9, 2004 Transcript On the Haunted Star, Skye's Casino. Alexis: I got your message. I came here as soon as I can. What's the emergency? Jax: First thing, I'm so sorry about Nikolas. Skye: Oh, so am I. If there's anything that I can do -- Alexis: Thank you. This can't be why you dragged me out on a night like this. Skye: Jax, maybe this wasn't such a great idea. Jax: No, Alexis is the best attorney I know. If anyone can help, she can. Sam: (gambling elsewhere in the casino) Whoo! Yes! Come to mama! Skye: You know, it's probably too late to change anything, anyway. Alexis: So I assume this legal difficulty is yours? Jax: Think of me as a bridge that's going to put a client in need together with a brilliant attorney who can win her case. Alexis: Are you drunk? Jax: At least hear Skye out. Try not to kill each other. At the bar. Alexis: Hi. Could I have a glass of water, please? Sonny: Shouldn't you be home with your daughter? Alexis: Make that a vodka martini, dry, please. Sonny: It's just an observation. I mean, you don't have much room to criticize other people's fitness as parents. Alexis: I was doing the job that your wife paid me to do. Sonny: You -- you tried to break me on that stand, and it did not work, did it? Well, you know what, Alexis? It's ok, because, see, I don't -- I don't really hold grudges. In my life, one way or the other, the scales usually balance themselves out. Ric: Is there a problem here? Sonny: No. Counselor and I were just discussing the scales of justice. But since you both are such experts, I’ll let you two talk. Ric: What's going on between you and Sonny? Alexis: Nothing. Ric: You know, Alexis, I don't mean to pry, but you defended Sonny at one point. You know how he deals with his enemies. Why'd you go out of your way to make yourself one of them by defending Carly? Alexis: I don't have to justify my choice of clients to you. Ric: No. I'm just surprised you would take that kind of a risk. I mean, representing Carly after you slept with her husband, that's more than a case of conflict of interest. Alexis: You don't like Sonny, and I'm not fond of him at the moment. Go find yourself another playmate. I'm not interested in a vendetta. The farther I stay away from him, the better. Ric: Yeah, it's Lansing. I got a job for you.
