"A.J. Stays Away From Michael"
Alexis:
I have something especially for you, A.J.
Edward:
What do you want?
Alexis:
I want your grandson to stay away from Michael Corinthos. So does
Sonny, Bobbie, and Judge Harlan Bean. That's a restraining order.
You come within 20 feet of Michael, and you will be arrested so
fast, your head will spin.
Edward:
You have no right to come barging in here like this.
Alexis:
You're right, Edward, and I apologize. But it is important that
A.J. know that he will indeed be arrested if he continues to harass
Bobbie and Michael.
A.J.:
I was wrong. What can I say, Alexis? I mean, the situation with
Carly is so terrible. I just wanted to -- I just wanted to check
in on my little boy.
Alexis:
Sonny's little boy.
A.J.:
Yeah, well, now that carly is really gone, I can't stop thinking
of Michael. Is he in pain? Is he afraid? I mean, what's happened
-- it just isn't fair. Call it a parental reflex, if there is such
a thing. I just -- I wanted to reach out and comfort my son.
Alexis:
Do you honestly expect me to believe any of that?
A.J.:
Alexis, I don't care what you believe. Everyone who loves Michael
is trying to help him right now. Right? Bobbie, Felicia, Luke, Laura,
Lucky -- the list goes on. Everyone's pitching in to make Michael
feel safe. That's all I was doing. Now, the last thing I expected
was for Michael not to know me.
Courtney:
Can you imagine how awful that must be?
A.J.:
When Michael looked at me and said "who are you?" It was
a smack in my face. Alexis, how can I help a child who doesn't even
know who I am? I can't.
Alexis:
That's beautiful, A.J. A very nice performance. But we know that
you don't mean a single word of it.
Courtney:
That's not fair.
Alexis:
Correction -- most of us know that you don't mean a single word
of it. Here's the bottom line -- A.J. stays
away from Michael.
A.J.:
I will, ok?
Courtney:
There. You win. Now, will you go?
A.J.:
Alexis, I will leave Michael alone. But if Carly's death is officially
confirmed, Michael will need his father, and I will be there.
Alexis:
Even if Carly doesn't come back, Sonny is still Michael's legal
father.
A.J.:
For now.
Alexis:
Forever. You signed away your parental rights.
A.J.:
Alexis, no reasonable judge would ever give custody of a child to
a gangster like Sonny.
Alexis:
As opposed to you, A.J., an obscure little arsonist? You should
be in jail right now.
Courtney:
Excuse me?
Alexis:
A.J. wouldn't give his life for custody of Michael, but he would
try to burn down his brother's warehouse.
Courtney:
What are you talking about?
Alexis:
Sonny and Jason documented the crime. Sonny presented A.J. with
the evidence, and that was the first time that your husband signed
away Michael to keep himself out of jail.
Courtney:
None of this is true, right?
A.J.:
Courtney, I wish I could deny it. I can't lie to you. I love you
too much.
Alexis:
Oh, God.
A.J.:
I told you I've done a lot of terrible things. This is one of them.
But I promise I made sure no one got hurt in the fire.
Alexis:
You got lucky is what happened.
A.J.:
Alexis -- no injuries was part of the deal.
Edward:
Which is not to say that there even was a deal.
A.J.:
Grandfather, really, it's ok. You don't have to cover for me. I
committed a serious crime, and I am deeply ashamed.
Alexis:
And you forgot to mention it to your wife.
A.J.:
Maybe I should have. I don't know. Back then I was drinking and
I was desperate. And the drunk who hired someone to torch the warehouse
wasn't fit enough to be a parent. But I'm different now because
of you. I mean, your love has made me stronger than I imagined I
ever could be, strong enough to -- to be a good parent, strong enough
to face arson charges, to stand up to Sonny and his hit men. Courtney,
I'm not perfect. But I am better than I -- I used to be, I promise,
and it's all because of you. Can you accept that? Can you trust
me?
Courtney:
Yes. I trust you.
Alexis:
How can you stand here and listen to this?
[Knock
on door]
Alexis:
Hey, Ned? It's Alexis. I was over at the main house. I wanted to
--
[knocking]
Alexis:
Talk to you for a second about -- hey, Ned? You left your door open.
Oh, gosh. Apparently now I have come at a bad time. Oy.
Ned:
Alexis, just wait.
Kristina:
Alexis, don't go. Please don't go.
Alexis:
I'm sorry. I -- I should've called. I'm an idiot. I was at the main
house. The door was open. I --
Ned:
Just relax, just relax. We're all adults here.
Kristina:
Yes, we are.
Ned:
Look, I have some coffee brewing. Um -- just have a seat.
Alexis:
No.
Ned:
I'll get you some coffee, ok?
Ned:
Mm-hmm. There you go.
Alexis:
Thanks. Thank you.
Kristina:
You want some toast?
Alexis:
No. No, thank you. I'm not hungry.
Kristina:
Orange marmalade.
Alexis:
Oh, you're really going all out, aren't you?
Ned:
Orange marmalade coming up.
Kristina:
No, no, no, no, no, no. Sit, sit, sit. Even I know how to work a
push-button pop-up toaster.
Alexis:
That's the difference between you and me.
Kristina:
Ahem.
Ned:
So --
Alexis:
Oh, yeah. I'm late. I am. I've got to go. I'm --
