"I
Started Fantasizing About You"
Ric:
Alexis?
[Alexis
gasps]
Alexis:
Oh!
Ric:
Oh. I'm sorry; I didn't mean to startle you.
Alexis:
How'd you get in here?
Ric:
Well, I have a key.
Alexis:
Oh. That's right. Uh -- you never returned it.
Ric:
Yeah, but you did invite me. Ok, fine, you strongly suggested. Where
have you been?
Jason:
Ok, just try to relax. Let me take a look around outside and make
sure that everything's --
Brook Lynn: Help! Oh, my God!
Sonny:
What? What?
Brook Lynn: Sonny. Sonny, look, Kristinas gone.
Sonny:
How did this happen?
Brook Lynn: I don't know. She was asleep, and I went into the hallway
to take a call on my cell, and I didn't want to wake her up.
Jason:
Max, seal the property, block the access roads, check every building.
Somebody took Kristina.
Man:
Don't worry. She'll be back soon.
Ric:
You asked me to drop by.
Alexis:
I didn't ask you. It was a --
Ric:
You implied that you wanted to work things out, and that's why you
sent Kristina over to see Sonny, right?
Alexis:
Well, not exactly.
Ric:
Where were you tonight?
Alexis:
You may have -- I don't appreciate being interrogated in my home.
Ric:
Alexis, wait a minute. I'm not interrogating you, I'm just asking.
Alexis:
I was at the law library.
Ric:
Really?
Alexis:
Is that a problem?
Ric:
No, it's not a problem. I just -- I called Gates Hall and you weren't
there.
Alexis:
I don't have to explain my whereabouts to you.
Ric:
Alexis, I'm not asking -- what -- ok, fine. You know what? I did
my part -- I showed up. I opened the wine. Enjoy it.
Alexis:
Wait, wait, wait, wait! Wait, I'll explain everything.
Sonny:
Did you get the call or did you make the call?
Brook Lynn: He called me.
Sonny:
How long did you leave Kristina alone -- two minutes, 10 minutes?
Brook Lynn: I don't know, Sonny. It wasn't very long.
Sonny:
You didn't hear anything or, you know, Kristina crying?
Brook Lynn: Look, I -- I would've come back in here!
Sonny:
Ok. The door's opened. You didn't hear anything, right?
Brook Lynn: Right. Look, I was standing outside that door. I was walking
back and forth. I would've --
Sonny:
You need to think! The door opens, there's a ladder on the side
of the house. You didn't hear anybody pick up a child that was sleeping?
You didn't hear anything?
Brook Lynn: I didn't hear anything!
Jason:
Ok, ok, ok. Sonny, please, it's not going to help to get her upset.
Just -- ok, just take it easy, all right?
Brook Lynn: Ok.
Jason:
We just need to establish a timeline. That's the first thing we
need to do. You need to just tell me everything that happened --
Sonny:
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Where's Michael? Michael! Michael!
Jason:
The doors.
Sonny:
Yeah, got it. Michael! Get Max on the phone. I want all the gates
shut down. I want everybody we got to search the property. I don't
want anybody to leave this place. I will kill the bastard who did
this.
Michael:
Dad.
Sonny:
Hey -- what happened? Did they hurt you?
Michael:
No, I'm fine.
Sonny:
Did you see the bad men? Huh?
Jason:
Michael, what happened?
Michael:
I ran out to look for Kristina, but nobody's there.
Sonny:
All right. Stay right there. Stay right there.
Alexis:
I fully intended to go to Gates Hall.
Ric:
And why didn't you?
Alexis:
Lingerie.
Ric:
"Lingerie"?
Alexis:
Yes, I needed some stockings at Wyndham's, so I -- I went there
and they were having a sale.
Ric:
On what?
Alexis:
Lingerie. I told you -- lingerie.
Ric:
I'm sorry.
Alexis:
Ok, well, they had some lingerie and it was very attractive, and
I thought, well, you know, it was a good price. So I thought maybe
I would buy it because, you know, it gets very expensive. Lingerie
gets very expensive, and then who -- you know, what do you really
get for all that money sometimes, I wonder.
