"It's Getting More than I Can Take"

Sam: I hope Jason made it clear to you, I do not want Alexis to know I'm her daughter.

Sonny: Don't look at me. I'm not telling anybody.

Sam: Ok, I know this has got to be complicated for you, even weird --

Sonny: This is one of the most horrifying things I've ever heard. I don't even know how I'm going to look at Alexis, you know, knowing that I share a child and fathered her grandbaby.

Sam: I know, I know.

Sonny: Just even thinking about it makes me want to --

[Footsteps]

Sam: Oh, gosh.

Alexis: Hi. Sam. Sonny. Excuse me for interrupting, but I need to speak to you.

Sonny: Ok, I'm in the middle of something right now, ok? I'll call you later --

Alexis: All right. When you get a chance, it's important. It's about Kristina.

Sonny: Like I just said, Alexis, this is a real bad time. Can you just -- I'll call you later? I'm just finishing up right now.

Alexis: I appreciate that. How about if I wait by the car and we have this conversation sooner than later because it's really important.

Sam: Why can't you ever give people space? Why does it always have to be about you, what you want, what you need right away no matter what anyone else is trying to do? We're trying to have a conversation here.

Sonny: Yeah.

Alexis: I'm sorry, Sam. Once again, I apologize profusely. I didn't mean to interrupt. It was about Kristina. I'll get back to you.

Sam: Right. That's -- that's right. Nothing's more earthshaking than your scary, undying love for your daughter. I'll talk to you later.

Sonny: All right.

Alexis: I understand her anger, I really do, and I understand that it's a function of her grief and I also understand that she needs to blame someone for the terrible pain that she's in and I'm the chosen target, but I got to tell you, in my gut, where I live, it's getting more than I can take.

Sonny: I thought you wanted to talk about Kristina, Alexis.

Alexis: I do, I do. I had a very dismaying conversation with Carly --

Sonny: Yeah?

Alexis: Who felt that she should tell me that she was appointed legal guardian to Kristina. What were you thinking?

Sonny: You're surprised? We talked about this in November --

Alexis: We --

Sonny: During the train wreck, yeah, we --

Alexis: We absolutely did talk about it!

Sonny: Ok.

Alexis: You didn't hear apparently what I was screaming at you -- that I would rather have attila the hun be the legal guardian than Carly.

Sonny's voice: Who's Sam's mother?

Jason's voice: Alexis davis.

[Jason's voice echoes]

Alexis: Are you even listening to me?

Sonny: You know, I cannot deal with this at this moment in time. I said to you before I'll call you later.

Sonny: I just want to know that we're on the same page. Alexis should never know that she's your mother. It's a messy situation, all right, especially for a young girl to understand. And for Kristina's sake, I just don't --

Sam: Hey --

Sonny: What?

Sam: Could you just do me a favor? Don't ask "for Kristina's sake" because that's what Alexis always says. She hides behind that innocent little girl to justify outrageous behavior -- lying, bullying, demanding stem cells, taking medicine for danny for herself "for Kristina's sake." I will not change my mind. I do not want Alexis to know that I am her daughter. I'm not going to hurt Kristina for -- for anything in this world. She is my little sister. But I hate it that for Kristina's sake, Alexis is never going to have to take responsibility for throwing away her first child -- me.

Alexis: What's so urgent?

Nikolas: I need you to get this lifted as soon as possible.

Alexis: So is that true? Did you try to gain access to the baby when you weren't on the approved visitors' list?

Nikolas: Yes. Courtney was my fiancee. I visited the child every day for the first week of his life.

Elizabeth: What he's saying is true. There wasn't a problem until Jax made it one.

Nikolas: Ok, I'm not a threat to John. I was going to be his stepfather, for god's sakes. Courtney would've wanted me to be in his life. She would've insisted on it.

Alexis: I'm not the one you need to convince.

Jax: I'm sorry to see you here.

