"I Miss Being Home"

Tracy: What happened to the front end of your car?

Alan: I had an accident.

Tracy: Were you hurt?

Alan: Um -- it was dark. There was a car parked in the middle of nowhere. I didn't see it.

Tracy: Was anybody in it?

Dillon: Did this happen at inspiration point, by any chance?

Tracy: What do you know about it?

Dillon: I think Uncle Alan almost killed Alexis Davis.

Ric: You got a visitor. Go.

Alexis: Hi!

Ric: Go, go, go, go.

Alexis: Hi!

Ric: One, two, three. That's it.

Alexis: How are you? Is that balloon for me?

Ric: Yeah. Kristina -- it usually cheers her up when she has a balloon, and she thought --

[Alexis laughs]

Ric: It might do the same for you.

Alexis: Aw.

Ric: Your daughter missed you.

Alexis: I missed her, too. And I miss being home.

Tracy: All right, we have family business to discuss.

Alan: It's fine, Tracy. Everybody's going to know the truth soon enough.

Georgie: Wait, so you did hit Ric and Alexis --

Tracy: Shut up!

Alan: The roads were pitch-black. I didn't know anybody was in the car.

Dillon: Yeah, you didn't even stop to check, either.

Alan: I panicked!

Dillon: You knew that whoever you hit in that car was stranded, miles from town! You knew that.

Tracy: What were you doing out there, anyway?

Alan: I just needed to get away. I decided to go to Jax's new hotel. You know, the one that they named after A.J.'s murderer?

Georgie: Courtney did not murder A.J.!

Tracy: Oh, my god, shut up!

Dillon: Mom, stop it!

Tracy: We will take one crisis at a time. You were at the metro court -- in the bar, I presume?

Alan: Yes, in the bar. I had that first drink in my hand before I even knew it. After that I lost count.

Tracy: Commemorating your son by indulging in his greatest weakness?

Alan: I am not proud of what I've done. I am not proud of the way I failed my son. I did it, ok? Then I drove up to the top of the cliff with the windows open, and I thought I was going to be able to sleep it off. But when I got near the top I slammed into a parked car.

Dillon: Yeah, and you almost pushed alexis and ric over the embankment.

Tracy: But he didn't, did he?

Dillon: No, he didn't, but alexis was sent to the hospital in an ambulance.

Georgie: And she's pregnant!

Alan: Is the baby ok?

Tracy: Little late to worry about that.

Alan: I am worried, I have been worried. I'm going to do the right thing. I'm going to go to the police and tell them what happened.

Tracy: No, you're not. We're going to handle this ourselves.

Dillon: The only way to handle this ourselves is to get justus down here right now.

Tracy: We're going to handle it by getting rid of the evidence, and you, my young son, are going to help.

Ric: So how are you feeling?

Alexis: Much better.

Ric: Look, Kristina was fine when I picked her up this morning.

Alexis: Now is not the time to insist that she was perfectly safe.

Ric: The only child that was at risk yesterday was the child that you're carrying.

Alexis: I understand, and I will be careful.

Ric: Oh, good. Make sure you put "careful" on your schedule the next six months, won't you? Meanwhile, you can ignore the fact that you have a heart condition and you're supposed to avoid stress.

Alexis: I'm very well aware of my heart condition, as well.

Ric: Monica has asked you to take it easy, and I think the best way for you to do that is to avoid tension with sonny. You wanted Kristina at his house last night, and now she's here with you, ok? Can we just leave it at that?

Alexis: I intend to take care of myself, I intend to take care of this baby that I'm carrying, and I intend to take care of my daughter. And Sonny is an ongoing threat to her well-being, and I'm going to protect her.

Tracy: Wearing out a hole in the carpet isn't going to solve your problems.

Alan: I have a moral responsibility.

Tracy: Oh, please. When did you acquire a set of morals?

Alan: I know the difference between right and wrong.

Tracy: What about the difference between freedom and incarceration? Do you really think the district attorney is going to forgive you for almost killing him and his wife?

Alan: I checked. Alexis is fine.

Tracy: Wake up, alan! You were drunk! They can charge you with criminal negligence, or how about vehicular assault?

Alan: Why are you hounding me like this?

Alan: Since when?

Tracy: Alan, you made a catastrophic mistake. I'm trying to protect you. Now, there -- there is something you could do for me to pay me back.

[Engine runs]

Diego: Ok, stop, stop. Are you sure you want to dump this car? I'm saying all it needs is a little body work, and I can fix it.

[Engine turns off]

Dillon: Dude, it's going to the bottom of that lake bed like I said, ok?

Diego: I'm just saying it's a waste of a good car.

Dillon: Can we do this, please?

Diego: Oh, since when do I take orders from you?

Dillon: How about since I helped you find your mom in mexico? You know how long georgie and I couldn't see each other because of you?

Diego: All right, all right. Relax, man, I was just messing with you.

Dillon: I'm sorry, I'm just not in the mood. The only reason I'm doing this is because my mother is forcing me.

Diego: Oy. It's a pretty steep drop.

Dillon: Yeah, I mean, it's going to hit something on the way down. The front end's got to hit.

Diego: All right. All right. Put the car in neutral and let's push it. Better yet --

Dillon: Hey -- on three. Three --

Diego: One -- let go.

[Car crashes]

Diego: Oh. Well, there it is, man -- scrap.

Dillon: Thanks.

Diego: Yeah, no problem.

[Diego laughs]

Diego: Relax, I got you! I got you. You know, it's nice to see someone else get into trouble.