Ric:
Well, that depends.
Alexis:
So I went to try it on, and then I started
fantasizing about you, ok? I was thinking about you on
a --
Ric:
Really?
Alexis:
Beach, in a hotel room, in a forest, on the dining room table --
Ric:
Forest? I'm impressed.
Alexis:
And I took it to the counter and I handed it to the sales clerk
to ring it up --
Ric:
Wait a minute; go back to the whole forest thing.
Alexis:
And she couldn't find the price tag. So she held it up in the air
--
Ric:
Was there snow on the ground; was it summer?
Alexis:
And then she starting waving it around like a flag and then everyone
started noticing --
Ric:
Were there pine needles?
Alexis:
And I knew that they knew what I was going to do with it. So I ran
out, and then I --
Ric:
Was there a babbling brook?
Alexis:
What? No. No, there was no babbling brook. Definitely not.
Ric:
Alexis, come on, tell me.
Alexis:
Do you see that this whole debacle is an example? It perfectly sums
up whatever it is that you and I have going here.
Ric:
Would you rather I talk to you about Paris?
Alexis:
No! I don't expect you to understand because I went to great lengths
to try to create this evening alone for us.
Ric:
Oh, then you admit it?
Alexis:
Yes, I do, and then I chickened out, and then I stood you up, hoping
you would get mad at me and walk away, because that is why we don't
have a prayer here, because one minute I really, really want you,
and then the next minute I think I loathe your very existence. Then
one minute I think I trust you, and then the next minute I think
I don't trust you at all. And then one minute I need you, and then
I don't need you and then I think I never will. More wine?
Ric:
Yeah. Definitely.
Alexis:
I don't know what to do.
Ric:
Look, we managed to run into one another. So why don't we just make
the best of it here?
Alexis:
I haven't ruled out charging you with breaking and entering.
Ric:
A shame about the lingerie, though.
Alexis:
It was a two-for-one sale.
Ric:
Would you like to go out to dinner?
[Phone
rings]
Ric:
Why don't we leave that to fate?
Alexis:
So with -- I pick up the phone, or a bolt of lightning strikes me
dead?
Ric:
No, no, you answer it. If it's important, you deal with it. If it's
not, then let's take it as a sign, we'll go out to dinner.
Alexis:
Hello?
Sonny:
Alexis.
Alexis:
What's wrong?
Sonny:
Um -- somebody broke into the house and took Kristina.
Diego:
Hey. You ok? Yeah?
Brook Lynn: Hey, what happened to your hand?
Diego:
I cut it jumping over the fence. I heard you screaming on the phone
and the line went dead and, you know, I had to make sure you were
ok. You all right?
Brook Lynn: Yeah. Somebody took Kristina while I was talking to you.
Jason:
Can you guys have a seat for a minute? Ok, I need to know everything
that happened in this room tonight, so I want you to start from
the beginning, ok? Why'd you bring the kids upstairs?
Michael:
I wanted to show Kristina my puzzle.
Jason:
Did you notice anything in the hall on the way?
Brook Lynn: No.
Michael:
I ran ahead to turn on the lights.
Jason:
Ok. So you're in this room, right? What happened next?
Brook Lynn: Well, then Michael was showing Kristina the puzzle and she
got tired, so I put her on the bed.
Jason:
Ok, who opened the doors?
Brook Lynn: I didnt.
Michael:
I didn't, either.
Jason:
Then what happened?
Michael:
I got hungry.
Brook Lynn: God, I never should've let him go downstairs by himself.
Michael:
I was starving, so I talked her into it.
Jason:
Can you two just wait out in the hall for me, ok? Just give me a
minute?
Brook Lynn: Ok.
Jason:
Michael, you stay right here, please. Did you show Brook Lynn or
Kristina where the safe is in this room?
Michael:
No.
Jason:
Michael?
Michael:
No, I didnt.
Jason:
Whoever took Kristina also took a lot of money.
