Alexis: Hey. Hi.

Sam: Hi!

Alexis: How are you?

Sam: Ooh! It's so good to see you.

Alexis: Same here.

Georgie: Hey. Are you two ordering?

Alexis: Oh, gosh. After all the French food I ate, I'm just going to have fruit and coffee, Georgie, thanks.

Georgie: Sounds great.

Sam: Okay. Just coffee, thank you.

Georgie: Okay.

Sam: Welcome home. How was Paris?

Alexis: It was great, it was nice. It was hot, it was August, so there was hardly anyone there, no lines.

Sam: Hmm.

Alexis: I have something that you're going to like. I brought you back something, so are you going to come see?

Sam: Yes, of course I will. I certainly will.

Alexis: Now, Kristina, you see, was old enough this time. When we went to the museums, I think she really kind of got some of it, and I hired a tutor to give her some sketch classes, and I know this is coming from me, but I think she really has some artistic flare.

Sam: Okay, that's good. I think she gets that from your side of the family.

Alexis: Yeah, right.

Sam: Um, I don't -- sorry to change the subject, but I don't suppose that you've spoken to Ric since you've been back?

Alexis: I'm going over there to see Molly right now.

Sam: Okay, then I don't know if you know that Ric's father, Trevor, is in town.

Alexis: Molly's grandfather is here?

Trevor: Molly, do you see who's home? Can you say "Daddy"?

Ric: Hi, sweetheart. Why don't you come see Daddy now, okay?

Trevor: No, no, no, we're just having a lot of fun, Ric. You know what I think? I think that my granddaughter and I should spend a whole lot more time together.

[Trevor chuckles]

Trevor: What's this?

Alexis: I called Ric twice a day to speak to Molly -- regardless of the time change -- he never mentioned one word about his father being here.

Sam: Okay, I'm -- I'm not exactly sure when Ric found out, if that means --

Alexis: Well, did you meet Trevor? What is he like?

Sam: He is your father-in-law.

Alexis: I've never met him, I don't know him. He's been estranged from Ric since I've known Ric. All I know is he's cold, he's distant, he never had any interest in Ric or the rest of his family. But, then again, knowing how Ric now distorts the truth, he's probably a perfectly nice guy.

[Alexis sighs]

Alexis: I hate the idea of Molly having to suffer through the dysfunctional family reunion.

Trevor: Look at you, look at --

Ric: Never been one for warm feelings towards children.

Trevor: That's because the child in my life was always so sullen and unappealing -- nothing like this little girl.

Ric: You know what? I think it's time for Molly's nap.

Trevor: Oh. Sally: If you don't mind my taking her?

Ric: No, it's fine. I just don't want her schedule disrupted.

Trevor: Bye-bye, tootsie.

Ric: Go ahead, sweetheart. I'll be in later.

Ric: Don't you ever come near my daughter again.

Trevor: Richard, you're not in any position to give orders. And if you don't change that attitude fast, you could lose that beautiful little girl -- for good.

Alexis: All right, we have to be very careful about how we do this because I doubt that Ric is handling the sudden appearance of his father in a very healthy way.

Sam: Okay, why don't you just explain that you want to protect Molly from an emotionally dysfunctional situation?

Alexis: "Explain"? We can barely stand to be in the same room with each other.

Sam: Okay, brace yourself -- Ric does have another reason to be on edge. You've heard of Anthony Zacchara, right?

Alexis: The mobster?

Sam: Yeah. Well, Zacchara may be moving into Port Charles to take over Sonny's business. Everyone is nervous, to say the least. I -- um -- I even hired a bodyguard.

Ric: I don't see you for 10 years, you suddenly drop out of the sky, and you think you're going to take my daughter?

Trevor: Oh, Richard, you know what I'm thinking? That Molly would be better off away from you.

Ric: You know what? You don't give a damn about your granddaughter other than the leverage that she provides you with.

Trevor: Come on, Richard, don't make any assumptions. I happen to think that Molly is a special child, and it would be totally irresponsible of me if I didn't try to protect her from your toxic influence.

Ric: Okay, listen closely. You will never take my child.