Reese: Ric? We have a major situation here. I assume you already know that Sonny is planning a full-fledged war with the Sandovals.

Ric: Come here. Are you asking my office for backup or do you want me to stay away?

Reese: No, I want you to intervene, but not as the District Attorney. As Sonny's brother.

Ric: Agent Marshall, you are barking up the wrong tree there. Sonny does not want to hear what I have to say.

Reese: Make him. He's grieving for his child, and no matter how rational he may seem, he's not thinking clearly.

Ric: What do you suspect is about to happen?

Reese: The Sandovals hit kelly's last night. They roughed up Mike and knocked him unconscious, and -- and then they went after sam mccall.

Ric: Yeah, that's to provoke Sonny.

Reese: Right. And if Sonny retaliates, he's going to be walking right into a trap. The Sandovals will be waiting for him. And Durant knows something is up, too, and he's willing just to sit back and watch this whole thing happen.

Ric: Yeah, well, Durant has been after Donny since day one. So have your superiors, for that matter. So why are you trying to prevent it? I mean, you have everything you need to put Sonny away.

Reese: I am a law enforcement official. It's my job to save lives.

Ric: Including Sonny's?

Alan: You're blackmailing me already? Faster than usual.

Tracy: Call it what you want, Alan, but Daddy has been interfering with E.L.Q., And since Justus has control of mother's assets, I need you on my side so I can continue as C.E.O.

Alan: We'd be better off with Ned or Justus in charge.

Tracy: Ha-ha-ha-ha. Too bad, you don't have a choice. Either you back me or everybody finds out that you practically mowed down the District Attorney and his wife.

Dillon: Did it. It's done. I sent the car over an embankment and into the lake on the south side of crestview drive.

Tracy: You sure nobody saw you do it?

Dillon: Yeah, pretty sure.

Tracy: Was the car totally submerged?

Dillon: Mom, it started out as a luxury sedan, and now it's a submarine. I think you'll be fine.

Tracy: Nice work.

Dillon: Glad you think so.

Alan: Now what?

Tracy: I'd like to report an accident.

Reese: Are you going to help or not

Ric: Sonny won't listen to what I have to say. Our relationship is hostile at best.

Reese: Well, that seems to have abated after the kidnapping.

Ric: That's because innocent children were involved.

Reese: And they still are. If Sonny dies or he goes to prison, Morgan and Kristina lose a father. Now, sonny needs to realize that his kids need him more than he needs his business.

Ric: See, my brother doesn't see it that way, agent marshall. He does not live in the same world that we live in. Do you understand that if he does not make a show of force, he is going to be viewed as weak?

Reese: So you're just going to let it happen?

Ric: Sonny isn't going to listen to either one of us, Reese, ok? And when he does retaliate, the only thing we can do is our job and make him pay.

Reese: You don't want to prosecute your own brother, Ric.

Ric: I'm not going to like it. But I have to believe that the system works.

Reese: The system doesn't account for grief.

Ric: He has gotten to you, hasn't he?

Reese: Yes.

Ric: It takes years of hard work and dedication to become a field agent. Are you willing to throw all of that away, sacrifice it all, and give up a major bust just because you like my brother's dimples?

Reese: I'm not a teenager with a crush, Ric. I have compassion for a parent who's suffered a devastating loss.

Ric: So he deserves leniency?

Reese: Would you just stop playing devil's advocate here? You know you feel the same way. Ok, over the last couple of months I have gotten to know Sonny's family, and it is a mess of emotions, including love and hate and betrayal. And Sonny is definitely the key, the one person who you all orbit around. Now, I know that you used to hate Sonny. You started off hating him, but now you want to save him.

Ric: The only person who can save Sonny is himself.

Reese: I think part of Sonny wants to change. He just doesn't know how.

Ric: And, what, we're going to show him the way?

Reese: I'm willing to try.

Ric: Agent Marshall, do yourself a favor. Don't share your theory with your superiors. Sonny's never going to give up the mob for any reason. He is addicted to the money, he is addicted to the power. He will fight to keep what's his. Even if it does destroy him in the end.

Lorenzo: Ric, you wanted to see me?

Ric: Yeah, there's something that I want you to do.

Lorenzo: Is this an official request?

Ric: No, just the opposite -- it's a tip. Get out of town.

Lorenzo: Oh. And go where?

Ric: I don't care. Crawl under a rock. Work on your tan. Just go.

Lorenzo: What's in it for you?

Ric: It's less cleanup. Sonny's prepping to take down the sandovals. I want you to call and warn them.

Lorenzo: Why don't you see this as an opportunity? You've wanted to put sonny behind bars for years.

Ric: It's less bloodshed. Look, it is my job to uphold the law, not wait for somebody to commit a crime and then pounce on them.

Lorenzo: This isn't about law and order. You're trying to save big brother.

Ric: Make the call, warn the Sandovals, and then get out of town yourself.

Lorenzo: Why would I need to leave town?

Ric: Do you honestly think that Sonny's going to just go after sandoval and not come after you?

Lorenzo: I had nothing to do with Michael's death.

Ric: Neither did they. Sonny's making a statement. Look, if you don't want to warn sandoval and all of his people, I can only assume that you're involved.

Lorenzo: Hmm. So this pathological hatred you have for your brother is now what? Concern? Guilt?

Ric: Call it what you want.

Lorenzo: You're trying to keep sonny out of prison.

Ric: As well as keeping a lot of my constituents a lot safer. Make the call.
