"I'll Work On It"

Alexis is at the nurses' station when Luke approaches her from behind. He's waving a legal document in his hand.

Luke: Tell that nephew of yours, if he expects to stop me, he's going to have to get a little more creative. (Tears up the document) This blue-backed piece of garbage is not going to do it. (Throws the pieces of paper)

Alexis: That blue-backed piece of garbage of which I have another copy is legal and is binding, Luke, and you and lucky are ordered to stay away from Nikolas.

Luke: Fair warning, Natasha -- you got too much to lose to be on the wrong side of this battle.

Alexis: Did it ever occur to you, Luke, that I might be on your side?

Alexis: Nikolas was ill advised. But maybe that's because he isn't seasoned at the Spencer-Cassadine war. Maybe he thinks that you all still have the ability to reason with each other.

Luke: Reason? There's no acceptable reason for what he did.

Alexis: How about the fact that he's young, Luke? How about the fact that he made a mistake?

Luke: That's not good enough, Alexis. He always accuses me of being responsible for Laura's breakdown. When she asked to see me, it was him who denied me access.

Alexis: What happened was horrible -- I admit it -- but it isn't going to ease your pain by acting like a jerk. Haven't you learned that by now?

Luke: It doesn't sound to me like you're on my side at all.

Alexis: I am not nurturing the next generation of Spencer-Cassadine casualties, you are, and you're doing it in the name of your wife. Shame on you.

Luke follows Alexis into the lounge.

Luke: Look, Alexis, I didn't fire this cannon. I was minding my own business, trying to get through another day without my wife when I was suddenly ambushed by restraining orders and attorneys. Now, if this is another Spencer-Cassadine go-around, I got two things to say to you. Number one, you can thank your nephew and not me, and, number two, bring it the hell on because I got nothing to lose.

Alexis: Forgive me, Luke, but you are so full of it. You think you're the only person who has rage? You think you're the only person who understands rage? You think it doesn't have consequences? It does. I lost my daughter. I lost my job. Whether or not you've lost Laura remains to be seen. For god's sake, haven't we had enough?

Luke: Look, I like you, Natasha, but we are not comrades in rage. One time you got mad and offed some guy who deserved it. I've been fighting for everything that's mine since the day I was born. Now, you don't want to get hurt, you just stay the hell out of the way.

Luke storms off.

Skye and Jax return from walking Kristina through the garden in her pram. They talk about what it might mean for Skye not to be a Quartermaine after all. Alexis walks in during the conversation.

Alexis: Reginald let me in. I'm here to see the baby.

Skye: Oh, yeah. Alice just put Kristina down for her nap. Jax and I had taken her out for a little stroll through the garden. She loved it.

Alexis: You took my baby out?

Skye: Well, yeah, just for a little stroll.

Alexis: Are you insane? (Turns to Jax) Are you insane for letting this woman within five feet of my daughter?

Skye: Well, Alexis, I just took her out for a little walk, and I will not apologize for taking an interest in her.

Jax: Right.

Alexis: You are a drunk and a pathological liar, and I don't want you anywhere near my dau--

Jax: (Interrupting angrily) Ok, Alexis, you know what? That's enough. Just back off.

Alexis looks up at him surprised.

Alexis: Have I done something to upset you?

Jax: I just want you to get a grip. Now, this didn't start out as a big conspiracy against you, Alexis. You killed a man, and you didn't go to prison for it. And your only punishment was to lose custody of your daughter to her relatives while you get better -- relatives who happen to love Kristina, by the way, regardless of their faults. And now you even manage to get visitation rights when the court originally ruled against it. So all I'm saying is, is that you're very lucky and you should be a little bit more grateful.

Alexis: (Perplexed) I'll work on it.

Jax: Good.

Alexis walks out completely confused.

Skye: Wow. I don't know what to say.

Jax: I love Alexis, but she is very stubborn. And she needed to hear that. And as for Tracy -- you know what? Don't worry about a thing. I am not going to let her ruin anything for you, ok?

Skye: Ok.

Jax: All right.
