"She
is Going to Become so Obsessed with Alexis
that She Will Destroy her Life"
Carly:
Hey. Is Sam around?
Jason:
There's a question you've never bothered to ask before, Carly. What
is going on?
Carly:
Nothing. I just came by here last night, Sam wasn't here, and I
saw the college books and brhures laying around.
Jason:
Yeah, she's -- she's thinking about taking some college classes,
yeah.
Carly:
Then going on to be a lawyer?
Jason:
Maybe.
Carly:
What? I'm just saying it's the last thing you'd expect. You know,
Sam of all people suddenly deciding to become a lawyer? Almost like
it's in her blood.
Jason:
Carly --
Carly:
Sam is Alexis' daughter. Wow. Oh, man.
[Carnival
music plays]
Kristina:
I could do that.
Alexis:
You could do that? I'm going to buy you some of that -- that's pretty
cool.
Kristina:
Oh, look here, Mommy.
[Alexis
gasps]
Alexis:
Do you want to go see? Come on.
Sam
comes from around a bush and watches Alexis and Kristina.
Ric:
Enjoying the view?
Sam:
Um -- I was just passing through, actually.
Ric:
Like yesterday at the Metro Court? It goes way beyond coincidence,
don't you think, spying on Alexis? I know why.
Jason:
You don't come in here and snoop around, ok? You have no right going
through people's papers.
Carly:
I didn't go through any papers. It was right there, wide open.
Jason:
You let yourself in, you were snooping around --
Carly:
No.
Jason:
Yes or no, Carly?
Carly:
No, no, I -- that door was open. I came in and I didn't have to
snoop too far, because I came over here to leave you a note, and
that file was open in plain sight. It's got to be mind-blowing.
I mean, Alexis is going to be your mommy-in-law?
Jason:
You know that this is not a joke, ght?
Carly:
Jason, this is so awful that you have to laugh.
Jason:
For what it's worth, don't say a word, Carly.
Carly:
I'm not going to say anything. Does Sonny know?
Jason:
Yeah, he knows. You know, it's obviously thrown him, and he wants
to keep it quiet.
Carly:
Yeah, I bet he does. Well, you're going to have a hard time doing
that. I just caught Sam spying on Alexis at my hotel, and she was
acting really squirrelly.
Jason:
Did you say something to her?
Carly:
No. She bolted before I had a chance to look, I'm telling you, if
she keeps this up, Alexis is going to know something's going on.
Jason:
You know what? Sam needs to be careful, then.
Carly:
Jason, Sam's vulnerable. Look, I went through the exact Same thing
with bobbie. She's going to want to know her mother, and sooner
or later, she's going to confront her. What are you going to do
then?
[Carnival
music plays]
Ric:
You irrationally blame Alexis for the stillbirth of your daughter,
as well as your brother's death, when that really isn't the truth.
Sam:
And you think she's completely innocent. I know. We've been through
this a hundred times before.
Ric:
Well, I -- I'd be happy to get off your back, but you just don't
seem to get it. You're starting to become obsessed here, Sam.
Sam:
And you would know a thing or two about obsessive behavior, wouldn't
you, Ric?
Ric:
This is the second time in two days that I've outright caught you
stalking exexis, so you tell me -- why shouldn't I be alarmed, Sam?
Sam:
Ok, you want to know why I've been watching your wife?
Ric:
Yeah.
Sam:
I will tell you.
Carly:
Jason, from the minute I found out that Bobbie was my mother, I
was fixed on knowing everything about her. It's like it gave me
some kind of power to know that we had a connection while she didn't,
and I wanted to make her pay for abandoning me, and I can guarantee
you that Sam's feeling the Same way.
Jason:
You're probably right. I think that's part of why she started going
back to school.
Carly:
I can tell you right now that every move she makes from this point
on is about Alexis being her mother.
Jason:
Sam says she doesn't want Alexis to know.
Carly:
I didn't want bobbie to know. Sam has it worse. At least Bobbie
was a nice person. Alexis happens to be --
Jason:
Ok, we know what Alexis is.
Carly:
If Sam is anything like me, she is going to make sure that Alexis
pays -- even if she has to destroy her life.
Jason:
And Alexis will find out that Sam's her daughter.
[Carnival
music plays]
Alexis:
Thanks. Honey, I got you cotton candy. Come here, I want to show
you something.
Sam:
I wasn't stalking Alexis. I was walking through the carnival, I
happened to see her, so I stopped.
Ric:
Hmm, spy on her.
Sam:
To avoid her. I don't want confrontation, Ric, especially in front
of Kristina.
Ric:
Ok, if you wanted to avoid her, why didn't you move off instead
of lurking in the shadows?
Sam:
What, are you kidding me? I can't come to a carnival and stop for
a second to collect my thoughts without you thinking that I'm stalking
your wife?
Ric:
This is a warning. You creep around my wife one more time, and I'm
calling the police and I'm going to get a restraining order on you.
