"Voice of Reason"

Sonny: No. Manda tu gente a Santa Ana ahorita. Uh-huh. Si A.J. trata de irse con mi hermana, paralo pero no le haga nada porque no quiero que mi hermana vea algoI’ll be there right away. Bye. (Hangs up the phone)

Alexis: Is there a chance that you’ll stop and think?

Sonny: I knew A.J. would make a mistake. Calling Skye was exactly what I needed.

Alexis: So I don’t worry about the part about right of privacy and illegal wire taps --

Sonny: The point is – I’ve got him.

Alexis: OK. I’ll go with you.

Sonny: (shakes his head) I don’t want you involved.

Alexis: But I’m not asking – I’m telling.


Sonny: I will take care of A.J. and bring Courtney home.

Alexis: And I’ll just go along with you as your attorney.

Sonny: As my attorney, you leave your cell phone on and I’ll just check in.

Alexis: You need a voice of reason.

Sonny: You are staying here.

Alexis: You need someone who won’t take orders.

Sonny: I’m wasting time --

Alexis: You need someone who will question what you do --

Sonny: What’s there to question? If there’s a problem, I’m going to solve it.

Alexis: You need someone rational.

Sonny: I’m – I’m very rational.

Alexis: Yeah. What if you find Courtney with A.J.?

Sonny: I can deal with it.

Alexis: And what if you can’t? I mean, what if you hurt A.J.?

Sonny: I won’t.

Alexis: May I remind you of what happened at Carly’s club? And to be clear, if you end up in jail, you find yourself another attorney.

Sonny: Are you telling me you’re resigning?

Alexis: I’m telling you I will, if pushed. My best legal advice to you is that you take me along as a precautionary measure, that way it’ll save us both a lot of trouble. And if you choose to ignore my advice, and you choose to go after Courtney and A.J. by yourself, without me, I’m not cleanin’ up your mess.

Sonny: Not even a little bit?

Alexis: Not even littler than that.

Sonny: We’re wasting time.

Alexis: Let’s go.

(As they start to leave, Taggert, Jax, and two police officers enter the penthouse. Sonny can’t believe the bad timing. He puts his right hand to his eyes and rubs them)


Sonny: Whatever this is about, Taggert, it can wait.

Taggert: I don’t think so.

Alexis: We have some place we need to be.

Jax: Your boy has locked Skye in the Quartermaine boatshed.

Alexis: That is ridiculous.

Jax: You were trying to intimidate her, weren’t you Sonny? You were trying to get her to tell you where A.J. is.

Alexis: Has Miss Quartermaine sworn out a complaint against my client?

Taggert: We’re doing this completely by the book. Mr. Corinthos is being charged with conspiracy and kidnapping.

Alexis: We have somewhere to be right now.

Taggert: You’re not going anywhere.

Sonny: Yeah, I am, and you’re not going to stop me this time.

Taggert: You don’t get a vote, Mr. Corinthos. You’re under arrest. (One of the officers handcuffs Sonny) You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to have an attorney present during questioning. If you can’t afford one, one will be appointed to you by the courts. Do you understand these rights as I have read them to you?

(Alexis gives Jax a dirty look. Sonny closes his eyes and nods his head)


(Sonny, Alexis, Jax, and Taggert arrive at the P.C.P.D.)

Alexis: I’d like a moment alone with my client.

Taggert: Take two – I’m feeling generous.

Alexis: Great. We know where the interrogation room is.

Taggert: Uh, Corinthos, I’m a little worried about you, buddy. Locking people in a boathouse.

Alexis: Here’s an idea. You charge my client with kidnapping and I’ll charge you with harassment.

Taggert: You’re slipping, Corinthos.

Alexis: I think we’re finished here, gentlemen.

(Sonny and Alexis turn to enter the interrogation room. Sonny’s handcuffs are removed as he enters the room)

Sonny: (inside the interrogation room) Get me out of here, will you?

Alexis: I’ll do what I can.

Sonny: They got nothin’. I mean, I did not hurt Skye Quartermaine.

Alexis: I’ll push for an arraignment as quickly as possible.

Sonny: You just take care of it, will you?

Alexis: I will use Skye’s history of false accusation. However –

Sonny: See if you can have them drop the charges. Because obviously they have no proof.

Alexis: Jax wouldn’t make an accusation like this if they didn’t have something.

Sonny: Alexis, I have to get Courtney.

Alexis: I’ll see what I can do.

(They both look at Skye and Jax in the other room. Alexis looks back at Sonny)

Sonny: Whatever happened in that boatshed, I had nothing to do with it.

Alexis: I know who did.


(At the police station)

Jax: You sure you’re ready for this?

Skye: I feel stronger than ever. I can face anything.

Jax: You know Alexis will put up a strong fight.

Skye: Well, Sonny needs to pay for what he did to me.

Jax: Yeah.

Taggert: You ready to give your statement?

(Skye looks over her shoulder at Sonny, who is looking at her through the glass window of the interrogation room. Alexis hands Sonny a glass of water)


Alexis: I should have seen it at the moment but I was so caught up, I just didn’t piece it all together. (Pause) You’re not going to want to hear this, but do you remember when I told you that I saw Carly at the Quartermaine’s? (Sonny nods his head and then a light bulb, so to speak, goes off and he realizes that Carly did it)

Sonny: Oh no. I was afraid Carly was going to do something like this. She did this? She locked Skye in the boatshed?

Alexis: What do you want me to do about it?


(In the interrogation room)

Sonny: Don't mention Carly.

Alexis: Fine.

Sonny: They have no evidence and Skye’s known to be a liar.

Alexis: She can be very convincing.

Sonny: You’ve just got to get me out of here.

Alexis: I’ll do my best. (turns to go out into the station)

Skye: (giving her statement to Taggert) I didn’t know what else to do. I started swimming.

Taggert: To escape Sonny’s people.

Skye: That’s right.

Alexis: Did you actually see my client at the scene, Miss Quartermaine?

Jax: Sonny doesn’t do his own dirty work, Alexis. You should know that.

Alexis: Did you see anyone at all?

Taggert: You know what? Skye’s statement will become public when we’re finished.

Skye: Oh, that’s all right I have nothing to hide. I heard footsteps.

Alexis: Footsteps?

Jax: Skye, you don’t have to say anything to her.

Alexis: In fact, I would advise against it.

Skye: Sonny left a note.

Alexis: On letterhead?

Skye: What, are you making a joke out of this?

Jax: Skye, please, don’t say anything.

Alexis: Did Sonny actually sign the note? If there even is one.

Jax: There’s a note, Alexis.

(Sonny enters the main area from the interrogation room and listens to his lawyer do her stuff)

Skye: Sonny didn’t obviously sign the note --

Alexis: You didn’t see anyone, did you, Miss Quartermaine.

Taggert: Counselor , Counselor, save it for the courtroom.

Alexis: In fact, you have no evidence at all. You can’t prove anything happened.

Jax: Skye almost died, Alexis.

Alexis: I’d like to see the medical records. You have medical records, don’t you, if you took her to the emergency room, I assume? You thought Skye was dying and you didn’t call an ambulance?

Taggert: If I were you two, I’d get a lawyer.

Jax: We will.

Alexis: You cheat death quite frequently, don’t you, Miss Quartermaine? Ominous messengers, strange intruders, meat lockers . . .

Jax: You’ll say anything to defend him, won’t you?

Alexis: Sonny didn’t do it.

Skye: How can you be so sure?

(Carly walks into the police station with Zander)

Carly: Because I did.

(Everyone turns and looks at her. The scene ends with Sonny shaking his head in exasperation)
