"If he Goes to Prison, My Daughter's Safe"

Ric: Well, well, look at this. I have men watching Sonny's house, and surprise, surprise, I get a call that my own wife is stalking the gate. What are you doing?

Alexis: I'm trying to show you that I've been calling you.

Ric: What is this, Alexis?

Alexis: Stop talking. There's a witness that saw Carly kill A.J.

Alexis: Michael was there. He saw Carly kill A.J.

Ric: Are you suggesting that I put Michael on the stand to testify against his own mother?

Alexis: I'm not suggesting anything. I'm simply telling you that Michael is an eyewitness to murder.

Ric: He's also a little boy who has just recently gone through a traumatic experience. Alexis, I put him on the stand, it's going to put him through hell

Alexis: It'll be a lot worse for him to harbor a secret like that. I don't know how you handle it, but you're the district attorney. You need to take some kind of action. Carly killed A.J.

Ric: Ok, wait. Look, Sonny has custody of Kristina. You may not like that. But if you think that nailing Carly for A.J.'s murder is going to get your daughter back, then you are sadly mistaken.

Ric: We have substantial enough evidence against Carly without Michael's testimony.

Alexis: The last thing that I want to do is put that little boy through amy more pain. But maybe testifying will help him.

Ric: Against his own mother?

Alexis: I saw him. He's terrified. That's a horrible secret for a little boy to keep.

Judge Hunter: D.A. Lansing, please come in.

John: I understand Ric called the judge to get a subpoena in the A.J. Quartermaine murder case?

Alexis: Word travels fast.

John: Who's it for?

Alexis: Michael. He was in the room when Carly killed A.J. He's an eyewitness.

John: Oh, my god.

Alexis: Sonny's keeping him in the compound.

John: Yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure he's doing whatever he can to protect him. Michael's been through enough already.

Alexis: Yes, he has. I thought this was the only way, but now I'm not so sure.

John: Are you kidding? This is perfect.

john: Look, we have to keep moving forward.

Alexis: By having your own grandson incriminate his own mother?

John: Michael is going to have to testify against Carly in a courtroom full of people. Sonny will never let that happen. That is why this is perfect.

Alexis: And you're sure of that? You're sure that he's going to confess to spare Carly and Michael?

John: Yeah. You'd better hope for the same thing because if Sonny does confess, you retain custody of Kristina. Huh?

Alexis: You make it sound awfully simple.

John: Well, you got to admit, it's effective. Sonny will do whatever he can to protect his children, even if it means going to prison.

Alexis: He'll do anything he can but change his lifestyle. So if he goes to prison, my daughter's safe, so that's what I want. That's why I'm justifying this. I don't think I can do it.

John: You're not going -- you don't have to fabricate any evidence. Michael has already said what he saw. The court knows about it. All we have to do is sit right back, let the events unfold. Sonny walks into that courtroom, confesses, and we both get our daughters back.

Ric: Sonny, I'm sorry. This is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I don't liket, but it's my job.

Sonny: Just tell me what it is, Ric.

Ric: It's a subpoena calling Michael to testify.

Reese: For what?

Ric: We have reason to believe that Michael saw carly kill A.J.

Carly's voice: I didn't kill A.J., And I would never do anything that would take me away from you.
