alexis: Yeah, Sonny and Carly tried that with Michael.

Jerry: Oh, come on, they allowed Michael to buy into that gangster fantasy. But if you tell her the truth from the start, then --

Alexis: What do you want me to tell her? Do you want me to tell her that her daddy is a professional criminal and her mother is an idiot for sleeping with him?

Jerry: No, no -- just tell her that her father is a deeply flawed and dangerous man who loves her but wants to be a good father.

Alexis: Why do you even care?

Jerry: Because I like you, Alexis. Why wouldn't I want you to be happy?
