Scotty lures Skye to his office so that he can plant a "bug" on her coat in the hopes of finding out who she saw in Alcazar's room the night of the murder.

Alexis is at the nurses' station at the hospital leaning on the counter speaking to a nurse.

Alexis: Do you think maybe you could check on her and see if she's been fed?

Cameron walks up the hall toward Alexis.

Nurse: Oh, I'm sure she has.

Alexis: Oh, but I would feel so much better if you would just check and then come back in a minute.

Nurse: No problem.

Alexis: Thank you.

Cameron walks up behind her.

Cameron: What's this, remote motherhood from the lobby?

Alexis: It was your idea.

Cameron: Oh, transference -- that's always a good ploy.

Alexis: You told me that my baby isn't safe with me.

Cameron: No, I said you weren't ready to take your baby home. I never said you couldn't see her.

Alexis: What happens if something happens to me when I'm with her?

Cameron: I'll stay with you.

Alexis: Think that's a good idea?

Cameron: I'll be agreeable. (He smiles)

Alexis: That would be a first.

Cameron: Alexis, you're going to get through this. Nobody has to know what's really going on.

Alexis: Why are you doing this for me?

Scotty eggs on Skye by telling her she's his main suspect and he might arrest her by the end of the week. Skye says she'll get the proof that she's innocent. She rushes off with the "bug" attached to her coat.

Cameron: Well, I don't stumble across Dissociative Identity Disorder every day.

Alexis: I'm glad I could be a good case study for you.

Cameron: Yeah, call it what you want.

Alexis: Didn't work that well for Luke, did it?

Cameron: Not to mention my own family.

Alexis: At least you managed to get through your crisis without creating a homicidal second personality.

Cameron: I still have Alexander to answer for.

Alexis: He's a great kid, Cameron.

Cameron: I wish you could have known my other son. See how I think? I wish I didn't.

Alexis: Well, it makes me feel better to know we're both a mess.

Cameron: Well, maybe your daughter won't notice.

Alexis: At least not for a while.

Cameron: Let's go see her before she catches on.

They walk off each with an arm around the other.

Jax sits on a bench at the docks when Skye arrives.

Skye: Jax! (She runs down the steps and he stands up) Thank you for waiting. I didn't know if I should even call you, but I didn't know what else to do.

Jax: So just tell me what happened.

Skye: Well, Baldwin is coming after me for murder.

Jax: What about Felicia's suspect?

Skye: Oh, she has an alibi or something. I don't know. What does it matter, because Baldwin thinks that I did it and he's going to come after me. I have to tell him. I don't have a choice.

Jax: Tell him what?

Skye: (Nervously and reluctantly) I tried to tell you, you know, the day I saw the room decorated for the wedding and the night you asked me about it again, but Felicia -- I thought that she bought us more time, so I --

Jax: Do you know who killed Alcazar?

Skye: (Shakes her head) You're not going to believe me.

Jax: Do you remember seeing a face?

Skye: I know that I have lied so many times, but I swear this is the truth.

Jax: Tell me.

Skye: (Walking away from him) Well, you know that I've tried to remember so, so badly, I have, and --

Jax: Skye, tell me.

Skye: And all I remember is a woman running away. I saw her running toward her doctor, and then it just hit me! It told me it was her!

Jax: Do you know who killed Alcazar?

Skye: Alexis.

Jax looks at her in disbelief.

(Camera switches to Scott's office where he and Taggert sit at the desk watching the sound technician tune in Skye's bug so they can listen to her.)

Scott: You want to keep your job? You want your pension? Get the light going.

Taggert: He's doing the best he can.

Scott: Well, I don't see anything happening, Taggert. (The radio suddenly spring to life) Ah! Ok. All right. (It goes dead again) What happened?

(Camera switches back to the docks)

Jax: Why should I believe you?

Skye: I -- Jax, I know that you shouldn't, but I swear I saw her run out of that hotel room.

Jax: She must have an alibi for that night.

Skye: I - (laughs uncomfortably) I know, but what?

(Camera switches back to Scott's office)

Taggert: There. It seems to be working just fine now.