[Applause]
Alexis:
That was great! Unbelievable.
Carly:
Hey!
Sonny:
Hey.
Carly:
How you doing?
Sonny:
Fine. Kids are in the playroom if you want to see them.
Carly:
Oh, that's ok, I just thought it'd be nice to visit with you a bit.
Sonny:
Ok.
Carly:
You know what's great about our relationship? Here we are, exes
--
Sonny:
Right.
Carly:
We share custody of the boys, but we get along. We're really good
friends, right?
Sonny:
Where is this leading, Carly?
Carly:
All I'm saying is, isn't it great that we can talk to each other
and confide in each other and speak openly when something might
be bothering us?
Sonny:
Ok, if this is your idea of subtle, it's not really working. So,
what do you want?
Carly:
Nothing. I just think it's nice spending time with you, that's all.
Sonny:
Where you heading with this? What's so funny?
Carly:
It's just nice whenever fate or karma or whatever's in charge of
the universe that arranges things for me to be right. Like when
I told you that you shouldn't get involved with Alexis.
Sonny:
Who told you?
[Carly
laughs]
Sonny:
Who told you?
Carly:
Sam -- I mean, like, wow. I mean, how ironic is it that morally
superior ice princess Alexis, and her long-lost daughter turns out
to be Sam -- the buckle bunny that you also slept with? Now, I told
you that you would be sorry, and you sure look sorry now.
[Carnival
music plays]
Ric:
Going to show you something -- ready?
Kristina:
Go, daddy!
Ric:
One, two, three -- go. Oh, yeah! Who's the best, right?
Alexis:
You did it! Oh, I'm so proud of you. Hey.
Sonny:
Ok.
Carly:
And I can tell that it's messing with your head, but come on. It
was an accident.
Sonny:
You know what? As long as everything stays quiet, no one finds out,
it's fine.
Carly:
Well, I hope Sam sees it like that.
Sonny:
Sam agrees. She doesn't want Alexis to know that they're mother
and daughter.
Carly:
Yeah, well, that's what she thinks.
Sonny:
Right.
Carly:
And that's what I thought about Bobbie. But I'm telling you, she
is going to become so obsessed with Alexis that she will destroy
her life, and she may destroy her own.
Alexis:
Why were you so late getting to the park?
Ric:
I found Sam spying on you -- second time this week. Yeah, I think
her grief is starting to push her a little bit over the edge.
Alexis:
Did you say something to her?
Ric:
Yeah, I warned her to back off or I'd call the police. And I advise
you to keep your distance from her, as well, if you find her lurking
anywhere near you or the children ever again.
Alexis:
Do you really think she's going to hurt us?
Ric:
Do you remember the fight that I got into the night of the Haunted
Star party?
Alexis:
Yeah.
Ric:
I went over to talk to Sam, I tried to get her to back off of you.
She got all upset, she became irrational, she tried to push me out
of the apartment, so I grabbed her hands, and that's when Jason
walked in and he completely misunderstood.
Alexis:
Jason -- he's the one who hit you?
Ric:
Yes. Yeah, but if Sam hadn't lost control, then it wouldn't have
escalated to the point it did.
Alexis:
You know something? I excuse her because she is grief-stricken.
But Jason -- I've had it with him. He uses violence. He thinks he
can beat people up and shoot them just because he feels justified.
Ric:
Which is all the more reason that we shouldn't antagonize him at
this point.
Alexis:
I am not going to cower in fear of that boy anymore.
Ric:
No, wait --
Alexis:
You know, he's been arrested several times and he gets to walk away
every single time. There's no consequence for him. Maybe I should
be A.D.A. That way, I can prosecute him and maybe get him convicted.
Ric:
Does your neck hurt from all these mood swings? I mean, one minute
you want to open up shop for the two of us, and the next you want
to be the A.D.A.
Alexis:
I'm just saying that I would prefer Jason behind bars rather than
hurting you, thank you.
Jason:
Carly show up?
Sonny:
Yeah. She's getting a realick out of this.
Jason:
That's Carly being Carly. She's just so happy to be involved with
the secret. Hopefully, she'll keep her mouth shut.
Sonny:
Well, I'm more worried about Sam because -- I think you got to rein
her in. She's, you know, going to blow the whole thing.
Jason:
Sonny, you know Sam doesn't want Alexis to know, but that's her
decision. No, we have bigger pblems -- one you've been avoioioioioi
l l oh, looks like we have new neighbors.
Ric:
Good? See?
Alexis:
She's out there.
Ric:
Ignore her.
Alexis:
No. I'm going to talk to her face to face.
Ric:
Alexis, please don't confront her.
Alexis:
Sam, I know you're following me, I'm not angry. It's just that your
anger is feeding Jason's anger, and he's taking it out on Ric --
Sam:
Are you -- I hate you for my own reasons. There are so many, I really
don't know where to start, so maybe I should just start --
Carly:
Alexis, how nice -- you're here with your daughter.
