Sam: I -- I guess it's time to be realistic and accept the fact that you and I really never got over what happened last summer. That night changed everything.

Jason: Sam, you're making this a bigger deal than it is. I mean, you were off doing your show, I've heard a million times from Amelia what bad P.R. I am. I get arrested for murder. I didn't think it would be good for your career, I --

Sam: So you just sat here in lockup?

Jason: Yeah. You know, Sonny and Carly -- they came by, and, you know, Diane's working overtime to try to get the judge to grant bail. I mean, there was just -- there was nothing you could do for me, you know?

Sam: But, Jason, I -- I could've been your moral support. Unless, of course, you're getting it somewhere else and you don't need it from me anymore.

Ric: What's this? Big TV star finally wake up and decide to cut her losses?

[Alexis overhears Ric taunting Sam about their night together even though there is no dialogue with Alexis in the following scene]

Ric: Hmm, "stand by your man" getting a little tedious, I guess, huh? Well, I can understand that. But why choose now to dump Jason -- unless you know that he's punched his clock and he's going away for a very long time? Or maybe your own future as celebrity of the moment is more appealing than wringing your hands over a known murderer.

Sam: Not that it's any of your business, but I'm not breaking up with Jason.

Ric: Well, he doesn't deserve your loyalty, then. Where was his, by the way, when you woke up from a coma and he promptly kicked you to the curb?

Sam: Shut up, Ric. Get out!

Ric: You know what? Tantrums may work on that set of yours, Sam. But around here in the justice system, my word is pretty much law. So unless you want me to kick you out on your everyday-heroic butt, you better come up with a real good reason as to why I should let you stay. Come on, I got a few minutes. As I fondly recall, it takes you a very short amount of time to heat up. Sam's voice: You are a disgusting pig. Ric's voice: Didn't stop you from doing me on your mother's living room floor, right? Which makes me wonder, how many other disgusting men have you slept with in order to get what you want?

Jax: Whoa. You ok?

Alexis: Uh -- I'm hyperventilating.

Jax: I'll get you a bag to breathe in.

Alexis: No, no, no -- I'm enjoying it. It makes me feel like everything is back to normal again.

Jax: Really?

Alexis: Yes.

Jax: What brought this on?

Alexis: Nothing. Nothing, really. I just -- I just walked into the PCPD and I just happened to hear Ric -- who left the intercom on in front of the whole police department listening in -- where he was talking to Jason and telling -- and reminding him about the time that he slept with Sam on my living room --

Jax: Oh.

Alexis: Floor.

Jax: Yeah, that's not easy to forget, is it?

Alexis: That's a good point -- and it's a good opportunity for me to remind you that this, too, could happen to you, because at any moment, you could walk in and find Carly, who's always --

Jax: Oh, Alexis, please.

Kate: Excuse me? Sorry. I don't mean to interrupt. Hi. Jax, I just wanted to thank you for comping my room -- you really don't have to.

Jax: No, it was my pleasure. It was the least I could do.

Kate: Hi. Sorry.

Alexis: Hi. You're Kate Howard -- I recognize you. You're the woman who put class back into clothing.

Kate: That's a lovely thing to say.

Jax: Kate, this is Alexis. She's my dear friend and also my favorite ex-wife.

Kate: So you two were married?

Alexis: Nice to meet you.

Kate: Ok, see, now, that -- that makes so much more sense.

Kate: Forgive me. I tend to speak without internal editing -- occupational hazard.

Alexis: You, too? And thank you, by the way, for the compliment. I really did enjoy being married to Jax -- he's quite charming, he's refined, he's witty --

Jax: Oh, thanks.

Alexis: He's a fabulous marriage partner. And then there's Carly.

Jax: Hey -- ok, you know what? You're both very lovely, but Carly's my wife, so I can't really participate in this conversation, ok?

Marty: Mr. Jacks?

Jax: Yes?

Marty: I need you for a moment.

Jax: Ah, perfect. Perfect timing. Excuse me.

Kate: He's very protective of her, isn't he?

Alexis: Not that Carly needs protecting.

Kate: I've noticed.

Alexis: You've met her?

Kate: Unfortunately.

Alexis: Welcome to my world.

Kate: Hmm.

Alexis: So, what brings you to town, ms. Howard, if you don't mind my asking?

Kate: No, actually, I was looking for some property in the country, I finally got around to it, and it turns out my house is right next door to Sonny Corinthos.

Alexis: I realize that we've just met, so there's really no reason for you to follow my advice, so I'm giving it to you in the spirit it's given -- from one who knows. Sell, now -- even at a loss.

Kate: I'm already considering it. I'm so sorry, I'm late. I have to run out to the site to get a delivery, but it was lovely meeting you.

Alexis: Same here.

Kate: Take care.

Alexis: And I like your suit.

Kate: Oh, thanks.

Alexis: And your purse.

[Kate laughs]

Jax: Well, well, well, you two seem awfully chummy. Should I even ask what that was about?

Alexis: I'm not going to lie to you -- I was doing my best to scare her off.

Alexis: Poor Kate Howard -- all that class and sophistication about to be bludgeoned by the nightmare that she's moved next door to.

Jax: Yeah, I have to agree. Sonny would not be a good neighbor to have.

Alexis: Hmm. Actually, if truth be told, when I lived across the hall from him -- aside from the bodyguards and the bombs -- he was actually tolerable. It was Carly who was --

Jax: Oh -- I know -- I know you want what's best for me, ok, but you're wrong about Carly. She's -- she's not nearly as bad as you make her out to be.

Alexis: Sorry.

Marty: Uh, Mr. Jacks? We just got a fax of the statue your wife ordered?

Jax: What statue?

Marty: I was hoping you could tell me.

Jax: Whoa.

Marty: I'm not really sure where it would go.

Jax: That is just --

Alexis: I rest my case.
