"I
Want Your Husband's Job"
Alexis:
Do you hear the heartbeat? Isn't that cool?
Dr. Meadows: Would you like to see a picture of the baby? Look.
Alexis:
Wow.
Dr. Meadows: You see the head and the tiny little fingers?
Alexis:
That is so cool. Look at that. That's your little sister or your
little brother. I can't tell. Can you tell yet?
Dr. Meadows: Hmm. Wouldn't you like to wait until Ric gets here so that
you can hear the news together?
Alexis:
You know, I'm not expecting --
Ric:
Hi, sweetie. How are you?
Alexis:
Oh, I thought it's kind of good to know if it's a boy or a girl,
you know?
Ric:
I just would like to wait a little while longer, that's all.
Alexis:
Oh, all right. Do you want to wait until the baby's born or until
the next ultrasound?
Ric:
You know what, Alexis? Do whatever you want.
Alexis:
Well, I mean --
Dr. Meadows: Enough. Alexis, it's your call.
Alexis:
We'll wait. We'll wait -- for now. That's fine.
Dr. Meadows: Fine. Kristina, would you like to go to the nursery and
look at the babies? Come on, let's go. Ok. Your parents have a few
things that they need to sort out. Come on.
Alexis:
I'll be out in a second, honey.
Ric:
Look, if you want to know the gender of the baby, that's fine with
me.
Alexis:
No, it's --
Ric:
I shouldn't have made an issue about it.
Alexis:
It's ok. You didn't come home last night.
Ric:
Did you think I would?
Alexis:
You're upset that I picked up Kristina at Sonny's house?
Ric:
Yeah. Among other things.
Alexis:
I don't know what would upset you about that. I mean, he murdered
people. He's in jail. I don't know who's taking care of her. Is
it Carly, is it a nanny, is it someone else? Seemed the perfectly
reasonable thing to do.
Ric:
Yeah, Sonny's -- Kristinas living with Sonny because you took
her to London without notice or permission.
Alexis:
Which I had the legal right to do, and he used that opportunity
to snatch her from her own home.
Ric:
Right.
Alexis:
Enough is enough, Ric. She's paid way too much, and she shouldn't
have to pay anymore.
Ric:
Yeah, so has Michael.
Alexis:
And Michael isn't going to testify. I think that we should just
try to cut our losses and work this through.
Ric:
You know, I'm not in any position to judge you or -- or anyone,
for that matter. You're just not the person that I thought you were,
that's all.
Alexis:
If you didn't know that I was a mother who would put my daughter
first and do whatever was necessary to protect her best interests,
then you didn't know me at all, Ric. You thought wrong. We are both
fallible human beings.
Ric:
Yeah, I can't argue with that.
Alexis:
I want you to come home.
Ric:
Well, that's not going to happen, at least not today.
Alexis:
Kristina misses you. She needs you. So if you're not going to do
it for me, do it for her and for our baby.
[Pounding
on door]
Alexis:
Will you stop it? My daughter is sleeping!
John:
Washington faxed it to Mac Scorpio. I've been reassigned to the
proverbial desk job in Alaska.
Alexis:
Oh, darn. It's cold there.
John:
My superiors found out that I accepted a bribe to bring Sonny down.
Now, how do you think that happened?
Alexis:
I have no idea.
John:
You told Ric, didn't you? That was stupid. You're the leak.
Ric:
Ok, so let's get this rolling.
Reese:
Fine. Mr. Corinthos, please take us through the events leading up
to the murder of A.J. Quartermaine.
Sonny:
I'd love to. I had a conversation with my business partner, Jason
Morgan.
Reese:
And what was that conversation about?
Sonny:
Coffee shipments.
Reese:
Where did that conversation take place?
Sonny:
At General Hospital, in the waiting area in the emergency room.
Reese:
Did anyone see you there?
Sonny:
Well, I assume so. I mean, there was just a lot of people in the
waiting room.
Reese:
And what did you do after your conversation with Mr. Morgan?
Sonny:
Well -- ahem -- I -- I got on the elevator, and I pushed the seventh
floor, right? And then I got off the elevator. I turned left, and
I walked down to A.J.'s room.
Reese:
A.J. Quartermaine?
Sonny:
That's pretty much the only dead A.J. I know.
Reese:
For the record, Mr. Corinthos.
Sonny:
Yeah, that's right.
Reese:
And what did you do after that?
Sonny:
No one was around, so I walked into A.J.'s room, and he was asleep.
Reese:
And what, if anything, did you do after that?
Sonny:
Well, I -- I grabbed a pillow, and I pushed it over his face until
he didn't move. And -- and then I walked out.
Reese:
So why isn't there any of your D.N.A. on that pillow, or prints
on the door?
Sonny:
I wore gloves.
Ric:
Oh, of course.
Reese:
And are these gloves still in your possession?
Sonny:
No, I threw them away.
Reese:
And, to your knowledge, did anyone see you in the vicinity of A.J.
Quartermaine's room at any time?
Sonny:
To my knowledge, no.
Reese:
Ok. Thank you, Mr. Corinthos.
Sonny:
You're welcome.
Ric:
That's very professional. Very efficient. It's also a total crock.
John:
I should have started running damage control the moment I knew that
you were involved in this!
Alexis:
I kept my end of the bargain. I provided you with the information
you needed to take Sonny down. If you got caught, that's your problem.
John:
If I lose my career over this, I will go public. You will lose your
law license for good, and I will make damn well sure that you go
to prison for embezzlement.
Alexis:
Stop threatening me.
John:
You got me into this mess. I am going to get myself out of it. Now,
how much damage I do along the way is up to you.
Alexis:
What do you want?
John:
I want your husband's job.
Sonny:
You don't like Agent Marshalls questions here, Ric? Go ahead,
ask them yourself.
Ric:
There's no need, Sonny, ok, because you're lying.
Sonny:
Can you prove that?
Ric:
Not yet, but I will.
[Door
slams]
Reese:
I hope to God you know what you're doing.
Ric:
So, what happened in there?
Reese:
I took a statement.
Ric:
Why didn't you get any details, huh? Why didn't you even bother
to try to trip him up?
Reese:
I didn't see the need. The suspect seemed clear on what he'd done.
Ric:
The suspect is trying to protect somebody. And so are you, for that
matter. I want to know who it is.
Ric:
Look, if Sonny were confessing to protect Carly, you'd be fighting
him every step of the way.
Reese:
All I did was take a statement. It's my job.
Ric:
So you want to see Carly get 5 to 10 for manslaughter? Reese, come
on. There is a very, very short list of people that Sonny would
gladly go to prison for. Carly is one of them. Jason is another.
I don't know -- Mike is possible, his father.
Reese:
What?
Ric:
Why didn't I see this before? It's so obvious. Sonny would do anything,
anything to protect his children. And the person that A.J. hurt
the most -- the one who was in the hospital, who had the most motive
--
Reese:
Leave it alone, Ric. You've got a confession.
Ric:
No, what I have, Reese, is a lie from a father who is desperate
to save his son. Michael did it, didn't he? Michael killed A.J.