Scott: (To the radio technician) Thank you very much. You can go now.

The technician gets up and leaves. Taggert turns up the radio volume and he and Scotty listen in.

Jax's voice: You know, maybe you're mistaken.

Skye's voice: Jax, I didn't want to believe it at first, either, but I honestly don't think I am.

Jax's voice: I'm going to need some time for this.

Skye's voice: But -- time? Scott wants to make an arrest. He's going to arrest me by the end of the week. I --

Jax's voice: Skye, I will protect you, ok, no matter what that little weasel Baldwin tries to pull.

Scott: Come on, just give us a name.

(Cameron switches back to Jax and Skye)

Jax: Look, I'm just going to need some time to check this out, ok, find out what happened.

Skye: You want to check out my story?

Jax: Yes, I am going to check out your story.

Skye: I don't blame you. I know how much you care for her, and I want to honor that. But I'm telling you, Jax, I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to hold out.

There's a knock at Alexis' door and she answers it. It's Jax.

Jax: Hey.

Alexis: Hi.

Jax: (Walking in) Doorman let me in.

Alexis: Oh.

Jax: How you doing?

She shuts the door.

Alexis: I heard about what happened with you and Brenda. I'm sorry.

Jax: Yeah, well, it's a good thing that you left early.

Alexis: So, why are you here?

Jax: Baldwin is pushing Skye.

Alexis: I can handle Scott.

Jax: She's pretty scared.

Alexis: Ok, well, tell her I'll call her and she needs to keep quiet.

Jax: He's threatening to press charges.

Alexis starts to become a little nervous.

Alexis: I think that I can stall this until at least the beginning of the summer.

Jax: Alexis, she remembers more about the night.

Alexis: Well, then -- then that's good. Then we need to sit and take a meeting about that.

Jax: She remembers who she saw running from Alcazar's suite.

Alexis: Are you -- are you sure?

He nods.

Jax: She said it was you.

She gets a panicked look and shakes a little. We hear chimes shimmering. Her demeanor suddenly changes and she starts to speak quickly.

Alexis: [As Kristina] You know, that's exactly the kind of thing I was talking about. (She walks around him) I mean, she works her tail off defending this miserable drunk, and then she turns around --

Jax: (Puzzled) Alexis?

Alexis: And accuses her of murder. Now, is that fair? I don't think that's fair. And all the time that she's spending with Skye, defending her, she's taking time away --

There's a knock at the door.

Alexis: From being with her daughter, which is the most important thing to her. (Walks to the door)

Jax: This is Skye now.

Alexis: It better not be, I tell you that right now.

She opens the door.

Jax: What are you doing?

She shuts the door in Cameron's face but the stops it with his hand.

Alexis: Uh-uh.

Cameron: You're not getting rid of me that easily.

Alexis: I told you to stay away from me, and I told you to stay away from my sister.

She walks away from the door.

Jax: Ok, what the hell is going on?

Alexis: You got to get out, both of you.

Alexis pushes Jax and Cameron out and slams the door on them.

Jax: Alexis, listen --

Alexis: Out.

He turns around to Cameron.

Jax: What is wrong with her?

Cameron: (Clears his throat) Technically, that wasn't Alexis. It was Kristina.

Jax: (Confused) Her sister?

Cameron: An alternate personality that takes over when Alexis feels threatened.

Jax: You know, they told me that you were crazier than your patients, and they're right.

Cameron: Probably.

Jax: Because Alexis is the sanest person I know.

Cameron: She suffered significant trauma as a child.

Jax: Yeah, but she moved on from that.

Cameron: (Shakes his head) Some of those emotions have resurfaced.

Jax: You know, Kristina has nothing to do with this. She was a friend of mine. I helped her find Alexis.

Cameron: Then you know that Alexis saved her life when she was a baby.

Jax: Yeah, Helena killed her mother right in front of her, but, you know, that was a long time ago.

Cameron: Well, when Alcazar left Alexis alone in labor in the snow, it triggered a lot of the old emotions. Alexis broke, Kristina took over.

