"This is Ms. Davis' Vain Attempt at a Mating Dance"

Faith: Don't you look inspiring.

Ric: Hmm.

Faith: The conscientious public servant hard at work, keeping Port Charles safe for its taxpaying citizens.

Ric: What do you want, Faith?

Faith: Well, to offer my personal thanks, of course. We both know that if you had fought Alexis on the continuance she suggested, I would be in Pentonville. So why the sudden attack of mercy? Is it because you have a soft spot for me, or my attorney?

Ric: Ms. Davis just made a compelling argument to delay the trial.

Faith: Yeah. We both know that the only reason you are taking this case to court is to get under Alexis' skin.

Ric: That's not the only reason.

Faith: What angle are you working here?

Ric: Hmm?

Faith: Alexis clearly isn't your type. Of course, she wasn't Sonny's type, either, and he managed to take her over the moon at least once. Of course.

Ric: What? What?

Faith: Sonny seduced the unseduceable. He got the most repressed, neurotic, romance-challenged woman in town into bed, and you have to prove you can do the same.

Ric: Ok. You know what, Faith; I don't why I'm going to give you this advice, but pay attention. You shouldn't be walking around the streets free, so don't question it or else somebody might change their mind and put you in prison where you belong. Ok?

[Knock on door]

Alexis: Hi, Courtney. Your assistant said it was ok to come in?

Courtney: Sure. Can I -- can I do something for you?

Alexis: Jax hired me to do some legal work for him. He said that he's participating in a nonprofit foundation that you're working on?

Courtney: Yeah, that's right.

Alexis: His primary concern is that it remains legitimate, so that would mean excluding your brother and your ex-husband and, of course, any monetary contributions that they would make.

Courtney: Ok, look, I have been over this with Jax. I assured him that Sonny and Jason have no involvement with the foundation. Either he believes me or he doesn’t.

Jax: Of course I believe you. Courtney's reason for bringing me in was legitimacy.

Alexis: Well, all right, then. That's good. We're all on the same page. So the next thing we need to talk about is Carly, so we need to discount her participation, as well.

Courtney: Why?

Alexis: She's Sonny's wife and she's also a criminal in her own right.

Courtney: Carly is also my closest friend, and if she chooses to take an active part in the foundation, I will welcome her help. If either of you disagree with that, the door works both ways.

Alexis: Here's my advice -- if Courtney sticks to this position, she's not going to be able to achieve her goals, as admirable as they are, without the specter of the mob hovering over every move that she makes. My advice is that this is brewing trouble that you neither need or want.

[Knock on door]

Ric: Courtney. I'd like a minute of your time, please.

Courtney: Who said it was ok for you to barge into my office in the middle of a meeting?

Ric: Well, your assistant wasn't at her desk. I'm here on official business. I have reason to believe you're starting up a nonprofit corporation for the purposes of money laundering.

Alexis: Why is it that you eventually always show up wherever I am?

Ric: Well, I think you need to ask yourself that question. I assume that you filed all the appropriate paperwork to set up this foundation of yours?

Courtney: Of course, through my attorney.

Ric: Good. I'll need to see copies, just to make sure that the information you submitted is correct.

Alexis: That is not your job. Checking incorporation papers is the job of the state attorney general's office. Now, if this were a criminal matter, I would expect someone from the PCPD fraud unit to maybe show up and take a look -- which is still not your job because you are the D.A. --

Ric: Hmm.

Alexis: As woefully incompetent as you are at that job.

Ric: Oh.

Alexis: But your job is to prosecute cases that already exist.

Ric: Well, I'm at least competent enough to come close to getting a conviction on your latest criminal client, Faith Rosco -- that is, before you panicked --

Alexis: I did not panic at all.

Ric: Then why the stall, Alexis? Why did you file a continuance in the middle of a trial? If you're so confident in your litigation skills, it'd already be to the jury by now -- unless, of course, you're just trying to stay in close proximity to me.

Alexis: All right, do you have any concept of how obnoxious you actually are?

Ric: Look, you are painfully transparent in this. You extend the Rosco matter, and then you insert yourself into Courtney’s foundation, knowing full well I'm going to investigate. I mean, what's next, Alexis, bubblegum on my chair?

Courtney: Ok, you know what, I'm sure Jax is just as fascinated as I am with all this, but what does it have to do with the charity?

Ric: Nothing at all. This is Ms. Davis' vain attempt at a mating dance.
