"I Will Miss My Nephew for the Rest of My Life"

At Nikolas's memorial service.

Ric: I'm sorry about Nikolas.

Alexis: Thank you. I know how close you two were. Why are you here?

Ric: Look, Elizabeth and Nikolas were good friends. I figured since she couldn't be here, I should be.

Alexis: I understand that she left you. My condolences.

Ric: Since when are you so concerned with my personal life?

Alexis: Would you do me a favor? Try not to be unobtrusive. There are people here who actually loved Nikolas and don't want to be upset any more than they already are.

In front of the mourners

Alexis: I was holding my daughter last night, and I was thinking, "What would be the most impressive thing that I could tell her about Nikolas?" And I knew right away that it was his capacity to love. He had wisdom beyond his years about love. He loved so generously and so genuinely. I really, truly think that he believed that it could conquer all odds. And I know that he believed that it could rise strong and steady before people who would continually try to tear it down. I will miss my nephew for the rest of my life. I'm so glad he loved you, Emily.