Alexis: You slap my nephew with a restraining order. You're damn right I'm going to be here, and I'm asking you as a friend to please drop it. There's obviously a lot of tension going on between the two of you and I don't think the baby should be in the middle of it and have to suffer.

Nikolas: And I know this is a fact that you'd rather ignore, but I could've been John's father just as easily as you.

Alexis: You know what? It would be nice if the two of you could show each other a little tolerance and a little compassion.

Jax: Alexis, you really shouldn't be in the middle of this.

[Alexis sighs]

Jax: What made you think calling Alexis was a good idea? I mean, you knew that she'd be torn between us. You couldn't have the decency to go out and find a neutral attorney?

Nikolas: "Decency"? Who are you to talk about decency? Courtney hasn't been dead a month, and I just walked in on you almost having sex with Carly.

Sonny: It feels strange to be injecting myself into something so personal to you. You find your mother. The bad news is it was Alexis.

Sam: Yes.

Sonny: But you got every right to claim her if that's what you want to do.

Sam: I don'T.

Sonny: Well, but if you did, it -- it should be your decision to make. You don't need any input from me. Now, I'm kind of out of line here, I understand that, but I just want you to know this isn't about me not wanting to look foolish or whatever, because if that were the case, I would take my lumps. Enough people think the worst of me anyway. This is about Kristina and, you know, two people who shouldn't have had a child together and were irresponsible and made her. She's going to grow up, you know, asking questions. "How did mommy and daddy meet? How come they don't live together?" You know, "how come they don't even like each other?" And not that we have to explain to her that her daddy made another baby with her older sister.

Sam: Ok, it sounds really awful when you say it out loud like that, like she was a mistake or -- or she wasn't supposed to be born.

Sonny: Sam, that's not -- that's not what I meant.

Sam: I know, I know. I'm sorry, Sonny, I'm sorry. Her death is a sore spot, that's all.

Sonny: I understand.

Sam: I get what you're saying about Kristina and all, and it's not like I have this burning desire to know who my mother is. I know her well enough, thank you. And even if I did confront Alexis with the fact that she is the reason why I exist, she would just backpedal and make up excuses, and I won't believe her. And in the end, I will wind up hating her guts. So why waste the emotional energy, right?

Sonny: Right.

Sam: You don't have to worry. I'm not going to say anything. This isn't going to go any further than you, me, and Jason. That's it -- the three of us are going to know.

Alexis: You're joking? I mean, what he said -- that you had sex with Carly. It's a joke, right? My god, what happened? What were you thinking? What, did she throw herself on you? Did she take you by surprise?

Jax: No. And no. Not that that's any of your business.

Alexis: This is where you're wrong. It is my business, what happens to you, because you are my best and most cherished friend. And if you did what he said you did with Carly, then you are making a huge mistake. I mean, the restraining order is bad. It's legal. It'll come and go. But having sex with Carly? My god, it's a disaster. It'll have lifetime consequences.

Jax: For nearly three years, you lied about Kristina's paternity.

Alexis: Great. Throw that in my face.

Jax: Well, no, I'm just making a point. Were you wrong to keep Sonny in the dark about his daughter? Were you right? Or did you make the best choice under the circumstances for your child?

Alexis: You know the answer to that.

Jax: Well, that's what Carly's done, as well. She's made the best choice she could for her children.

Alexis: Are you listening to yourself? You're making excuses for her, Jax. You're not thinking clearly.

Jax: Look, I appreciate your concern and I value your advice, ok, and I trust your instincts, but I got to go with my own on this. I'm not ending it with Carly.

Alexis: May god be with you.

Elizabeth: Don't challenge the restraining order. Just let things be for now. Show Jax you can be reasonable, and that's how you'll get him to give in.

Nikolas: Look, Jax, I don't want to fight with you or burden John with my grief. But courtney would want me in his life for her sake, and I won't give up.

Jax: Courtney would want me to protect her son, so the restraining order stands.
