"She's Beautiful"

At the courthouse, in the lobby.

Alexis: Where'd you put your lamby? I don't know where you left it, ok? Will you let mommy do a few more things, and then we'll go back and look for it, I promise, ok?

Ned: Oh, looks like I might be the hero here.

Alexis: Oh -- oh.

Ned: Lamby, right?

Alexis: You know what?

[Ned chuckles]

Alexis: You're more than a hero. Thank you.

Ned: I found it on the floor around the corner. There you go.

Alexis: There you go, monkey. Ooh!

Ned: I remember lamby when she was at the house. Hey, do I at least get a hug for the rescue? Want to give me a hug? Do you mind?

Alexis: That's ok. Oh, look at her, checking it out.

Ned: She's getting so big.

Alexis: Well, I water her every day.

[Ned and Alexis chuckle]

Ned: I was hoping to find you here.

Alexis: What's up?

Ned: Well, I'd like to retain your services for a plea of mental incompetence -- not for me.

Alexis: I'm assuming you're talking about Edward.

Ned: Yes.

Alexis: I can't, because I'm -- I'm tied up. I'm representing Carly in a custody case.

Ned: Carly? Why?

Alexis: Because she's making me.

Ned: Now, I can't think of one reason why you'd want to cooperate with Carly.

[Ned sighs]

Ned: Don't tell me -- she found out about the paternity.

Alexis: I told her.

Ned: Why?

Alexis: Because I was trapped in that elevator with her and I thought I was going to die. And the truth is it would've been much simpler for me if she had.

Alexis: (to Kirstina, who's coloring on a bench) You're a wonderful artist, and you're also such a good girl coming to work with mommy. And you know what? As soon as I'm done, we're going to go out for dinner. You can have chocolate-chocolate cake for dessert, ok? (gets up to talk to Walker) Oh -- Walker, Walker? Will you do me a huge favor? I've got my daughter here, I need to get her home, and I need to get this to Judge Marland. So will you do me a favor and drop this off to him?

Walker: No problem, Ms. Davis.

Alexis: Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. Thanks a lot, Walker. (turns to see that Kristina is missing) Kristina? Honey?

Alexis turns the corner and sees Kristina with her FATHER, Sonny!

Sonny: (to Kristina) Hi.

Alexis: You haven't seen her in a while. This is Kristina.

Sonny: She's beautiful. Beautiful eyes. You must love her very much.

Alexis: I do.

[Kristina coos]

Alexis: I would do pretty much anything for her.

Sonny: Yeah.

Kristina: Mommy, more.

Alexis: There's more, sweetie. Here you go.

Sonny: You know, this --

Alexis: There you go, baby.

Sonny: Bonding thing you and Carly have all of a sudden? This sisterhood of motherly love? Anybody ever tell you about a father's love? A mother fights for her children, a father wages full-scale war. A man's family is everything. It's his pride, his legacy. It's what he's accomplished in this world. More important than the money he's earned or the power he's gained. A man's family is his identity. If you force his hand, he just doesn't want to win. He will have to destroy everything and everyone who gets in his way.

Alexis: Thank god for estrogen, huh? This doesn't have to be a battleground. I want you to take this advice in the spirit in which it's given.

Sonny: Mm-hmm?

Alexis: Compromise.

Sonny: Joint custody is out of the question. I will not share my sons with an unfit mother and her freaky lover any more than you would share Kristina with a father who didn't deserve her.
