"She Saw You and Alexis in Bed"

Alexis: How did the card get here? Michael made that card. He said that Carly brought it here, and it's here.

Sonny: No.

Alexis: She was in your apartment. What if she saw us upstairs? What if she came here to surprise you?

Sonny: Nobody surprises me. Nobody was here.

Alexis: You had the music playing. It was loud. We wouldn't have been able to hear her.

Alexis: Kristina's not home.

Ned: I'm here to see you.

Alexis: This is not a good time, Ned.

Ned: Which is why I'm here.

Alexis: Whatever it is, could it wait? Because I'm really on overload right now and I --

Ned: No, it can't wait, ok? It's waited too long already.

Sonny: I need to speak to Zander alone.

Kristina: I'll wait downstairs.

Sonny: Well, this could take a while.

Zander: It's ok. Go ahead.

Kristina: Excuse me.

Sonny: The night Carly disappeared, you saw her, she was upset. Your story has holes. I need you to fill them in for me. Starting from the top.

Ned: Since we got back from the Caribbean, we haven't spoken one civil word to each other, and I'd like to fix that. And I'm assuming you would, too. Alexis, are you listening?

Alexis: Yeah.

Ned: Obviously, I didn't take it too well when you broke your promise and told Sonny A.J.'s whereabouts. I was obviously angry. But now I realize that it was really naive of me to think that you would hold out on Sonny. Of course you're going to side with Sonny. He's your employer, and your relationship now is obviously closer. And he was really just trying to protect his little sister from walking into a hornets' nest, and I was trying to protect the hornets. Alexis, are you listening to me?

Alexis: Yes.

Ned: I told Courtney that if she needed an ally that she could come to me. Do you need some help?

Alexis: No.

Ned: Is Sonny helping with the search? You know, even if it's bad news, it's very important that they find Carly. I mean, otherwise, people are just grasping at straws and --

Alexis: Damn it.

Zander: Carly left here about 3:00 in the morning. Sonny, I've told you a dozen times.

Sonny: Your story doesn't hang together. Like this date you had with Carly at 3:00 A.M. To play pool. What's with that?

Zander: She gave me a pool cue. She wanted to see me test it out.

Sonny: In the middle of the night?

Zander: When the club closed.

Sonny: In the middle of the night?

Zander: When she got off of work.

Sonny: In the middle of the night?

Zander: Yeah, in the middle of the night. That's when she gets off of work, Sonny.

Sonny: Don't get defensive with me. How long has Carly been making dates to play pool at 3:00 a.M.?

Zander: What difference does it make? Are you going to try and act like you care?

Sonny: How long?

Zander: Why couldn't Carly do whatever the hell she wanted? You're with Alexis.

Sonny: Carly told you I was with Alexis?

Zander: No, she didn't have to.

Sonny: Is that what she told you?

Zander: No. It doesn't take a detective, Sonny, all right? You and Alexis are always together. You were together the morning I came to tell you about the accident.

Sonny: All right, the night before, what did Carly say? Did she come here at 3:00 a.M. And tell you that Alexis was with me?

Zander: No.

Sonny: No? Then why was she upset? She broke a nail? The chinese takeout was closed? You told me you saw her. She was upset. I want you to tell me why. Answer me now! Tell me why!

Zander: Because I threw her out of my bed!

Ned: Don't. You'll hurt yourself.

Alexis: I don't hurt myself. I hurt other people, like you, like Carly. She's probably dead because of me. She either lost control of the car or got so distraught, she purposely drove it into a lake because she knew about Sonny and me.

Ned: Ok, look, Sonny and Carly were divorced. And not because of you but because Carly was a loose cannon who always acted first and thought later. She was that way when she came to town.

Alexis: I knew that. I knew that. But I didn't stop to think about her. I didn't stop to think about how much I would hurt her. I didn't stop to think about anything.

Zander: You hired me to watch Carly. You put us together day and night. What did you think? She was beautiful. Did you figure me for blind? The way she moved, the way she smiled, the way she laughed. Did you think all that was lost on me? I tried to quit, Sonny. Did you ever wonder why? Carly was lonely. Go figure. She needed to be wanted every once in a while, and she was. You know that story Carly told you about the stranger in the bar kissing her? Well, there was no stranger and there was no bar, but there was a kiss, and it was me. Carly invented the story to keep you from killing me. You want to kill me? Come on! Kill me! Right now. Beat me to a pulp. Put me at the bottom of the lake with Carly. I don't give a damn! I never did. I only kept it a secret for her because I didn't want to ruin her chances of ever getting back together with you, friend. Those are the facts. You wanted them. You satisfied now?

Sonny: That night, what happened?

Zander: What I wanted to happen. Except for this time, it was real.

Sonny: Why did you throw Carly out? What did she do wrong? Or did you throw her out after you got what you wanted?

Zander: No.

Sonny: Then why? Why didn't you let her stay?

Zander: Because even then, it wasn't about me. It was all about you.

Ned: You didn't break up Sonny's marriage. They've been apart for almost a year. Couples break up. People get hurt. That's part of life. And Carly had to deal with that. She was an adult. She was a mother. And if she was driving recklessly because she was upset about anything, that's her responsibility. I mean, it's terrible. It's terrible what happeNed to her. But none of this is your fault, Alexis.

Kristina: What happened? Did they find Carly?

Ned: No, no, not yet. But your sister has convinced herself that this whole thing is her fault.

Kristina: You got to be kidding me.

Alexis: I don't -- I don't want to discuss this anymore. I don't want to listen. I don't want to be here right now.

Kristina: Is she ok?

Ned: No.

Sonny: Ok, Carly came -- she came at you, but it was all about me. Which means she -- well, it was payback. She wanted to even the score, right? She knew about -- she knew about Alexis and me, which means she was in the penthouse. She heard something. Found something? What? Tell me what Carly saw that night.

Zander: She saw you and Alexis in bed.