Jax: This is ridiculous. Forget it. Kristina was nothing like that woman in there.

Cameron: No, Alexis created this version of Kristina to protect her. She appears whenever Alexis feels frightened.

Jax: Oh. And I scared her.

Cameron: What happened?

Jax: I told her that Skye saw her leaving the murder scene.

Cameron: You told her that?

Jax: And that's when she changed. You think Alexis killed Alcazar?

Cameron: Kristina confessed. Alexis doesn't remember anything.

Jax: (Sighs) If Baldwin gets a hold of this --

Cameron: Hmm -- we can't let that happen.

Jax: Alexis is not going to pay for Alcazar's death, and neither will Skye.

Cameron: Can you help me stall for time?

Jax: I'll protect Alexis any way I can and help bring her back.

Cameron knocks on Alexis' closed door.

Cameron: Alexis?

Alexis: [Yelling through the door as Kristina] She's not here.

Cameron: Then may I speak with you for a moment?

Alexis: No.

Cameron: Kristina, you're not helping your sister.

She opens the door and leans out playfully.

Alexis: Says who?

Cameron: Don't you want to know what Jax told me?

Alexis: He's a great guy, isn't he?

Cameron: Well, he's very fond of you.

Alexis: Is that what he said?

Cameron: He's concerned about you and your sister.

Alexis: Yeah? Oh. Well, (walks back into the apartment) maybe he can come help protect us.

Cameron: Well, he needs my help to do that. (Shuts the door behind him)

Alexis: No. No, no, no. No, I don't think he does. (Kneels down in front of the coffee table) I know that I don't, and I certainly know that my sister doesn't.

Cameron: Well, I promised to help protect Alexis.

She starts to light candles on the coffee table.

Alexis: I protect Alexis.

Cameron: By showing up without warning?

Alexis: (Lighting another candle) She needs me.

Cameron: Keeping her confused?

Alexis: There's no need for her to know what happened. (Blows out the match)

He sits down on the couch next to her.

Cameron: Kristina, you know how much Alexis loves her baby.

Alexis: She does.

Cameron: Well, she can't take her home.

Alexis: (Looks at him) Why not?

Cameron: Well, what happens if Alexis gets upset and you take over? What would happen to the baby?

Alexis: I'd take care of the baby. I love the baby.

She gets up and walks toward the desk. Cameron follows her.

Cameron: Well, how do you think the baby feels when you take over? She must miss her mother. You know what that's like, don't you?

Alexis: It's terrible.

Cameron: Alexis needs to find her own way out of this. Give her a chance.

Alexis: Who will protect her?

Cameron: I will, and Jax.

Alexis: This better not be a trick --

Cameron: It isn't.

Alexis: Because I'll know.

Cameron: I understand.

Alexis: Understand this -- if you don't protect her, know that you will never see Alexis again.

Skye waits on the docks for Jax. He finally arrives and she's frantic.

Skye: Jax --

Jax: Skye.

Skye: What happened?

Jax: Have you been out in the freezing cold the whole time?

Skye: Oh, no, no, no, it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter. What did you find out?

(Camera switches to Scotty and Taggert listening on the radio)

Scott: Come on, come on, come on, come on, say it.

Jax's voice: You were right. She's the killer.

Skye's voice: Oh, my God.

Scott: Say the name.

Skye: What should we do?

(Camera switches back to Jax and Skye)

Jax: Well, I don't know that yet. This is a little complicated.

Skye: I -- there's no way that I'm going to go to jail for something that I didn't do.

Jax: Skye, I'm not going to let that happen.

(Camera switches to Scotty grumbling at his desk)

Scott: What else is new? Just say the name!

Jax's voice: You need to hang in there just a little bit longer, ok?

(Camera switches back to Jax and Skye)

Skye: Ok, but I want to help. I just -- I don't know.

Jax: Skye, I am not going to let them hurt you.

Skye: What if Baldwin arrests me for murder?

Jax: Listen, listen to me. You cannot go to the police and tell them that -- that Alexis is the killer.

Scotty and Taggert are shocked.
