Alexis:
You know who those men are and you know why they stormed that building
and I want you to tell me what is going on.
Lorenzo:
I don't know what you're talking about.
Alexis:
How many people are going to die because of your greed? Not going
to be my nephew and my daughter, I'll tell you that much.
Lorenzo:
You just leave me alone.
Alexis:
Then tell me how to stop them!
Russell:
Get away from my patient or I'll call the police.
Skye:
Both of you need to leave. You're upsetting Lorenzo.
Alexis:
He has information that could get those hostages released. One of
those hostages happens to be the man you think of as your father.
Lorenzo:
Your father is one of the hostages?
Russell:
I mean it. I'll call the cops and I will press charges.
Alexis:
He's stonewalling. He doesn't care who dies.
Lorenzo:
I don't know anything about a briefcase.
Russell:
Wait for me outside. You're recovering from major surgery. You lie
still and you relax.
Alexis:
I hope you understand that I may be on leave of absence, but I'm
still the District Attorney --
Russell:
I don't care who you are. Traumatizing a patient in intensive care
qualifies as assault.
Alexis:
Well, then, I would say arrest me, but unfortunately, they're all
busy dealing with the hostage situation, which is a situation that
was created, by the way, by your patient and his criminal activities.
Russell:
Now, sit down before you fall down. Come on.
Alexis:
This is absolutely absurd. I don't need to be admitted as a patient.
Russell:
Have the head nurse hook Mrs. Davis up to an I.V. with leads and
patches.
Alexis:
This is overkill -- it's what it is. I was dizzy for a minute --
that's it. That happens.
Russell:
Especially when undergoing chemotherapy.
Alexis:
And I thought my wig was so natural.
Russell:
You're probably dehydrated. It's a common side effect.
Alexis:
I can't do this. My daughter and my nephew are being held hostage.
I don't have time to sit in a hospital bed.
Russell:
Make time. You put this gown on, you let me run tests. Otherwise,
I'll have you strapped to this bed and admitted for a psychiatric
observation.
Russell:
I spoke to your oncologist, Dr. Trent, and he tells me you had adverse
reaction to chemotherapy and a history of secondary infections.
Alexis:
I'm all too familiar with the way that makes me feel, which is why
I can be certain that that's not what i have right now.
Russell:
That's what the tests will determine.
Alexis:
I'm sure you're very qualified in your field, but honestly, I know
my body. I don't have a secondary infection, I don't need to be
admitted to the hospital.
Russell:
Mrs. Davis, with all due respect, you know nothing about your own
condition.
Alexis:
You're right -- I don't know anything about the cancer I've been
living with for --
Russell:
Preliminary tests show that you are dehydrated.
Alexis:
I'm fine! I'll drink water, I'll drink lots and lots of water right
there.
Russell:
Mrs. Davis?
Alexis:
I'll drink it, scout's honor.
Russell:
You will spend the night on an I.V. drip, and we will --
Alexis:
I have to go home! I have two small children waiting.
Russell:
I'm assuming you didn't leave them alone?
Alexis:
No, I left them with a nanny.
Russell:
Good. Then she can explain how their mommy chose between one night
now as opposed to three weeks sometime later. I'm sure your children
will be glad you chose the lesser of two evils.
Skye:
I hope you have a fortune in malpractice because you're going to
need it after the way you butchered Lorenzo.
Patrick:
Is he experiencing side effects?
Skye:
Oh, it's just like your father said. He's -- he's disoriented, he's
emotional. It didn't help when alexis showed up demanding answers.
Good thing she fainted when she did or god knows what would've happened.
Ric:
Wait, wait. Alexis fainted?
Skye:
Yeah, the doctor dragged her out of Lorenzo's I.C.U. and put her
in a wheelchair.
Ric:
Well, was she hospitalized?
Skye:
I don't know and I don't care! I was focused on the father of my
child, the man you couldn't give proper care to because you rushed
off to see Robin.
Alexis:
This isn't how it looks.
Ric:
I heard you collapsed.
Alexis:
No, I -- I was here at the hospital trying to getanswers from Alcazar,
and an overzealous doctor dragged me out of the room, pushed me
off balance, forced me into a wheelchair, and admitted me into the
hospital.
Ric:
Hmm. He obviously has you in here foa reason.
Alexis:
I'm fine. He just won't admit that, so he says that I'm dehydrated.
Ric:
Alexis, you are still --
Alexis:
I'm in the process of regaining my strength, and I am feeling better
ever day.
Ric:
Ok, great, good. Could you stop covering for a minute and putting
up a brave front? You need to take it easy or you're going to have
a relapse.
Alexis:
What advice are you going to give me, Ric? You going to tell me
to request a continuance for the custody hearing? Is that what lends
weight to your argument that I'm not strong enough to take care
of Molly? I mean, you're already citing me for possession of illegal
drugs. I'm going to tell you right now, I'm not giving you any more
leverage to use against me.
Ric:
Ok, Alexis, could you stop hating me long enough to let me help
you?
Ric:
I am not taking custody of Molly to punish you.
Alexis:
Of course not. You're doing me a big fat favor.
Ric:
Alexis, she's my daughter. I love her. You know I can give her a
good home.
Alexis:
She's very happy in the home that she's in now.
Ric:
All right, we've -- we've already been through the reasons why I'm
doing this. Could you just take a step back for a second --
Alexis:
No! Because this is insane. She should be in her home with her sisters.
Ric:
Ok, fine, we'll let the courts decide that. In the meantime, there's
no reason for you to push yourself to a collapse or endanger --
Alexis:
I am not going to collapse. I'm going to
fight you with every fiber in my being.
Ric:
Really?
Alexis:
Really.
Ric:
You are at the end of your reserves, Alexis. I don't want to fight
you on this. Petition for a continuance, or I swear to you, I'll
do it for you.
Russell:
Get out.
Ric:
Alexis and I are trying to have a discussion, doctor, thank you.
Russell:
You're upsetting my patient.
Ric:
Well, your patient is my soon-to-be ex-wife. Why don't you give
me an update on her condition?
Russell:
I can't give a patient's information without their consent. You
can discuss that with Alexis at some other time. Right now, you
are leaving. Unless, of course, you'd prefer to be thrown out.
Ric
leaves
Alexis:
That's the first useful thing you've done all night.
Russell:
You're responding well to the I.V., the drip. If you stay quiet
and relaxed, you'll be home in the morning.
Alexis:
Do I have a choice?
Russell:
Would you like something to eat?
Alexis:
No, no. That anti-nausea medicine isn't working any better than
the last one.
Russell:
All you want is to stop the feeling of having to throw up.
Alexis:
You sound like the voice of experience.
Russell:
My wife had ovarian cancer. She didn't respond well to the chemo.
And the only thing that gave her a little relief, unfortunately,
was illegal. Otherwise, I'd prescribe it immediately.
Alexis:
Your wife smoked pot to deal with the chemo?
Russell:
It gave her a little relief, for which I am eternally grateful.
Alexis:
Good. How is she now?
Russell:
She died six months ago.
