Epiphany:
When the labs are ready, I'll let you know.
James:
Ms. Davis needs a wheelchair.
Alexis:
No, I -- I don't, I'm all right.
James:
Will you sit down before Kristina finds you falling flat again?
Alexis:
That's not going to happen. Mr. Brosnan has an odd sense humor,
doesn't he?
Epiphany:
Sit in the wheelchair, Ms. Davis!
Alexis:
Yes, ma'am, I will.
Epiphany:
When did you fall?
Alexis:
It was -- I was -- yesterday, and I was fine afterwards, and I think
the problem is I just don't have my anti-nausea medication because
I left it over there.
Epiphany:
You're running a low-grade fever. I'm going to page Dr. Trent.
Alexis:
All right, well, thank you for driving us. Come with Mommy, honey.
Come on.
Epiphany:
No, that child cannot go into the exam with you. It's against hospital
policy and traumatic for her. She can wait here with the gentleman.
Alexis:
Mr. Brosnan just gave us a ride here; Kristina doesn't even know
him, so --
Epiphany:
Do you want to sit around and argue about this until you fall on
your face again?
Alexis:
Uh -- if you would watch her for a little bit, I'd really appreciate
it, and then I'll make some arrangements, okay? I'm just going in
to see the doctor; I'm going to be right back. Everything is fine,
okay? Big smile -- I'll be right back.
Epiphany:
Kristina, you're going to wait right here until Mommy gets back.
Do not go on the elevator, do not leave the area. Now, if you need
anything, ask me or the nurse at the desk. Do you understand? Okay.
Alexis:
Be right back, okay? Thank you.
Robin:
How are you feeling?
Alexis:
Let's see -- worried, mortified, exhausted, and as usual, on the
verge of throwing up.
Robin:
You don't get to be mortified when you're in chemo.
Alexis:
I do when my daughter and I get driven to the hospital in the middle
of the night by a mere stranger just for some dehydration. Dr. Trent
told me I needed to drink water. It's just really hard --
Robin:
And that's difficult with the nausea, right?
Alexis:
It is. I'm just going to have to be more persistent.
Robin:
Well, it's not easy being a patient -- I know from my recent experience.
Alexis:
Can you go check on Kristina? She's sitting out in the lobby with
this -- this new stranger, this Mr. Brosnan, and she just met him
two seconds ago.
Robin:
Mr. Brosnan's here?
James:
You see, baccarat/chemin de fer is essentially the same game, depending
where you play it -- it's only about the numbers. You understand?
So all the cards from Ace to 9 are at face value, meaning 2 is two,
3 is three, 4 is four. Now, the cards from 10 to King count for
zero. Now, the object of the game is to go to nine but not over
nine. You understand?
Kristina:
Yeah.
James:
And if two cards make nine, it's called a "natural" and
you can't lose. Isn't that wonderful? Okay, so here are your two
cards. There you go. Show them to me.
Kristina:
5 and 4 equals nine -- I won.
James:
Wow! Fantastic. Well done.
Patrick:
Kristina, what are you -- what are you doing here?
Kristina:
Learning how to play baccarat.
Patrick:
Wow, that's an interesting game to teach a child. I don't think
we've met -- Dr. Drake.
James:
[Southern accent] I'm pleased to meet you. Are you able to tell
me what Ms. Davis' condition is like?
Patrick:
She's -- she's not one of my patients. I'm a surgeon, not an oncologist.
I actually didn't know she was here. What happened?
James:
Oh, well, she dropped by and I gave her a ride.
Patrick:
Well, I'm glad you were around, Mr. --
James:
Brosnan. James Brosnan -- like the actor.
[James
chuckles]
Patrick:
Well, I'm glad you could help, Mr. Brosnan.
James:
Oh, no problem at all.
Patrick:
Have we met? There's something about you that seems familiar.
James:
Oh, really? I -- I suppose it's possible. I travel frequently on
business, you know?
Robin:
Dr. Drake, I have an update on Ms. Davis.
James:
Oh, she is all right, Doctor?
Robin:
Yes.
James:
Oh, good, good.
Patrick:
Wow -- dabbling in oncology now.
Robin:
If you'll excuse us?
James:
Oh, certainly. Nice to meet you, Dr. Drake.
Patrick:
Yeah.
Robin:
Since when do you needle me in front of my patients?
Patrick:
There's no patient.
Robin:
You're being ridiculous and petty, and you're making us both look
bad. I mean, you already embarrassed me in front Epiphany, and now
you're snarking at me in front of a patient's family? If you don't
get your adolescent behavior under control, I will report you to
Human Resources.
Patrick:
What happened to you?
Kristina: Why were you talking funny?
Robin:
Leave this hospital immediately.
James:
Shouldn't a doctor be calm, grace under pressure -- that sort of
thing?
Robin:
You know what? Your arrogance is going to get you caught.
James:
[Southern accent] Oh, and where would that leave poor Nikolas?
Robin:
Patrick is a smart man. Your stupid accent won't fool him.
James:
[Normal voice] I think Patty boy is a little distracted because,
you see, you've broken his heart.
Robin:
You know what? Emily and Elizabeth both work here. Carly is around
here a lot, and so are a lot of people that you held hostage that
night. If any one of them recognizes you, your plan will fall apart.
James:
I'm really touched by your concern. I'm sure Nikolas will be, too.
I wonder what he's doing. Hmm -- did I give him the counteragent?
I can never remember these things.
Robin:
Get out.
James:
Kristina -- hey. Dr. -- You're going to stay with Dr. Robin while
your mommy comes back, okay? Thank you for being such a nice partner.
Okay? Bye.
[Southern
accent] Bye, Doctor.
Robin:
Hi. How are you doing?
Kristina:
What -- what, are you sick?
Robin:
No. No, no, no. Why would you think that?
Kristina:
Because your hands are shaking just like Mommy's do.
Robin: No. Here.
Alexis:
Hey. Where's Mr. Brosnan?
Robin:
Uh -- I had some time to sit with Kristina, so I sent him back to
Wyndemere.
Alexis:
So much for chivalry.
Robin:
Uh, if you'd like, I could give you and Kristina a ride home.
Alexis:
Thank you, Robin, I'd really appreciate that.
Robin:
Okay, I will get you signed out and meet you guys downstairs.
Alexis:
Thanks, Robin.
Robin:
Mm-hmm.
Alexis:
And thank you, Epiphany.
Epiphany:
You're welcome.
Alexis:
So, was everything okay while you were waiting?
Kristina:
Yeah, Mr. Brosnan is a nice guy, and he -- and he can speak in different
voices.
