"I
will Treat you Like any other D.A. -- Have you Thrown out on your
Butt, Locked up for Corruption, or Even Disappear!"
Sonny:
The length of the property that faces the lake needs to be redesigned
and relandscaped. I want construction to start by the end of next
week. How soon can you draw up the plans?
Architect:
The plans are one thing, but I'm going to need more time. We have
to find a contractor, secure the proper permits.
Sonny:
Oh, we don't have to worry about permits because I got associates
who, you know, are in the construction business --
Architect:
Right.
Sonny:
You know what I mean? So we don't have to worry about that. We just
need somebody who -- an architect --
Max:
Miss Davis is here.
Sonny:
Ok, I'm just right -- I'm in a meeting.
Alexis:
This needs to take priority. We need to discuss your alleged incident
with Juan Escobar.
Architect:
I'll have preliminary sketches ready for your review in the next
48 hours.
Sonny:
I'd be happier with 36.
Architect:
I'll do my best.
Sonny:
Can you do better than your best?
Alexis:
Sudden urge to remodel?
Sonny:
Well, since Jason took my business, I'm free to concentrate on things
I've been putting off. Why does the new D.A. care? In other words,
why are you here?
Alexis:
Always amazes me how awkward things are between us. It's hard to
remember that they were ever easy, but they were, and our daughter
is living proof of that. No one can say that our life isn't absurd.
I mean, who could imagine that you would be intimately involved
with my long-lost, presumed-dead daughter?
Sonny:
Why the stroll down memory lane?
Alexis:
Just trying to make a connection for a minute. No big deal. Why
don't we just deal with the situation at hand?
Sonny:
Ok.
Alexis:
Yeah. Then we agree.
Sonny:
Well, I might if I knew, you know, what the hell you're talking
about.
Alexis:
Sonny, I'm the new D.A. If you screw up, I'm going to have to prosecute
you no matter how much I don't want to rock the domestic boat.
Sonny:
But you know what? You're talking like I did something wrong, Alexis.
Alexis:
Word has it that you walked into a restaurant and you swung a wine
bottle at Juan Escobar's head.
Sonny:
Uh -- you know, you can't believe, you know, everything you hear.
You should know that.
Alexis:
Ric assured me that yohad given up the business. Your sudden enthusiasm
to remodel seems to bear that out. My god, what were you thinking?
Why were you attacking Escobar? If -- if you want to go legit, do
it. If not, have the decency to claim your life and save Emily and
Kristina the pain --
Sonny:
You know what? Screw you.
Alexis:
I won't let you, allow you, to speak to me that way.
Sonny:
You're not going to allow me to do anything because you have no
authority over me here, no power over me here! And if you don't
keep your mouth shut, stay out of my business, I
will treat you like any other D.A. -- have you thrown out on your
butt, locked up for corruption, or even disappear! And
I don't want to hear "I'm the mother of your daughter"
crap.
Max:
Boss --
Sonny:
Wait a minute! I'm not done!
Max:
Do you want me to show miss davis out right now or --
Sonny:
Get her out of here! Get her out -- get her out of here now!
Jason:
Yeah, Richie, what?
Richie:
D.A. Davis and Detective Rodriguez.
[Jason
sighs]
Jason:
What can I do for you?
Det. Rodriguez: We're here to investigate a shooting.
Jason:
I don't know about any shooting.
Det. Rodriguez: Really? From here, it looks like you were the intended
victim.
Jason:
That -- that -- the window broke. I think -- I think it was a rock.
Det. Rodriguez: Well, that's some rock, to hit the 15th floor.
Jason:
Yeah.
Alexis:
Do you deny that you were some sniper's target?
Jason:
How -- how would I know that?
Det. Rodriguez: It's standard operating procedure for mr. Morgan to stonewall
police questioning.
Alexis:
It's also a way to be charged with obstruction, Jason. Are you acquainted
with Juan Escobar?
Jason:
Sure, we've met.
Alexis:
Have you seen him recently?
Jason:
Uh -- hmm. I can't recall.
Alexis:
Have you seen him in the last 24 hours?
Jason:
I don't remember that, either.
Det. Rodriguez: Maybe this'll refresh your memory. See, we received reports
that Sonny corinthos showed up at Escobar's restaurant yesterday.
Yeah, he walked in cool as you please. Grabbed a wine bottle, went
upside Escobar's head with it.
Jason:
And?
Det. Rodriguez: Word is, Sonny was taken down by Escobar's men. They
were about to beat him to death, until you and two goons showed
up and pulled Sonny out of there.
Jason:
Hmm.
Det. Rodriguez: Any of that sound familiar? I mean, we can take you downtown
for a lineup.
Jason:
That's fine. Let me just call my lawyer.
Alexis:
Well, that won't be necessary. There's really no point. All the
witnesses have disappeared. Well done. Your warning scared him off,
just as you intended.
Det. Rodriguez: Where were you at 10:00 A.M.?
Jason:
Uh -- I was here.
Det. Rodriguez: Did anybody see you?
Jason:
Yeah, guards.
Det. Rodriguez: Hmm. No doubt they'll testify to that.
Jason:
Why wouldn't they? It's the truth.
Det. Rodriguez: In other words, your alibi is tight, right? You left
no evidence to implicate you in Escobar's murder. Escobar's dead,
you killed him, and it's going to go down as unsolved. What else
is new?
Alexis:
I share your frustration, Detective. But we have no solid evidence,
so we have no further questions for mr. Morgan at this time. I'll
meet you outside. I'd like to have a moment with Jason for a --
thank you. Congratulations. You've literally gotten away with murder.
Which is exactly why you shouldn't be with Sam.
Alexis:
Sam? Hey, Sam? You in there?
Alexis:
Hey, Epiphany, did they take Sam down for some tests?
Epiphany:
She wasn't scheduled for any. She's supposed to be in her room.
Alexis:
Maybe she went for a walk?
Epiphany:
Oh, it's too soon. Walking around now could put Sam's life at risk.
[Knock
on door]
Jason:
Hold on. You know what, stan? Let me call you right back.
Sam:
Um -- I forgot my keys.
