"We Will Find Her"

Rollo: We'll do it the way we agreed. I'll call the number, then leave town.

Jason: Where's Kristina?

Sam: I did not take Kristina.

Ric: Sam, why did forensics find a strand of your hair in Sonny's bedroom? What, are you sleeping with him again?

Sam: No, Ric, I'm not!

Ric: Why were you in the bedroom, Sam? Why were your footprints found all over the place, both in the bedroom and at the foot of the ladder? Easy -- whoa, whoa -- wait a minute.

Sonny: I got it, I got it. Where's Kristina?

Sam: Sonny, I don't know.

Sonny: Where did you leave her? What have you done to my daughter?

Sonny: I wanted to approach you last night, but I told myself that I'd let the police do their job, give you the opportunity to do the right thing. It didn't happen. So if you're not going to talk to the police, you need to talk to me.

Sam: Sonny, I don't know where your daughter is.

Sonny: Who's taking care of her? Is that why you stole my money? To buy a nurse, to set up of a house? What --

Sam: No! No. It's not.

Sonny: Ric, I need some time alone with her. Just --

Sam: No. Ric --

Sonny: Ric, listen -- she'll tell me, she'll tell me where Kristina is.

Ric: Five minutes.

Sonny: Five minutes.

Alexis: You left Sonny alone in there with her?

Ric: Sonny may be the best chance we have of finding Kristina.

Sonny: You were in this room all night with Ric?

Sam: Yes.

Sonny: You want some coffee --

Sam: No, I'm ok.

Sonny: You know, when carly and I, we lost our first child, you know, she blamed the quartermaines, I blamed myself. I was out of my mind with grief. I would have done anything to get my baby back, to punish the people who were responsible. That's why i pushed to adopt michael, because they stole from me, i was going to steal from them. That's how i think. And I'm pretty sure that's how you think, too, ok? I can't believe it's taken you this long. I mean, look -- everything you've been through, I mean, you know, losing the child and all the while seeing Kristina alive while you got nothing.

Sam: Sonny, Ii would never hurt Kristina. You know that. Come on, that would be like hurting my own child.

Sonny: Why did you take her?

Sam: I didn't.

Sonny: I'm trying to help you here. You're in a bad situation. Maybe you weren't thinking straight. I know what that means, believe me, but I can't have my child out there with strangers. She needs to come home. You got to help me on this.

Sam: Sonny, I can't.

Sonny: And the money? Keep it, ok, because I owe you the whole thing. I should have given you money before. Maybe you wouldn't have been so desperate to do what you're doing. But we can make it right.

Sam: No, we can't. No.

Sonny: See, that upsets me, because you say that and it makes me believe that it's too late to save my child. My daughter needs to come home. You're going to have to help me on that, ok? Just talk to me.

Sam: I swear to you on the soul of our dead baby I didn't do it. Sonny, I did not take Kristina.

Jason: You'd better tell me who you're working for.

Rollo: Sonny, just like you.

Jason: You sabotaged the security system. You let the kidnapper in the house.

Rollo: No, I --

Jason: Now the wrong person's in jail for it. Sam didn't do it.

Rollo: You sure about that?

Jason: Where's Kristina?

Rollo: I don't know.

Jason: Then there's no reason to leave you alive.

Rollo: Wait. She's close.

Jason: Where?

Rollo: I'll take you to her.

Jason: No, you're going to tell me.

Rollo: If they see you first, they're going to kill the kid.

Jason: Ok, let's go.

Jason: Where's Kristina? Who took her?

Who took her?

Rollo: Sam.

Officer: Step away from the body. Step away. Put the weapon down. Put the weapon down. Hands behind your head.

Sonny: You'll say anything to get out of trouble.

Sam: Not this time.

Sonny: Listen to yourself! Swearing on the soul of our dead child knowing it's a lie.

Sam: I'm not lying.

Sonny: Forensics puts you in my bedroom. Your footprints lead up to my bed!

Sam: Sonny, I did not take Kristina!

Sonny: Was she scared? Huh? On the ladder? Was she crying? What'd you do to her?

Sam: I would never do anything to hurt her! You know that!

Sonny: Who's taking care of my baby?

Sam: I don't know. I don't know. I wish I did.