Sam:
Hi. Yeah, I got the money. I just need to make a few more arrangements,
and then I'm ready to pick her up.
Alexis:
Where are the police? Why are you just standing here?
Sonny:
I haven't called the police yet.
Alexis:
Then I will.
Sonny:
No, no -- no, wait --
Ric:
Hey, watch it.
Sonny:
We need to know who we're dealing with. That's all I'm saying.
Alexis:
I know who I'm dealing with.
Sonny:
No, no, listen --
Ric:
Try to calm down.
Sonny:
It's safer --
Alexis:
"Safer"?
Sonny:
It's safer for Kristina if -- it's safer for Kristina if we don't
--
Alexis:
Shut up! Where's my daughter?
Sonny:
Alexis, we're going to find her. We are going to --
Alexis:
I knew that she wasn't safe with you. I knew that. I tried to get
-- get someone to help me. I told everybody, but nobody would listen
-- not the courts, not you. You refused. You know why? Because you
care more about what you wanted than what was right for her, you
selfish -- you bastard!
Sonny:
Hey! Wait!
Ric:
Alexis --
Alexis:
She's out there all by herself in the cold, and you think you can
control the situation, you bastard? If anything happens to her --
if anything happens to her, I will kill you.
Ric:
Ok, all right, all right, hold on. Try to get ahold of yourself.
That's enough.
Alexis:
Let go of me.
Ric:
Ok, listen to me. We need to focus on finding Kristina.
Alexis:
That's exactly what I'm doing. Thank you for your wisdom. I'm calling
the police.
Sonny:
Can't call the police yet.
Ric:
Alexis, we can't call the police, ok? Sonny has a point.
Alexis:
Really? He couldn't even take care of her for a night.
Sonny:
This is a walled-and-gated area. There's guards all over the place.
Alexis:
A lot of good that did her.
Sonny:
They took Kristina because the security system went down.
Alexis:
And why did that happen?
Sonny:
Because there was a problem with it.
Alexis:
And why didn't you tell me?
Sonny:
Crashing the system may have been part of the plan. This is an inside
job. We can't call the police. It's not going to do us any good.
Ric:
Sonny, do you have any idea who might be behind this?
Sonny:
I don't know, Ric. But if it's a kidnapping, then they're going
to -- you know, they're going to call for a ransom --
Ric:
Right.
Sonny:
And, you know, we'll give them whatever they want. And then they
-- maybe they'll give Kristina back. But if we call the police,
it's going to scare the kidnappers, and they're going to -- they
could destroy the evidence.
Alexis:
Say it -- they could kill her. You did this!
Sonny:
I -- I will find her, Alexis.
Alexis:
I'm calling the police.
Ric:
No, no, no. Hold on, hold on, all right?
Alexis:
You agree with him?
Ric:
No, I'm just saying that I think that Kristina might be safer if
you and Sonny deal with the kidnapper.
Michael:
I left this room and I went down the hall.
Jason:
You didn't see anything?
Michael:
No, I ran. And then I went downstairs and I saw you and dad.
Jason:
And then you went into the kitchen, right?
Michael:
Yeah. I made some popcorn in the microwave. There was a comic book
on the table, so I ate my popcorn right at --
Jason:
But you didn't hear anything?
Michael:
Not until everybody started screaming. I ran outside to see if I
could find Kristina, but I couldn't find her, so I came back in.
Jason:
Ok, buddy. Brook Lynn, Diego?
Brook Lynn: Excuse me.
Jason:
Ok. I need to know what happened after Michael left.
Brook Lynn: Ok, Kristina was asleep. I got a call on my cell. It was from
Diego, so I went in the hall because I didn't want to wake her up.
Jason:
Ok, what time was that?
Brook Lynn: It was about 8:30. Yeah. I walked out of the door and I closed
it, and then I --
Jason:
You -- you closed the door to the bedroom?
Brook Lynn: Yes, but I checked on her.
Jason:
Ok. No, that's fine. Now, are you sure that these doors were shut?
Brook Lynn: Jason, it was freezing outside. I wouldn't have had them open.