Trevor: Richard, I'm connected to some very important, influential people, and I will not hesitate to call old friends if I must.

Ric: You don't got a leg to stand on.

Trevor: Yeah. "My unbalanced son and his equally unbalanced paramour produced this beautiful little child."

Ric: No, see, Alexis and I were married when we had Molly.

Trevor: Yes, and she was an unfit mother, as you so ably proved in court. Unfortunately, sadly, you turned out to be just as bad. I, as the responsible grandfather, must plead for emergency guardianship.

Ric: What's it going to take to make you go away?

Trevor: Now you're talking. Your half brother is becoming a hindrance. Make it so that he cannot do business in Port Charles -- or anywhere else, for that matter.

Ric: It's not that easy.

Trevor: We're going to pass up a conversation about your ineptitude for another day. Suffice it to say, huh, if Sonny remains free, you're going to lose your little girl for good. It's that simple.

Alexis: I'm sorry, I should've called first, but I'm worried -- or, you tell me how worried I need to be about Kristina. And this -- this Zacchara person -- is he a threat?

Jason: Well, he -- yeah. I don't think Kristina is in danger, because she's connected to Ric, which also means she's connected to Trevor Lansing -- he's Zacchara's lawyer.

Alexis: Molly's grandfather is a part of this?

Diane: After the way I -- oh, what's the word? -- buried you at Jason Morgan’s trial, I am so curious as to what you could possibly have to say to me.

Ric: Well, you managed to convince a jury to free a guilty man -- that's reason to believe that you're good enough to accomplish what I need.

Diane: You -- are you serious? You want to hire me?

Ric: I need for you to go up against the most corrupt, connected man that I know.

Diane: I do "corrupt" and "connected" in my sleep.

Ric: Hmm.

Diane: So who's charging you, and with what?

Ric: My father has threatened to file for emergency guardianship of my daughter, Molly.

Diane: On what grounds?

Ric: Well, he needs leverage against me. If I don't cooperate with him, he's going to call in favors from some very important friends -- from the state supreme court, for example.

Diane: Does your father actually have a case against you to take your daughter?

Ric: No, Diane, but whatever he doesn't have on me, I'm sure he's going to fabricate. Look, I just need to protect my daughter, Molly. Now, you just tell me what you need to come onboard, I'll gladly write you a check right now.

Diane: I'm sorry, Ric, but family law is not my area of expertise -- but I will give you a piece of advice for free. If your father is as connected as you say he is, you've already lost.

Ric: You know Daddy loves you, don't you, sweetheart? And I will do anything in the world to make sure that you are loved and cared for and safe. I mean it, I'll do anything. You're the most important part of my life. Right? Kiss? Kiss?

[Knock on door]

Alexis: Hey! Hey, moll! Hi, sweetheart. I missed you so much. Hi, angel pie.

Ric: I didn't know when your plane landed.

Alexis: Hi. Sally? Will you do me a favor and take Molly in the other room just for one quick second so I can have a chat with her dad? I'll be right with you, sweetie, okay?

Ric: Here you go. Go -- go to sally.

Alexis: I'll be right there.

Ric: I love you. You know, I really appreciate you ordering my staff around. Thanks.

Alexis: I'll do whatever I feel is necessary for the well-being of my child. And when my ex-husband neglects to mention that his father is in town -- his father who happens to be the personal, private counsel to the mob --

Ric: It's not proven, okay?

Alexis: I'm sorry -- alleged personal, private counsel -- to a mob boss who is out to get Sonny, I think I'm positively even-tempered, considering that you never bothered to warn me.

Ric: Just check your messages.

Alexis: Are you insane? I mean, why expose her --

Ric: Check your messages, Alexis.

Alexis: I'll check my messages in a minute! I understand that you could be thrown off your game because your father's in town, but nothing -- nothing should take precedence over the safety of our daughter. Not your vendetta with Sonny, not your neurosis --

Ric: Check your messages!

Alexis: All right! I'll check my damn messages! I'm trying to make a point here. But I don't know if you heard one word that I've said. Ahem.

Ric's voice: Alexis, it's Ric. I think it's time that Molly came to live with her mother.