Sonny: She could get sick. She can get an infection. It could kill her. In all the --

Sam: If I could tell you where Kristina was, I would.

Sonny: Is this payback?

Sam: I don't know where she is.

Sonny: Is this payback?

Sam: No, it's not!

Sonny: Then why are you doing this to me?

Alexis: She's not doing it to you. She's doing it to hurt me.

Alexis: Sam, do you blame me because your baby died?

Sam: No, Alexis, I don't.

Alexis: I've seen you watching Kristina. I've seen you doing that.

Sam: I've noticed her, yes. She's alive because of my little girl, and she'll always be important to me.

Alexis: Do you remember when you asked me if you could come over and spend time with her?

Sam: Yeah, I do, and you turned me down. Do remember that?

Alexis: Because I thought it would be more harmful than helpful. Sam -- you got mad at me because you thought you should be allowed to do that because you saved her life, right?

Sam: Yeah, right.

Alexis: I know what it's like to feel desperate. I know what it's like to have my daughter taken away from me. Everyone in this town tried to keep my daughter away from me until I made them understand that I would go to any lengths to protect her.

Sam: What, is that a threat?

Alexis: No, it's a statement of fact, Sam. Tell me where she is. Just tell me where she is. I'll get you out of this. I can do that. I kept Sonny out of prison for years. I can do the Same thing for you. You tell me. You tell me where she is, Sam, and i will make it look like none of this ever happened. Ric and Sonny will cooperate. I will make this go away.

Sam: It's true. I envied you. I'd see Kristina at Kelly's with you, and it was unfair. Your daughter is alive because of me, and you barely let me close to her because you think I'm trash. But Kristina has a good life with you, and if I ever did anything to mess that up or to hurt her, that would be like my baby dying all over again.

Sonny: Ok. If Sam is the kidnapper, that means that Kristina is out there somewhere, she's safe and -- right?

Ric: Yeah. Yeah. The thing is if Sam's accomplice panics, he might decide to get rid of krist-- we have to get Sam to tell us where Kristina is.

Ofc. Murphy: He shot one of Sonny's bodyguards.

Sonny: Which one?

Jason: Rollo.

Ric: Oh. So let me guess. Was it self-defense?

Sonny: Did you find out anything?

Jason: No, but he's definitely involved.

Alexis: Jason, Sam wants to see you.

Jason: Why? Why?

Sam: I am so sorry for betraying your trust like this -- because --

Jason: Why did you take the money?

Sam: For an illegal adoption. They said that if I could come up with $100,000 i could have the baby right away.

Jason: Is that why you were talking to that woman in the alley?

Sam: Yes, Jason. She set the whole thing up.

Jason: Sam, Sonny would have given you that money.

Sam: I know. But he would have also told you. And then you would have known that i bought a baby. I know, Jason, I know it seems crazy. Are you kidding me? It seems totally insane, but I wanted to walk back into our life with a baby that no one could ever take away from us. It never occurred to me that Kristina would be sleeping in Sonny's bed, let alone his house.

Jason: Did Kristina see you?

Sam: Yes, she saw me. When I broke in, I came through the window, and she woke up, and I shushed her. I broke into the safe. I took the money. When I was leaving, she was asleep. You think I'm lying, don't you?

Alexis: You need to go in there and get --

Ric: She might talk to Jason.

Alexis: And what, do you think he's going to come out here and tell us everything that she said?

Ric: He might.

Alexis: Anything the two of them say in there is inadmissible in court.

Ric: Yes, Alexis, but it may help us find Kristina.

Alexis: Do you really think Jason shot that bodyguard in self-defense?

Sonny: Rollo probably pulled a gun on him. I mean, who's to say, right?

Alexis: Or maybe the bodyguard figured out that Sam took Kristina, and Jason shot him.

Ric: Can't rule that out.

Alexis: You need to go in there and tell her what she's up against and tell her that we have plenty of evidence, because she --

Sonny: We could do that. Alexis, we could do that, ok? We really can. But if you want to find Kristina, you need to let Sam go.