Jason:
All right. Now, this closet door -- was it open or was it closed?
Michael:
It was closed.
Brook Lynn: Well -- well, mostly. It could've been open. You know what?
I don't know.
Jason:
It's closed now. Did you close it?
Brook Lynn: No.
Jason:
Michael, did you close it?
Michael:
No, I didn't close it.
Brook Lynn: Do you think the kidnapper was hiding in the closet? I mean,
God, somebody could've been watching the whole time.
Ric:
Kristina was taken from this room?
Jason:
Yes, Ric, this is the room.
Diego:
They think somebody took her out that balcony.
Jason:
Actually, we don't know what happened yet.
Alexis:
Was she in that bed?
Brook Lynn: Yes.
Jason:
Michael, let's go downstairs. We're going to wait for your mom,
ok?
Michael:
Ok.
Jason:
All right.
Alexis:
Must be very reassuring for Carly, knowing that you would lay down
your life for her two sons.
Ric:
Alexis, take it easy.
Alexis:
My daughter doesn't rate the same kind of devotion, does she, since
she was the one that was snatched out of this house. Do you care?
Do you have any feelings at all, because --?
Jason:
I'm going to do everything I can to find your daughter.
Alexis:
She must've been terrified when someone took her out of here. I'm
sure she started crying. Didn't anybody hear her? Did no one in
this house hear her cry?
Brook Lynn: God, it's my fault.
Diego:
No, it isnt. It is not.
Brook Lynn: Yes -- no -- yes, it is, Diego. Look, I said that I would
watch Kristina, and then I left her by herself. I'm so sorry, Alexis.
Sonny:
Yeah. Ok.
Jason:
All right, I want you to just sit in this chair, ok?
Michael:
Ok.
Jason:
Just look at these books, read, do not go after Kristina.
Michael:
I wont.
Sonny:
Hmm?
Jason:
The cash in your safe is gone.
Sonny:
Hmm. Look, I had $100,000 cash in there.
Jason:
I don't know how this fits in. I don't know if Kristina was there
as a witness and they took her, or the money was going to be paid
for, you know, an escape.
Sonny:
Well, whoever it is had to know the house.
Jason:
Well, so I'm thinking that the ladder may be a decoy.
Sonny:
Why do you say that?
Jason:
Well, because Brook Lynn said that the closet door in the room was
open --
Sonny:
Yeah?
Jason:
Ok, when Kristina was there, and then when we came in it was closed.
Sonny:
You think the kidnapper was in the closet?
Jason:
I don't know.
Sonny:
Sick --
Jason:
I don't know. He might've been, I mean, or whoever did this. They
had five or 10 minutes at the maximum because Brook Lynn left the
room at 8:30.
Sonny:
What good is a babysitter who can't watch a child for a damn --?
Jason:
Sonny -- Sonny --
Sonny:
What was it, 10 minutes?
Jason:
Sonny, who ever did this planned it. Brook Lynn is lucky she didn't
even get hurt. She couldn't have stopped anybody.
Sonny:
It has to be one of our people.
Jason:
We'll find out who it is.
Sonny:
Well, make it quick.
Michael:
They'll find Kristina, dad. Don't worry.
Sonny:
I know, buddy. I don't want you to worry. You know what I mean?
Michael:
Yeah.
Sonny:
Because I'm going to take care of it, all right?
Michael:
I know.
Sonny:
Yeah, I know. All right, so I want you to -- can you tell me what
you told Jason? Maybe we can figure out what's going on here?
Michael:
All right.
Sonny:
I mean, did you see anybody? Did you hear anybody?
Michael:
Well, I made popcorn.
Sonny:
Yeah? From my room to the kitchen?
Michael:
Yeah. I asked you if it was ok.
Sonny:
Right. And then what happened? What happened?
Michael:
I made popcorn and I read a comic book, all in the kitchen.
Sonny:
Right.
Carly:
Hey, it's ok. Hi, sweetheart. It's going to be ok.
Sonny:
He's been brave through the whole thing.
Carly:
Yeah. Where's Jason?
