"I Mean Do What Any Mother Would Do to Protect her Child"

Sam: You evil, vindictive bitch.

Alexis: Sam, you need to control yourself.

Sam: No, don't tell me to control myself. You got Jason arrested!

Alexis: That's what happens when someone attempts to kill someone. He's where he needs to be.

Ric: Well, I hope that was worth it. I want Sam arrested right now.

John: Well, that should make for a cozy little night. You, Manny, Jason, all in a row.

Jason: Back off, Durant.

Ric: Look, Alexis is an officer of the court. She was assaulted in front of witnesses. I want her arrested. I want her arrested or I'll --

John: Hey, don't get testy. All right, you're under arrest.

Alexis: No, I don't want anybody to do anything --

Ric: I do.

Alexis: No. It's not up to you. I'm -- if you get her arrested, I'm going to have her bailed out.

Ric: Why are you doing this?

Sam: Why? If you don't know, I certainly do. It's not going to work. You might as well arrest me.

Ric: Just --

Sam: You want me to owe you so I will convince Jason to testify your way at Manny's trial. Forget it. Lock me up and throw away the key.

John: Hey, we can do that.

Jason: No, no, no, no. Hold on.

John: Ok, great, now that we've heard from the peanut gallery -- would you like to spend the night next to your boyfriend, or should we put Manny in the middle?

Alexis: You know what? Stop it, all right? I want to talk to her by myself.

John: At least let me cuff her.

Alexis: Leave her alone. She's not going to attack me.

John: I'm going to remind you that you said that.

Ric: Are you sure about this?

Alexis: Yes.

Ric: All right. I'm not going far.

Alexis: I'm trying to help you now, and I would like it if you could put your animosity aside long enough to hear what I'm saying.

Sam: Oh, I think this is a mistake already.

Alexis: I'm not unsympathetic to you, Sam. I know that you've had a hard life, and I know thayou've been knocked around, mostly by men. And you've been used. I know you've been abandoned. And I know that you think you've found the holy grail in Jason. But you haven't. It may in fact be the worst thing that's ever happened to you. Jason has dumped you right smack in the middle of a very violent life. The only reason you were around Manny in the first place was because of Jason and nothing is going to change, just the names, just the faces, and Manny will be replaced with another thug. Jason's choices will continue to threaten you as long as you stay with him.

Sam: I am safer with Jason than I have ever been with anyone in my entire life. And you have absolutely no room to criticize after you went and got yourself knocked up by a mobster.

Alexis: And I have spent every day worrying about protecting her. I'm sure you would have done the Same thing in my position.

Sam: What, you mean lie and do whatever I can to keep her away from her father?

Alexis: I mean do what any mother would do to protect her child.

Sam: You need to stop judging everybody's experiences by your own, because you know absolutely nothing -- and I mean nothing -- about the world that I live in.

Alexis: You're wrong. I do. I know that the crimes don't stop. I know that the violence doesn't stop. And I know that everybody suffers from the anonymous business rival to innocent children who have no voice, who have only their mothers to depend on to keep them safe. Is that what you want? Have you thought about this at all? Because Jason is in this for life. He's not getting out. He's just been arrested for the nine millionth time. Is that the kind of environment that you want your children to come up in?

Jason: Shut up.

Alexis: I suggest you take a step back.

Ric: Don't do something that you're going to regret.

Jason: I'm not. Get her out of here while you can.

Alexis: You're just upset because you know what I've said to you is true.

Jason: Don't talk to Sam about kids after you attacked her when she was pregnant.

Ric: Alexis' fight with Sam had nothing to do with the miscarriage.

Jason: Oh, that's what you'd like to believe, isn't it, Ric?

Alexis: You can turn this around all you want. But the fact remains that your life is violent and it puts everyone around you at risk. I would certainly think twice about having children with that --

Jason: Get -- Ric --

Ric: Ok, all right.

Jason: Get her out of here, now.

Ric: You've made your point. Come on.

Det. Rodriguez: All right, show's over.

Jason: All right. Just give me a minute.

At the Metro Court

Ric: Ok, I think we need a new strategy here. Have a seat.

Alexis: Thank you.

Ric: Seeing as how Jason and Sam pretty much think the Same way, inviting arguments with Sam might not be the best tactic.

Alexis: I know. You're right. I'm sorry. I tried. I tried to make her see something different than what she sees and it didn't work.

Ric: I know.

Alexis: And I -- that's not going to do it anymore.

Carly: You know what? I am half owner of this hotel. And as half owner, I have the right to refuse service to anyone I choose. And I'm going to exercise that right. I don't want you guys here.

Ric: Oh, come on, Carly.

Alexis: Ok. No, that's all right. Let's go. She probably found out that I had Jason arrested. Let's just leave.

Carly: You did what?

Alexis: I'm sorry, I thought you knew.

Ric: Hey --

Ric: What the hell is this -- attack-my-wife day? Here.

Alexis: Honey, just take a deep breath and --.

Ric: Yeah. What, are you rushing to get back to rose lawn, Carly?

Carly: What kind of trumped-up charges did you fabRicate against Jason this time, huh, Ric?

Ric: Ah.

Alexis: That's the beauty of it, Carly -- I don't have to trump up anything. I just wait for him to commit the next crime, and in this case, it was -- he attempted to kill Manny ruiz and we have witnesses.

Carly: Witnesses. You want to compare witnesses? Because I can come up with about a dozen who have firsthand experience of Manny stalking, maiming, and murdering his way through a train. Meanwhile, Jason is risking his life, seizure after seizure, to protect everyone from your psycho client. Oh, let's not forget that Jason just had brain surgery. But what the hell -- let's kick him while he's down. That's the only way you can beat him, right?

Alexis: You aren't by any chance finished, are you?

Carly: No, I'm not. You keep throwing around words like "principle" and "justice." Well, there's none of either in your defense of Manny. All I see is the Same tired agenda -- you trying to get back at sonny and Jason and for what, Alexis? Becae they know you for the calculating control freak that you are? Is that it?

Ric: Ok, that's enough, Carly.

Carly: Yes, it is, and like I said, get the hell out of my hotel, now.

Jax: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Carly, Carly?

Carly: What?

Jax: Back off, ok? Alexis is my friend. And believe me, you'd be thrown out of this hotel long before she ever would.

Carly: I'm part owner in this hotel and I want Alexis out of here.

Jax: Well, I don't really care what you want. Alexis and Ric -- they're my friends. They're always welcome here. I apologize for Carly.

Ric: Get used to that.

Jax: Listen, why don't you guys go upstairs and order whatever you want. It's on the house.

Alexis: Thank you.

Jax: You're skating on thin ice.

Carly: Not as long as you need me, and trust me -- you do.

Alexis: Doesn't matter what I say. Carly and Sam are going to twist it into my getting back at sonny.

Ric: Yeah, I know. They were both way out of line. It always does come back to being all about sonny.

Jax: You know, I am so sick of this deal that I've been blackmailed into. I don't need you and I want you out.

Carly: You better be nice to me, because I'm the woman who's going to deliver courtney and your baby on a silver platter.

Alexis: Thank you. Getting pregnant with sonny was a tragic mistake, but I wouldn't give up one second of kristina's life.

Ric: I understand.

Alexis: It was the one time I led with my heart and look what happened.

Ric: Oh, really?

Alexis: Mm-hmm. Led with it.

Ric: Right.

Alexis: I didn't mean to hurt Sam. I just wanted to warn her of the consequences of bringing a child into a violent life. And if I had any chance of getting through to her, it was worth the slap in the face.

Ric: Oh, don't forget the drink.

Alexis: Hmm. It was worth it. Hmm.
