"No Easy Way Out For Zander"

Zander: Stay back or I swear I will shoot her.

Alexis: No, you won’t.

Zander: You willing to bet Maxie’s life on that?

Alexis: No, but I'm willing to bet my own. If you want to get out of here, you're going to have to shoot me first.

Cameron: Alexander, put the gun down.

Alexis: You're only making things worse, Zander.

Zander: Could things be any worse?

Cameron: I won't let you go to prison for this.

Zander: Sure. You've done such a good job of protecting me in the past.

Cameron: You carried your brother's death too long. I want to make amends.

Zander: Damage is done, dad.

Cameron: I can't change the past! I can make sure you don't suffer for somebody else's mistake again.

Alexis: Zander, we will go down to the police with you. It's your best chance.

Cameron: Please, I lost one son. You're all I have left.

Alexis: Your father and I, we'll go down to the police station with you.

Zander: Lansing is framing me.

Alexis: Then I’ll negotiate with Baldwin.

Zander: Forget it.

Cameron: It's your only option, Alexander.

Zander: Brian Beck admitted that Lansing pushed him to accuse me as the shooter. Lansing wants me behind bars. And no deal between you and Scott Baldwin is going to keep him from putting me away.

Alexis: You signed documents saying you wouldn't pursue custody of Elizabeth’s baby.

Zander: You think Lansing trusts me? He thinks I'm going to find some loophole, and that every time that I want something I'm going to hold this custody thing over their heads.

Alexis: Baldwin is Lansing’s superior. Ric is going to have to abide by whatever terms Scott agrees to.

Zander: Alexis, my life is on the line. I need something from Lansing in writing saying that he will stay out of this.

Cameron: We'll handle it.

Alexis: I want you to stay here. I'm going to contact a judge and I'm going to start the paperwork to bar Lansing from your case. All right? Let's go.

Maxie: No, I'm going to stay with Zander, Alexis.

Alexis: I don't think that would be wise, Maxie.

Maxie: He wasn't really threatening to shoot me.

Zander: It was a setup. Maxie agreed to play along.

Alexis: Maxie could be in a lot of trouble for that.

Zander: I don't plan on telling anybody that she's helped me. You won't, either, right?

Alexis: I'm going to start the paperwork. The sooner I get that going, the better it is for everybody.

Cameron: I'm going to get you through this.

Zander: Just like always, right dad?

Cameron: I don't blame you for doubting me, but I’m going to prove you wrong.

Maxie: I'm really glad you've decided to turn yourself in.

Zander: Who says I’m turning myself in?

Maxie: You just said that you were going to --

Zander: I got to get the hell out of here, and I need your help.

Auctioneer: Yes, 14.4 million. I'm looking for 14.5, 14.5. Looking for 14 -- 14.5, right here on the aisle, ok. We're looking for 14.6, 14.6. 14,600,000 in the back, thank you very much.

Nikolas: Where have you been?

Alexis: I'm sorry. I have a problem with a client, and I was on the phone with Judge Archer, and I’m afraid I’m going to have to leave early, so I really apologize.

Nikolas: All right. Well, in the meantime, will you keep your eye on Helena? Tracy Quartermaine's already tried to steal the treasure once. I'm sure she's next.

Auctioneer: 16.2, 16.2? 16.2. 16.3?

Lucky: Dr. Lewis, I’m sorry, but this is a private auction going on.

Cameron: Then I’m sure you don't want a scene. I need to see Alexis. It's important.

Auctioneer: 16.4 over here, sir, thank you.

Lucky: Go ahead.

Auctioneer: 16.5? 16,500,000 --

Cameron: I hope you're enjoying your evening. I'm sure my son isn’t.

Alexis: I've put in calls to Judge Archer and Scott Baldwin. I'm waiting to hear back from them, and then as soon as --

Cameron: Why wait? Ric Lansing’s right over there.

Alexis: I thought the object was to avoid Lansing.

Cameron: The object is to save my son's life. That means negotiating directly with Ric. I suggest you do it.

Auctioneer: 17 million --

Auctioneer: 18 million. We're looking for $18 million. 18 million right here on the aisle, thank you.

Alexis: Judge Hughes, it's a pleasure to see you again. If it's all right with you, I'd like to have a word with Mr. Lansing for a minute?

Auctioneer: 18.2? 18.2? 18.3?

Ric: You'll excuse me for a moment, judge.

Auctioneer: 18.4. 18.4.

Ric: Is this about Zander?

Cameron: That's right.

Auctioneer: There we go -- 18.4 on the aisle.

Ric: Has your son tried to contact you?

Alexis: We know where Zander is.

Ric: Where?

Auctioneer: 18,500,000 --

Alexis: He's agreed to surrender himself under certain conditions.

Ric: He's in no position to negotiate. Listen, if you two don't turn him over to me, I'm going to charge you with obstruction of justice, not to mention aiding and abetted an alleged criminal.

Alexis: The operative word being "alleged." Zander hasn't been convicted of a crime.

Ric: Detective Beck saw him, all right, and I am not negotiating with anybody who shoots a cop.

Alexis: Zander has agreed to turn himself in with written assurance from you that you will recuse yourself from this case.

Ric: Out of the question.

Alexis: You have a clear conflict of interest, Ric -- your wife happens to be pregnant with Zander’s baby.

Cameron: If you prosecute the case, there's no way my son can get a fair trial.

Alexis: There won't even be a trial because once I point out your obvious bias, the presiding judge will question why you were ever allowed to prosecute the case in the first place.

Cameron: As A.D.A., I'm sure you'll want to see justice done.

Ric: Of course.

Alexis: Then you agree to recuse yourself?

Ric: All right. I'll go back to the office; I'll draw up the papers.

Cameron: What now?

Alexis: We wait for an affidavit to be filed.

Cameron: In the meantime, my son's a fugitive. We're so close to getting him in safely; I don't want anything to go wrong.

Alexis: There's only so much I can do. Even if he didn't shoot the detective, he fired a gun point-blank at Jax, and if the gun hadn't jammed, Jax would be dead.

Cameron: You think he should be punished?

Alexis: No, I just want to point out to you that there is no easy way out for Zander.
