[Alexis
sighs]
Alexis
gets up to get some weed; Viola enters with Molly and Kristina
Alexis:
Hey.
Sonny:
I'm here to meet the D.A. My lawyer's meeting me.
Officer:
Oh, yeah, you'll find them in the interrogation room.
Ric:
You do not leave ms. Davis' house without photographic evidence.
Do you understand me? Ok. I want you to check in every couple of
hours.
Ric:
We have reports of after-hours activity around Alcazar's warehouses
-- a clash between your thugs and his.
Sonny:
I don't have thugs.
Ric:
I -- I get the sense that you hijacked some of his goods and that
Alcazar was retaliating.
Diane:
Yes, well, your "sense" doesn't carry any weight in a
court of law. We are here to discuss the specious charges against
my client, not play "guess what."
Ric:
Huh. Well, Ms. Miller, if all the criminals walked in here and confessed
to their crimes, then "guess what" wouldn't be such an
integral part of my investigations. Now, I'm simply trying to stop
the unrest with mr. Alcazar from escalating into a full-blown mob
war.
Sonny:
Right. While you're at it, Ric, could you maybe try to stop him
from coming into my office and pulling a gun on me and shooting
me? Oh, I'm sorry -- you can't, can you, because he's calling all
the shots now. He owns you.
Ric:
Huh. That's an interesting theory, Sonny. I'm sorry, I thought that
Alcazar was unconscious in a hospital room with a bullet wound in
his head, and it was my job as the D.A. to prosecute the perpetrators
of that crime.
Diane:
You are wasting our time with these baseless accusations, and they
are completely irrelevant to the matter at hand.
Ric: Well,
they'll become completely relevant in a custody hearing -- when I
combine Sonny's dangerous lifestyle with Alexis' negligent behavior.
Alexis:
I think it's time for you guys to get going.
Viola:
Well, Kristina was just saying that the purple top doesn't quite
go with the turquoise pants.
Alexis:
Oh, well, you know what? I -- I think you made an excellent fashion
choice, my dear. Uh, sweetie, why don't you guys get going, because
I think it -- uh -- the indoor pool closes early on fridays.
Viola:
Early? That must be new.
Alexis:
Uh -- must be. So you guys should get going, huh, right? Have a
good time? Sweetie, I know that I -- I said that I would put this
together, and I promise you it will be set up by the time you get
back. Deal? Deal. Ok.
Viola:
Let's say goodbye to mommy. Bye, mommy.
Alexis:
Have fun. I love you. Love you, love you. Bye-bye.
Kristina:
Peace out.
Alexis:
Peace out. You, too. I wish I could go with you, honey. I love you.
Alexis:
Oh.
Alexis
is frustrated because she can't put Kristina's toy together. She
goes outside for a smoke, where a photographer takes compromising
photos of her smoking.

Sonny:
Hey, Ric, I don't know what you mean by "negligent." Alexis
is still fighting for her life, and unless there's something I don't
know about that --
Diane:
No.
Sonny:
No.
Diane:
No, we've already established the D.A.'s musings are pointless.
Ric:
No, we've established that my daughter shares a home with Sonny's
daughter. The danger that surrounds him contributes to the unsafe
environment that unfortunately affects my daughter, Molly. Now,
I have newspaper clippings, I have arrest reports that support my
claim.
Diane:
My client has never been proven guilty.
Ric:
And this is not a criminal proceeding here. All I have to do is
prove endangerment and willful negligence on Alexis' part. Alexis
is not well enough to really take care of Molly, and viola is not
her mother. Alexis should be grateful -- I'm giving her relief.
Sonny:
Where are all your character witnesses to sing your praises, Ric?
You think you'd be able to match them with all the people that are
going to line up to support Alexis?
Ric:
You know what, Diane?
Sonny:
Huh?
Ric:
I don't know if you're aware of this, but a couple of years ago,
your client here was in the same situation that I find myself, and
that is fighting for custody of my daughter with Alexis. Now, you
listen to me. I love my daughter --
Sonny:
Mm-hmm.
Ric:
And I have every right to have her part of my life. And that custody
judge is going to uphold those rights when I prove that I can provide
a safe and more stable environment for Molly.
Sonny:
No, the judge is going to see you as a crooked D.A. who's going
after a cancer-stricken mother, and you know that, Ric.
Ric:
That's ok. I got all my bases covered, Sonny, because I got a thorough
investigation of Alcazar underway. And I'm going to show how you
drag innocents -- like my daughter, like your own children -- into
the danger that surrounds you every single day. But, hey, why don't
you lay it out for me different? What shipment is so valuable that
you're willing to risk so many lives? What, exactly, is coming into
this town?
Alexis:
Mmm!
Viola:
Hey.
Alexis:
My best girls are home! Did you have a good time?
Viola:
We had a great time.
Alexis:
Hmm? Hmm. Hello, sweetheart.
Kristina:
Mommy, it's almost ready!
Alexis:
I told you I would get it done for you. I'm a mommy of my word,
eh? If you guys want to go get changed, we can all play the little
jungle game, and you can be the tiger and I'm going to be the parrot,
ok?
Kristina:
What about Molly?
Alexis:
She can be the monkey.
[Viola
giggles]
Alexis:
They don't have to talk too much anyway. And we can save the animals
from being captured by the poachers. Because if anyone can preserve
the rainforest, I think the Davis girls can.
Kristina:
You must be feeling better, aren't you, Mommy?
Alexis:
I'm feeling much better, cookie.
Kristina:
Ok.
Alexis:
Oh!
Jason:
Ric dropped the charges?
Sonny:
Ric's going to use this Alcazar shooting to the bitter end, because
he's got no case. So he has me sitting there through this pretrial
conference, while he's throwing a tantrum about his, you know, custody
hearing with Alexis. He's trying to use me to prove that she's an
unfit mother.
Jason:
Oh, because he's such a standup guy, right?
Sonny:
Yeah, exactly, but you know what? Something Ric said got me thinking.
So I went to go see Alcazar.
Ric:
Judge Hunter? Yeah, it's Ric Lansing. Sir, I would like to meet
with you before my custody hearing, ex parte. Well, something has
come up that will have a significant impact on your decision.

[Knock
on door]
Officer:
Ms. Davis, we have a warrant to search your residence.
Alexis:
For what?
Officer:
Will you let us in?
Alexis:
I'd like to see if that warrant is signed by a judge.
Officer:
It's all in order.
Officer:
Ms. Davis, you're under arrest.
