"Are You Saying that you Believe Him Over Me?"

Ric: Where the hell do you get off threatening my wife?

Sonny: Hey, hey, hey, whoa.

Max: Not now, bad time.

Ric: No, I'm sorry, this is important, Max.

Sonny: Max, Max -- you can go, you can go, it's ok.

Max: You sure?

Sonny: My brother's -- he's upset, and I want to find out what he's so upset about.

Max: I'll be outside.

Sonny: Uh -- Ric, who says I threatened Alexis?

Ric: She did. Look, she said she came over here, Sonny, to question you about Juan Escobar and some incident that you had at Rinaldi's -- something I wasn't aware of -- in performance of her job, not to harass you.

Sonny: So what?

Ric: "So what?"

Sonny: I don't --

Ric: "So what?" She said that you flipped out, Sonny. You told her that it didn't matter that the two of you shared a child with one another. That if she didn't back off, that you were going to deal with her the way you dealt with every other D.A. before her -- I believe the words you used were "make her disappear." What's that about?

Sonny: Oh, you know what? I'm so sorry, Ric. I thought that Alexis and I had managed to get to, you know, a pretty decent place. I didn't know that she hates me so much to make up something like that.

Ric: You and I have been getting along, I'd like for that to continue, so --

Sonny: Ok.

Ric: I want to understand. So why don't you tell me, what do you think happened?

Sonny: Well, it's the same thing always happens. Alexis -- you know, we don't agree on things and -- no, no, I'm sorry. This time it was different because she was acting in her new official capacity as D.A.

Ric: Well, because she was questioning you about the whole incident with Juan Escobar and the fact that you hit him in the head with a wine bottle in the middle of his own restaurant.

Sonny: Is that what she told you? Oh -- what's up, Ric? Come on. You guys got nothing better to do in bed than to, you know, talk about me? What, things are going on and stuff?

[Sonny sighs]

Ric: Ok, if that much of the story is true, then why shouldn't I believe what --

Sonny: Ok, wait, wait, wait, hold on, hold on, hold on. You are -- you're my attorney, ok? There's only so much you can be privy to. All you need to know is that there were some loose ends that I needed -- you know, I needed to tie up from when I was in charge. And I did it. I paid the damage. As a matter of fact, come tax time, we can probably write that off as a business expense. That was a joke. It's not funny? Ok.

Ric: Oh. No, no.

Sonny: Well, you know what? You -- you, Max, and Milo -- you guys are too serious all the time. You got to lighten up. Ok, anyway, look, as far as Alexis, let me tell you something. She came in asking the same questions, you know, and I did the usual stonewalling, and then she starts spouting off about the "everybody in my life -- you know, in my lifestyle is going to get hurt," nothing new under the sun. Now, how she got from that to me threatening her life, I don't know. You tell me.

Kristina: Mommy, I like this new house.

Alexis: Oh, I'm so glad. Ooh, that makes me so happy. You know what? I think we're going to be very happy here. That's what I think.

Ric: Hey. Pumpkin. Oh, hey, come here.

Ooh, how you doing?

Kristina: Daddy Ric, we're moving in!

Ric: Yeah? It's pretty exciting, huh? Hey, listen, I just came from your Daddy's house, and he said that he missed you and sends love and kisses, and he would like to see you next week, maybe, if you want to have a visit.

Alexis: Kristina -- uh -- could you do mommy a favor? Can you give Viola the -- this?

Ric: Go ahead, babe.

Alexis: Thanks.

Kristina: Yeah.

Alexis: (to Kristina) Good job. You're a good helper. Hurry up! (to Ric) Have you lost your mind?

Ric: Not the last time I looked.

Alexis: If you think that I'm handing Kristina over to a man who threatened to kill me, you're as insane as your brother.

Ric: Yeah, you see, Alexis, that's the thing. Sonny didn't know what you were talking about.

Alexis: Are you saying that you believe him over me?

Alexis: I must've missed the part where you started taking Sonny's word over mine.

Ric: No, I'm just trying to understand what went on.

Alexis: I told you -- he threatened to have me disappear. How hard is that to understand?

Ric: Ok, touchy-subject alert here -- you two do have a history of misconstruing each other's intentions.

Alexis: Yes, I know -- I'm an hysteRical woman. We all are.

Ric: Alexis, I looked in the man's eyes. He had no idea why you accused him of trying to kill you.

Alexis: Because he did. Do you want me to tell you the whole thing all over again?

Ric: I would appreciate it if you would, ok? Like I told Sonny, I'm just trying to understand.

Alexis: I went to Sonny's house to talk to him, he was fine, he was polite. Then all of a sudden, out of blue, he just snapped. He said, "I don't give a damn that you're the mother of my child, I will do away with you --" "I will have you disappear," was his quote -- "like I would any other D.A." And I have to tell you, being at the receiving end of that king of rage was frightening and it still is. And now it's my turn to not give a damn about him being Kristina's father, because I'm not giving Kristina access to a man who continues to threaten my life.

Ric: Ok, this is where I start to have a problem with all this.

[Alexis sighs]

Ric: Look, there's no way -- there was so much emotion going on in the room, I have no way of knowing what really happened because I wasn't there!

Alexis: Well, maybe you'll be convinced when they lay flowers on my grave.

Ric: Oh, come on.

[Knock on door]

Alexis: Oh -- ah! Perfect timing.

Man: Are you Alexis Davis?

Alexis: I am.

Ric: I -- I --

Alexis: Oh, here. Hold on one second. Thank you. Ordinarily, I would be thrilled --

Ric: No, it's not from me. "Very sorry for the misunderstanding. Happy housewarming. I've got a good architect if you need one. Regards, Sonny."