Sam: Jason, I gave the woman the money. She was supposed to come back with the baby, and when she didn't, I realized the whole thing was probably just a scam. And even if it wasn't, it could never have worked. I mean, I couldn't bring a baby to you and lie about where i had gotten her from, so here i am. I broke into Sonny's house. I stole his money. I lost it. For what? For nothing. And then i realized that i needed you. I needed you to help me fix the mistakes that I made, Jason. But when i heard your voice on the phone, I -- I panicked. I was wrong. I was totally, completely wrong, and I am so sorry. I am sorry for hurting you, but I swear to you, Jason, i swear -- I did not take Kristina.

Jason: Ok. Where did you make first contact with this woman?

Sam: The bookstore on church and third.

Jason: Do you have anything, any kind of paperwork you can give me, anything?

Sam: A phone number. A phone number. I memorized it --

Jason: Ok, ok. Ok, just write it down, ok?

Jason: I'll check it out.

Sam: Thank you.

Sonny: Ric, if you let Sam go, she'll lead us to Kristina.

Alexis: You can't assume that.

Sonny: Someone's got to be taking care of the baby.

Alexis: You can't assume that either. She was about to take a bus out of town.

Ric: Yeah, which would make sense if she had access to all of that cash.

Sonny: Sam probably paid somebody off, which means Kristina's safe. She's got to go check on her.

Alexis: If Sam disappears, we may never see Kristina again. I'm not taking that risk.

Ric: Jason, what did Sam say?

Jason: She didn't take Kristina.

Alexis: Can you prove that?

Jason: Yes, I can -- if you let me out of here.

Ric: You need to go home.

Alexis: No.

Ric: No, I'll send somebody with you.

Alexis: No, I am not going back to my apartment without my daughter. It's breakfast time. I always make her toast, and she likes to stick her hand in the marmalade jar when she thinks i'm not looking, and she won't eat her oatmeal unless there's a lot of brown sugar. What if she's hungry?

Ric: I'm sure she's being cared for.

Alexis: She's wondering where I am. She's wondering why I haven't come for her yet. If she catches a cold, that could be really serious. I knew that if I left her alone in that man's house something terrible would happen to her --

Ric: This is not your fault.

Alexis: And I had no right to let a teenager look after her and --

Ric: Alexis, everybody --

Alexis: And to yell at Sam in the hospital like that --

Ric: Listen to me. You were trying to find a logical explanation for this, and there is none. Alexis, we will find her, and she will be all right.

Sonny: What part doesn't make sense to you?

Carly: All of it. I mean, Sam swears she didn't take Kristina, and Jason believes her.

Sonny: He's not covering for her.

Carly: But she took the money. She stole that. That's clear.

Sonny: Ok.

Carly: So, where is it? Sonny, why was she taking a bus out of town? Why didn't she charter a jet or something?

Sonny: Maybe she paid somebody off.

Carly: For what?

Sonny: Maybe she did what you said from the start. Maybe Sam just snapped.

Carly: Ok, then why won't she just tell us where Kristina is? I mean, you lost a baby, too. You understand grief. You're not going to want her punished, and I think Sam would realize that.

Sonny: You're right. I don't know. It doesn't make any sense.

Carly: All right, hypothetically, ok, just hypothetically, if she did take Kristina and she had her stashed somewhere --

Sonny: Right.

Carly: She'd lose Jason forever, right? And, you know, i'd love that. But I just don't think that she'd want to take that risk. Maybe she didn't take her.

Sonny: I don't know if it's better or worse. I mean, you know, she's out of her mind with grief. She would never hurt a child. But that means that somebody, you know -- go ahead and take michael back to your place. Have max drive you. Make sure he walks you to the door.

Carly: Ok.

Sonny: Tell michael i'll call him later, all right?

Carly: I will.

Sonny: Ok. Do me a favor. Just be careful, all right?

Alexis: Did you find anything?

Ric: Jason, that bodyguard was about to call Sam. Her number was punched up on his cell.

Sam: Did you find Kristina?

Jason: I showed your picture around the bookstore. No one remembers seeing you alone or with that woman. And that phone number you gave me is disconnected, so --

Sam: So, Jason --

Jason: So what?

Sam: I can explain all that.

Jason: Yeah, I'm sure you could explain all that. But right now the explanation I want to hear is why Sonny's guard Rollo, who's on the kidnapper's payroll, was calling you when i busted him today. He had a lot of cash on him, Sam. How much of it came from you? Did you pay Rollo to help -- to help steal Kristina?

Sam: Jason, I didn't do it. I swear to you, I did not do it.
