Carly:
You have got to be kidding me.
Jax:
Well, what did you expect, Carly -- for me to be sitting in the
dark here waiting for you to come back to me?
Carly:
Well, I definitely didn't expect to find this, Jax!
Jax:
Well --
Alexis:
Ever since we were married, we've had a very close connection.
Jax:
Yes, including the current one. You know, it's an interesting parallel
-- I'm here with Alexis and you're with Sonny.
Carly:
Great, so what's that -- an ex for an ex?
Alexis:
Well, Sonny's not your ex -- technically. I mean, he's still your
husband.
Jax:
Yeah, which is another interesting question -- how do you think
Sonny would feel about you letting yourself into my apartment to
do what exactly? Why are you here?
Carly:
I was crazy think that after we slept together and you left the
door open for reconciliation that you'd want to work things out.
My mistake.
Jax:
Hey, hey, you know what? You're the one that wanted a strictly professional
relationship. I'm just trying to honor that.
Carly:
Yeah, by sleeping with Alexis, huh?
Jax:
Oh, it shouldn't matter who I sleep with -- right? I mean, you're
the one that said it's over between us and --
Carly:
You are just trying to get back at me for what happened with sonny!
Why don't you admit it, Jax?
Jax:
You know, I -- I understand that you have a little different take
on life than most, but marrying a man, then sleeping with him while
engaged to another, is generally a valid reason for taking offense.
Carly:
Ok! What's this?
Alexis:
I just needed a little T.L.C., which Jax was all too happy to provide
-- with great enthusiasm, I might add.
Carly:
Spare me the details. You guys are pathetic -- you deserve each
other.
Jax:
Thanks for playing along.
Alexis:
All right. Well, that was fun. It was also very informational.
Jax:
Really? How so?
Alexis:
Because if Carly can be jealous of me, now, in this wig, "A",
she must be very insecure, but, she must really love you.
Alexis:
What do you think?
Jax:
Well, more importantly, what do you think?
Alexis:
I like this. I do.
Jax:
Yeah?
Alexis:
This is -- I feel good in this. You have good taste.
Jax:
Well, at least I'm good for something.
Alexis:
You know, you didn't have to have the boutique send me something.
I was fine in the robe.
Jax:
Well, I wasn't going to have you ride home in damp clothes. Your
immune system is weak enough as it is, which is why I don't want
you to leave here with just popcorn and wine in your stomach. I
got you something real to eat.
Alexis:
Hmm.
Jax:
So come on, sit down, and then when you're done, I'll have my driver
take you home, ok?
Alexis:
You're an incredible man, you know that?
Jax:
It's the least you deserve, you know that?
Alexis:
As fun as this is -- all of it -- the longer I stay up here, the
angrier Carly's going to get.
Jax:
Well, I certainly hope so.
Alexis:
You don't have any dessert, do you?
Jax:
I have creme brulee or chocolate fudge cake.
Alexis:
Mmm. Both, please.
Jax:
Both?
Alexis:
I haven't had an appetite in a long time. I'm taking advantage of
this.
Jax:
You know, I'm just glad that you're handling this rod of chemo better
than the last.
Alexis:
Today is a particularly good day.
Jax:
Yeah --Last year was not good, you know? The cancer and the chemo.
Alexis:
The chemo was the piece-of-cake part. I'm going to write a book
-- "How to Survive Everything At Once."
Jax:
A new bestseller.
Alexis:
You think?
Jax:
Absolutely. I'd read it.
Alexis:
I sometimes wonder what would have happened if I had confronted
Ric right from the beginning -- if this thing wouldn't have spiraled
out of control, if I had been honest, instead of rationalizing myself
into this emotional quagmire.
Jax:
Hey, you are more than holding your own.
Alexis:
That's because I have good friends. And because you are my good
friend, I want you to be happy. So happy that in spite of the fact
that you know that I think you deserve somebody better than Carly
-- it's my choice, not yours.
Jax:
Ok, I should probably go get us some dessert.
Alexis:
The dessert can wait. The truth can't.
Jax:
I'm just --
Alexis:
You need to go down there and tell her how you feel. Otherwise,
she's going to sit down there and think that you and I are actually
having an affair. And then she's going to run back to Sonny and
this time, he ain't going to let her go.
Jax:
Oh.