Sonny:
He's tracking down a lead, I guess.
Carly:
He went after Sam.
Sonny:
Sam's in Miami.
Carly:
Jason didn't tell you?
Alexis:
I'm sorry, Brook Lynn, you are not responsible for this.
Brook Lynn: I left Kristina alone.
Alexis:
You stepped outside of the room for five minutes. It's not your
fault.
Brook Lynn: I could've helped her.
Alexis:
Sonny is responsible for this. He made her a target because he demanded
that she be a part of his life, and now she's paying the price.
Ric:
When did you get here?
Brook Lynn: He came to check on me.
Ric:
How'd you get in?
Diego:
I jumped the fence.
Alexis:
Couldn't even keep a teenage boy out of this house.
Diego:
Jason thought I called for a diversion, but I --
Alexis:
Sonny and Jason have no idea where Kristina is. Sonny doesn't want
me to call the police because he knows once we find her, he will
never be allowed near her again.
Stan:
The system kept crashing, but it doesn't make any sense. I installed
it all myself.
Jason:
Well, apparently, a lot of people helped. Who did most of the work?
Stan:
Rollo, but I did all the programming.
Jason:
Was he around when you set the codes?
Stan:
Come to think of it, he was.
Jason:
Ok, come to think of it, he may have figured them out, because he
was working the front gate tonight.
Max:
Wait, wait, wait, wait, I put him on the house after Kristina disappeared.
Rollo knew the house better than anyone.
Jason:
Ok, well, Max, you got to find him, ok? I need to know who he's
really working for.
Max:
All right.
Sonny:
All right, you're going to be going with your mom in a little bit.
Michael:
Ok.
Sonny:
If you remember anything, ok, something comes up -- I don't care
if it's big, small, whatever -- you let me know.
Michael:
I will.
Sonny:
We will be over there in a hurry, ok?
Michael:
Ok.
Sonny:
All right.
Carly:
Michael's getting scared.
Sonny:
Yeah, I know. I want him out of here, but what's going on with Sam?
Carly:
Jason saw her in an alley tonight.
Sonny:
Does Sam know that Jason saw her?
Carly:
Yeah. She yelled at him. She told him to leave her alone but --
Sonny, it makes sense. Sam has lost two babies inside the span of,
what, two months, and all she's got left now is the knowledge that
Kristinas life has been saved by her own unborn child. She's
got to feel some kind of connection. Maybe it was too much for her.
Maybe Sam just snapped.
Jason:
Sonny? Ok, Rollo was working the gate tonight, ok? He was in the
house right after Kristina disappeared. Rollo also helped Stan install
the security system. He might've figured out the access code. Now
Rollo has disappeared. Stan is running a check on Rollo's bank account.
Max sent somebody over to his --
Sonny:
Forget Rollo for one minute. Forget Rollo for one minute. There's
somebody else who knows how to crack the safe, who has strong motivation
to take Kristina, and I'm -- maybe you want to protect her.
Jason:
Sonny, what are you talking about?
Sonny:
Why didn't you tell me about Sam?
Alexis:
Not calling the police is absolutely insane. Every minute that we
waste is an advantage for the kidnapper.
Ric:
Not necessarily.
Alexis:
Why are you fighting me on this?
Ric:
I'm trying to help you.
Alexis:
And how would that be working?
Ric:
Well, this is all going exactly as you predicted -- almost as if
you arranged it yourself.
Alexis:
And why would I do that?
Ric:
To prove that Sonny's a danger to his daughter. Is that what happened,
Alexis? Did you take Kristina?
Alexis:
How could you accuse me of that?
Ric:
I'm not accusing you, all right? I'm offering to help before this
thing gets out of hand, all right? So if you did take Kristina,
there's still time to arrange for her to be found. I'll cover for
you with Sonny, all right? He never has to know that you were involved.
Your plan might even work. You know, since you didn't have anything
to do with it, he may actually agree to distance himself from Kristina.
Alexis:
Stop it. You know how much I love her and you know that I would
never do anything like this to her.
