"I Think My Lawyer is the Killer"
Alexis
and Skye are going over Skye's case in the lounge at the hospital.
Alexis sees Dr. Navarro at the nurses' station and gets up to speak
with him . She hands Skye some paperwork.
Alexis:
You look this over, and I'll be right back.
Skye:
Oh, sure. Yeah.
Alexis
walks over to the doctor and Skye watches her go.
Suddenly
images from the night of the murder flash in her mind. She remembers
the woman as she looks at Alexis.
A
flash of recognition crosses her face.
She
suddenly remembers that it was Alexis in Alcazar's room that night.
Skye
is stunned and speaks to herself.
Skye:
You?
Felicia
comes off the elevator and sees Skye sitting alone in the lounge.
Felicia:
Skye, I'm glad I caught you. (Sitting down next to Skye)
Have you remembered any more details about the woman you saw the
night that Alcazar was murdered? Any details at all?
Skye
is very nervous and can't answer Felicia.
Felicia:
If her hair was curly, if her hair was straight? Her physique, her
build, how big her shoulders were?
Alexis
comes up to them.
Alexis:
Hi,
Felicia. How are you?
Skye
is obviously very nervous.
Felicia:
I'm fine, thank you. Oh, I don't know if you know, but Jax hired
me to find the woman that murdered Alcazar so Skye could be cleared.
Alexis:
Any
new leads?
Felicia:
I'm following up on the woman that Skye saw the night that Alcazar
was murdered, and I was just asking her if she remembered anything
more.
Alexis
is now sitting in the lounge across from Skye and Felicia making
Skye very nervous.
Skye:
I've told you all that I know. There was a woman -- dark hair, dark
coat, jeans -- and I'm sure that that piece of black material the
police found is probably from her coat. I've tried to remember more
details, but I'm afraid that's the best I can do.
Felicia:
All
right. Then I'll check the surveillance tapes at the hotel and then
crosscheck Alcazar's business contacts.
Skye:
Oh,
you know, I could help you with that legwork.
Felicia
looks over at Alexis and then turns back to Skye.
Felicia:
That's
all right.
Skye:
Oh, Felicia, you must have a ton to do, and I know Alexis would
probably rather be here with her baby instead of dealing with all
this tedious stuff.
Felicia:
I appreciate the offer, but I can handle it.
Felicia
gives Alexis a "goodbye" look and then stands up and leaves.
Skye:
Ok.
Skye
becomes very nervous as Alexis just watches her a moment. She then
gets up and sits next to Skye.
Alexis:
You let me know if you remember anything else.
Skye:
Oh,
absolutely, I will.
Skye
makes a move to leave and Alexis quickly gets some papers out of
her briefcase.
Alexis:
We should go over the transcripts. Do you have a minute?
Skye:
You know what? I really need to get to an A.A. meeting. Could we
maybe do this tomorrow?
Skye
smiles and hurries off.
Skye
arrives at Kelly's. Felicia is waiting for her at a table.
Skye:
Hey, Felicia -- thanks for coming.
She
sits down.
Felicia:
You
wanted me to meet with someone?
Skye:
Yeah, me. I have some new information.
Felicia:
Ok. What is it?
Skye:
Well, I remembered more about that woman who was seen running out
of Alcazar's suite, and I think you're not going to believe this,
but I think it may have been Alexis.
This
stuns Felicia.
Felicia:
Did
you see her face?
Skye:
Well, quickly, in profile.
Felicia:
Could you be wrong about this?
Skye:
Possibly. But I honestly think that it was her.
Felicia:
This just seems incredible.
Skye:
Well, maybe not. I mean, Alexis hated Alcazar. She blamed him for
the death of her sister.
Felicia:
And he left her lying in the snow when she was in labor.
Skye:
It makes perfect sense that Alexis would kill Alcazar. I mean, when
Jax confessed, she rushed to his side to represent him even though
her baby was still in neonatal I.C.U. and then again when Jason
and Brenda were charged with the murder, she represented them. And
when the guilty verdict came out, she could have been the one that
provided that evidence to the police that cleared them without giving
herself up.
Felicia:
She was the first one to see the body in the alley.
Skye:
But now she's agreed to represent me, which is a perfect way for
her to keep covering her tracks. I can't believe this, Felicia.
I think my lawyer is the killer. What am I going to do?
Felicia:
Nothing.
Absolutely nothing. Before we implicate Alexis, we have to be sure.
Alexis
is waiting by the nurses' station when Cameron arrives.
Alexis:
Did you get the test results back?
Cameron:
Yeah, I was just with the technician. We went over the scans thoroughly.
Alexis:
And?
Cameron:
There's
no sign of any abnormality in your brain. (Fear crosses her face)
In other words, Alexis, there's no physical reason for your behavior.
Alexis:
I'll speak to the neurologist myself.
She
begins to walk away but stops when Cameron speaks.
Cameron:
He'll tell you the same thing.
Alexis:
That
may be the case, but I would like to speak to him myself. This is
not your area of expertise.
Cameron:
Alexis, I've seen hundreds of these scans.
Alexis:
I understand that.
Cameron:
You know, most people would be thrilled to find out that there's
nothing wrong with them, but your need to be in control is so strong,
you'd actually prefer a physical reason, wouldn't you?
Alexis:
Do you really think that this line of therapy is helping me right
now? Do you think that speaking to me this way at this particular
time is what I need?
Cameron:
No,
but what you need is to face reality, Alexis. Now, the answer as
to why you've been assuming your sister's personality won't be found
in an x-ray or any other medical test. If, as I suspect, you have
this dissociative disorder, you're going to have to find the courage
to face it and go through therapy -- if not for yourself, then for
the good of your daughter.
Felicia:
Skye
is almost certain that Alexis is the woman she saw the night of
the murder. You don't seem very surprised by that. (Cameron nods
slightly) Do you think that Alexis murdered Alcazar?
Cameron:
It's possible, but she may not remember doing it.
Felicia:
What's
that supposed to mean?
Cameron:
Well,
I can't tell you.
Felicia:
Is Alexis a patient of yours?
Cameron:
Let's
just say I've been privy to some confidential information.
Felicia:
But
if this information has proof that Alexis murdered Alcazar, you're
going to have to come forward and tell the police about it.
Cameron:
No, I don't have any proof. I'm just trying to piece together what
happened that night.
Felicia:
Well, if there's anything I can do to help you --
Cameron:
What
about Alexis' childhood? Did she suffer any serious emotional trauma?
Felicia:
Probably. After all, she is a Cassadine.
Cameron:
Felicia, I need some time. Can you stall the investigation?
Felicia:
Stall it?
Cameron:
Slow it down until I find out what's going on with Alexis.
Felicia:
Well,
my obligation is to Skye. I'm supposed to prove that she's innocent.
Cameron:
Yeah,
I want that, too, but not at the expense of Alexis. This could ruin
her life.
Felicia:
Well, if she's guilty --
Cameron:
If she's guilty, she could lose her child. As a mother yourself,
I'm sure you know what that could be like.
Felicia:
I didn't commit murder.
Cameron:
Felicia,
I may be able to help Alexis. Now, I know what it's like to lose
a child. I don't want her to suffer the same loss.
Felicia:
This
sounds personal.
Cameron:
Yeah. So if you could just sort of sidetrack the investigation until
we're sure, I'd appreciate it. Alexis needs all the time we can
give her.
