"What On Earth Has Happened to You?"

Alexis has interrupted Ned and Faith at Faith's hotel room. Ned is standing with Faith in just a towel.

Ned: What are you doing here?

Alexis: (Waving the envelope that Zander delivered to her) I have something important to discuss with you.

Ned: Is it Kristina? Is she all right?

Alexis: She's fine. Maybe you could get dressed.

Ned: Excuse me.

Ned walks back into the bathroom.

Faith: This must be uncomfortable for you. Why don't you call Ned and arrange a later meeting time?

Alexis: I'm not uncomfortable. Why don't I walk you through what I think is going on here and then you can tell me whether I'm right or wrong. (Faith smirks and then sits down) You're the widow of an alleged mobster who disappeared, rumor has it, under the orders of Sonny Corinthos. I'm guessing that you want revenge, which is the common ground that brought you and Ned together. How am I doing so far?

Faith stands up and walks toward the bed.

Faith: What business is it of yours what's brought us together?

Alexis walks up behind her.

Alexis: The fact that you think a good place to have sex with the father of my child is on the Elm Street pier.

Faith turns around and glares at Alexis.

In Argentina, Sonny finds out that Ric knew Alcazar and was bent on killing him for revenge. Alcazar had put in jail.

Faith speaks as she makes the bed.

Faith: My arrangement with Ned has nothing to do with Sonny or revenge. We met, had an immediate chemical connection and no reason at all not to act on it.

Ned walks out of the bathroom buttoning his shirt.

Ned: We're both consenting adults. (Stands next to Faith) And really, Alexis, what we do together is none of your concern.

Alexis: Separate lives is just fine with me. Zander delivered your payment of Kristina's medical bills. You know very well that I don't need your financial support and I know very well what you are up to. (Walks to an end table) Given the choices that you're making, Ned, and the threat that I'm feeling, (sets the envelope down on the table) I don't want you to see Kristina any longer.

Ned walks up to her and touches her.

Ned: Alexis, Alexis? Kristina is my daughter, too, and I have the legal right to see her and spend time with her and I want to contribute financially, as well.

Alexis: (Softly)I don't want to fight you. But if you try to see her, I will bring you and your inappropriate behavior to family court.

Ned signs angrily and then straights up smugly.

Ned: You may want to rethink that (he turns and looks at her) because I can also tell the family court some things that you may not want them to hear, (Alexis goes limp with fear) secrets that I've kept for you, and all I'm asking in return is access to Kristina. You fight me on this and you won't like the consequences.

Alexis: (Her voice cracking with emotion) What on earth has happened to you?

She walks out. Ned turns and looks at the door and sighs. Faith approaches him.

Faith: Why do I suddenly think this affair has less to do with revenge on Sonny than getting back at that witch?

Ned sits on a chair.

Ned: Whatever I had with Alexis, it's over. But we do share a baby daughter, and I have every intention of staying in that child's life. I'd rather it not get ugly, but if it does, I'll just have to deal with it. As for you and me -- hmm.

Faith sits on his lap.

Faith: Ahem.

Ned: I like you. I think you're sexy as hell and great in bed. And the best part is together, we're going to be able to get Corinthos off the docks and out of our lives and make a hell of a lot of money while we're doing it. But if you're looking for a romance, with flowers and chocolate and all of that, that's not
me.

Faith: Good. I have an aversion to too much sugar.

Ned: Right. Power turns you on, doesn't it? Which is why this works for both of us. We're using each other to get what we want. But if that's not enough for you, you just let me know and I'll walk.

Faith: I enjoy the way you use me almost as much as I enjoy using you.

Cameron walks to Kelly's where he sees Alexis sitting on a bench outside the door crying.

Cameron: Deja vu. What's wrong now?

Alexis: Ned is trying to take Kristina away from me.

Alexis: I don't even recognize him. He's untrustworthy and controlling now. He vowed support and understanding. He claimed that whether we were lovers or not, that I could always count on him and that we would always be friends. Do you know where he is right now?

Cameron: I'm going to guess the blonde.

Alexis: He's in a hotel room with a mob widow trying to figure out ways to take my daughter away from me. Why would he do this to me? Why does he even want her? Is it revenge? Does he hate so much?

Cameron: Alexis, is there any chance you might be overreacting just a little bit?

Alexis: Yeah, I am. (rolls her eyes) I'm sure I am because I always overreact. (Talking with her hands) It must be my hormones again. I'm sure that I've just manufactured the whole declaration of war and the threat to reveal something that I can't have him reveal unless I let him control me. (Holds up her hand in front of her) Please don't tell me that you're on his side again or that you think that I deserve it.

Cameron: No, not if it's true. No parent deserves to lose their child.

Alexis sits with her arms folded around her speaking softly without looking at Cameron.

Alexis: I never thought that I wanted a child. But Kristina is the most important person in my life. And everything that I do and everything that I've done is for her.

She gets up and walks closes to Kelly's door. She listens to Cameron without looking at him.

Cameron: My theory is that parents fight so fiercely for their children because the child represents a chance for the parent to get right what they couldn't accomplish with their own lives, like a second chance. Hopefully, the lesson you learn is that you can't live life through your children. The best a parent can do is give them a good start, send them off in the right direction.

Alexis: (Turning to look at him) I need to go see my daughter.

Cameron: You want me to walk you?

Alexis: (Softly) No, thank you, I know the way. Good night.

Cameron: Good night.

She walks away.

As Cameron watches her go Zander appears at the window of Kelly's.

Zander doesn't walk out but instead pauses at the window and looks at the back of Cameron with a puzzled familiarity.

Sonny arrives back in Port Charles. He calls Ric for a meeting on the docks where he accuses him of murdering Alcazar.
