"Are you claustrophobic, Mr. Corinthos?"

Ric: Your Honor, Mr. Corinthos and I are half brothers. We share an adversarial relationship at best. I'd like permission from the court to treat him as a hostile witness.

Judge: I'll grant the request.

Ric: Thank you, your honor. Furthermore, the witness has intimate knowledge of both the defendant and counsel. Mr. Corinthos, isn't it true that you had a sexual relationship with the woman sitting right over there?

Alexis: Objection, your honor, the sexual history of my witness has no relevance on this case.

Ric: No, no, no, it goes to his reliability of testimony.

Judge: I'll allow it.

Sonny: Well -- ahem -- I'm not exactly sure which one you're referring to. But I never had sex with Faith Rosco.

Ric: I see. Well, what about Ms. Davis?

Sonny: Well, yeah, once.

Ric: Mm-hmm. And that one night has had lasting consequences. Isn't that right, Mr. Corinthos?

Alexis: I am asking the court to dismiss Mr. Corinthos as a witness. He is neither a partner nor does he have any interest in the Haunted Star. He is a patron that frequents it on occasion, so I think it's safe to assume that there is no testimony of his that could be relevant to this case. Mr. Lansing brought him in here as an attempt to intimidate me personally.

Ric: With all due respect, your honor, opposing counsel seeMs to think that the world revolves around her. Try to grasp this, ok -- we are not here to work through some sort of imaginary vendetta that you seem to think that I have against you. We are here to prosecute your client for money laundering, all right? I put Mr. Corinthos on the stand because he can knowledgeably speak to Mrs. Rosco's history of criminal activity.

Judge: Your motion is denied, Ms. Davis. Continue with the witness.

Ric: Thank you. Now, Mr. Corinthos, is it safe to say that after that one night of sex with Ms. Davis --

Alexis: Objection!

Ric: It has had lasting consequences?

Alexis: Your Honor, counsel just got through saying that he wasn't interested in my personal life --

Ric: Your Honor, how am I supposed to build a foundation if Ms. Davis keeps leaping to her feet, shrieking "objection" at every single question I ask?

Alexis: Objection to that, as well.

Judge: Objection overruled, but get to the point, Mr. Lansing.

Ric: Absolutely. I will try this a different way. Does defense counsel have a personal bias against you?

Sonny: Yes.

Ric: Ok. As a result of that one night?

Sonny: Uh -- yeah, well, yeah. Mainly that, yeah.

Ric: So since that ill-fated encounter, has Ms. Davis made it a point to publicly humiliate you or attack you in a public place?

Sonny: Yes, Ric, on several occasions.

Ric: All right, I would like to call the court's attention to the witness' last answer. When Ms. Davis begins her cross-examination, she will have conflicting motives -- to act on her client's behalf, most assuredly -- she is at least that much of a professional -- but she is also a woman scorned and is looking for an opportunity to lash out at the man who dumped her.

Alexis: This is outrageous. Objection!

Sonny: There was no secrecy involved. Faith Rosco, she told me straight up that she bought into the Haunted Star for the purpose of -- ahem -- laundering money.

Ric: Mm-hmm. So did Ms. Rosco say whether Skye Quartermaine or Luke Spencer were complicit in this plan?

Sonny: Actually, she did not mention either of them, no.

Ric: Ok. Thank you. That's all I have, your honor.

Judge: Mr. Corinthos, you may step down.

Sonny: Thank you.

Judge: We'll take a brief recess before Ms. Davis begins cross-examination. Reconvene in 20 minutes.

[Judge pounds gavel]

Faith: Hey, your scary brilliance, were you awake just now or did you miss it, because Sonny just gave Ric everything he needs to get a conviction against me.

Alexis: Don't worry, I'll handle it.

Faith: Yeah, well, you'd better because I have no intention of going to jail because you were too distracted by Sonny to do your job.

Alexis: When you get back up there, I’m going to lead you into a way to retract your testimony.

Sonny: You want me to lie?

Alexis: I am offering you a way out, and I suggest that you take it or when you get back up there, I am going to have to rip you apart.

Sonny: Come at me if you want, Alexis. Take your best shot. I got nothing to hide.

Alexis: We both know that isn't true.

Sonny: I'm not as fragile as you think I am. You're not going to break me or make me lose my cool. The best bet for you? Ask me some harmless questions; get me off the stand as soon as possible. You don't want to get me angry.

Alexis: Have you ever made any sexual overtures toward Ms. Rosco?

Sonny: Not at all.

Alexis: Isn't it true that you once ripped the dress off her body?

Sonny: Well, it wasn't her dress. She was wearing my wife's dress. She knew better not to wear it.

Alexis: And you thought ripping the dress off her body was an appropriate response?

Sonny: Absolutely.

Alexis: Did it make you angry when Ms. Rosco had your wife's dress on?

Sonny: Absolutely.

Alexis: Do you have a problem with anger, Mr. Corinthos?

Sonny: Uh -- at times.

Alexis: Do you sometimes get so angry that you become irrational?

Sonny: No.

Alexis: Do you throw things?

Sonny: Um -- at times.

Alexis: Do you break things?

Sonny: Uh -- at times, yeah.

Alexis: Do you lose time?

Sonny: Time? Wait, I don't understand what you're saying.

Alexis: Do you sometimes get so angry that you don't know what you're doing or where you are?

Sonny: No, never.

Alexis: Have you ever lost your reason?

Sonny: Never.

Alexis: Are you claustrophobic, Mr. Corinthos?

Ric: Objection, Your Honor. This is the height of irrelevance. Whether or not the witness is a hot-tempered claustrophobic has no bearing on Ms. Rosco's defense. Ms. Davis is using this trial in order to mount a personal attack against Mr. Corinthos.

Judge: Sustained. Ms. Davis, keep your cross-examination relevant to the case or I’ll dismiss Mr. Corinthos.

Alexis: Of course, your honor. Do you have a vested interest in Mrs. Rosco going to prison?

Sonny: Not at all.

Alexis: She's a business competitor, isn't she?

Sonny: Not that I know, unless she's expanded her interests into coffee importing.

Alexis: Have you ever been arrested for RICO violations, Mr. Corinthos?

Sonny: Uh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, several times, but I've never been convicted because my lawyer always got me acquitted. She believed in my innocence. She always told me that I was a good and principled man.

Alexis: I have no further questions, your honor.

Faith: Exactly what case are you trying here, Alexis, because it sure as hell isn't mine.

Ric: Redirect, your honor. Mr. Corinthos, is this attorney who had such a strong belief in your innocence -- is she present in this courtroom?

Sonny: Alexis Davis, the counsel for the defense.

Ric: Thank you. That's all. Lona?

Alexis: The issue in question here is Faith's innocence or guilt, not my romantic life.

Ric: Well, if that's what you can call it. You seem to express attraction like some sort of 9-year-old schoolgirl, picking fights and throwing insults around. What happens when you reach your crescendo? Do you punch the object of your affection in the arm?

Alexis: Clearly, you're defensive about your impotence in the courtroom.

Ric: Oh.

Alexis: Otherwise, you wouldn't be overcompensating --

Ric: I see.

Alexis: By making personal attacks on me.

Ric: Here come the insults, right on cue.

Alexis: That's right.

Ric: Alexis, if you want to ask me out for a drink, why don't you just come right out like a big girl and ask me instead of resorting to school-yard tactics?

Alexis: I would rather die of thirst than ever have a drink with you.

Faith: You were flirting with her.

Ric: Hmm.

Faith: You're trying to get Alexis to like you.

Ric: Why would I do that?
