"I'm In Love With a Man You Can't Stand"

Alexis: He never leaves his door open, so where is he?

Jax: You know, you're more concerned about Sonny's whereabouts than your own personal safety and that of your sister.

Alexis: All right, well, you know what? I resent that.

Jax: What?

Alexis: My client's door is open and my client is missing.

Jax: Well, I suppose when the client is Sonny Corinthos, you have just cause for concern.

Alexis: All right, maybe I should call Benny. I don't know. Maybe -- that's probably the exact wrong thing to do.

Jax: Well, that's -- that's encouraging. I'm -- I'm glad that, you know, being a mobster's significant other doesn't come naturally to you.

Alexis: You're really being snide, Jax, and I don't appreciate it.

Jax: Ok, well, you know what? I'm sorry. But could you just focus on the danger for a second here? You and kristina -- you seriously could be in danger. So, please, please, reconsider. Let me take you and Kristina out on the yacht, at least until Helena is back in custody.

Alexis: That's never going to happen. You know that. She's smart. She's already in another country without extradition laws. Look, she's a broken old woman with a gall bladder problem. Her omnipotent days are over.

Jax: Wouldn't it be nice to think so. I think you're being a little overconfident.

Kristina: Hi.

Jax: Oh, good, good. You arrived just time to help persuade your sister that the two of you could be killed in your sleep before morning.

Kristina: Well, has anyone spotted Helena? I mean, has anyone heard from her? Has she made any new threats?

Alexis: She could be anywhere.

Jax: Yeah, which is all the more reason for the two of you to set sail with me.

Kristina: What do you think?

Alexis: I think that he may have a point. You might be safer off with jax.

Kristina: Which leaves you --

Alexis: I'm staying here and I'm getting on with my life. But don't let me stop you if you want to go with Jax.

Kristina: No, no, no, no. I'm not going anywhere, then. Not without you.

Jax: Ok, you know what? Could we all acknowledge the fact that Alexis' priorities are seriously skewed?

Alexis: All right, you know what? Here we go.

Jax: But I thought you would understand. Because Helena's escape is reason for concern.

Kristina: I'm staying.

Alexis: So am I. That effectively closes the subject.

Jax: Ok, fine, fine. Be stubborn about it, but don't say I didn't warn you.

Alexis: Fair enough.

Kristina: Has anyone heard from Courtney and A.J.?

Alexis: They've disappeared. So has Sonny.

Kristina: Oh, that's just great, especially from where Courtney's standing. She's in the middle of all of this.

Jax: I didn't realize you and Courtney were close.

Kristina: Well, we were starting to be. You know, she stayed at Alexis' for a while. L&b had a C.D. Release party, and I took her out with me. We had a great time together. And I learned enough about Courtney to realize that she is a total innocent when it comes to men. She does not deserve to have her vulnerability exploited by a shark like A.J., all right? And -- oh, oh, oh -- Skye? Skye -- don't even get me started on Skye. Not only did she do absolutely nothing to stop A.J., I think she's actively helping him, too.

Alexis: Skye.

Kristina: You know, Jax, how can you hang around someone like that? I mean, I'm opinionated -- I know that -- but what is there about Skye to like?

Jax: I'll take care of it.

Kristina: What'd I just miss?

(Alexis is sitting on the couch in her apartment, writing on a yellow legal pad. Kristina flips through a magazine, then sets it down. Alexis rips off a sheet of paper and crumples it up. She throws it aside in disgust and begins writing again)

Kristina: You all right?

Alexis: Yes, I'm all right.

Kristina: Well, you don't look all right.

Alexis: Are you going to argue with me about the way that I feel again, Kristina? (Takes off her glasses and puts them on again) Because I'm fine. I'm just tired, all right?

Kristina: I think that you're worried about Sonny. I want you to talk to me ---

Alexis: Sit down. (Alexis takes off glasses. Kristina sits down next to Alexis on the couch) Kristina, you are my sister and I treasure your presence in my life and nothing's ever going to change that. But you have got to remember something. We've only known each other for a short time and as close as we've become, there are things that you just don't understand about me. You think that I'm easy to read. I'm not. And my best advice to you is to stop trying to figure me out. I don't like being interrogated about my feelings. Where I can find them, I can't always explain them. And when asked to do that, I recoil. When pushed to do that, I lash out. I am asking you to stop pushing, Kristina, because I don't want to say something to you that I'm going to regret.

Kristina: Regret because you're afraid you're going to hurt my feelings or regret because you don't want anyone helping you? (Alexis shakes her head in exasperation) Look, look, look, I hereby -- I hereby volunteer (raises right hand) you can yell at me, you can lash out at me, do whatever you need to do. (Alexis looks trapped --she desperately wants out of this situation) Just please, understand how you're feeling instead of pretending that your feelings don't even exist.

Alexis: Have you not heard a word that I just said, Kristina? I said leave it alone! (Alexis gets up from the couch. Kristina does the same)

Kristina: (calmly) Alexis, you're imploding.

Alexis: (yelling now) I'm imploding because you are refusing to stop doing what I am repeatingly asking you to stop doing ---

Kristina: And --- and you're refusing to deal with the things that bother you.

Alexis: (in disbelief) I can't believe you.

Kristina: You know what? I'm sure --- I'm sure if I wouldn't have shown up, you would've taken the memories of our mother and stuffed them in for another twenty years.

Alexis: You need to stop. Stop it, Kristina. I'm not kidding. I'm really not kidding. You are making me so angry right now. (voice begins breaking) Please, just leave it alone.

Kristina: Alexis, why --

Alexis: Why ---

Kristina: You can't breathe ---

Alexis: (yelling) I'm breathing fine!

Kristina: I want you to just breathe!

Alexis: (pointing finger at Kristina) You want me to make you right is want you want.

Kristina: No, people --- people who are OK with their feelings can breathe. People who are comfortable with their feelings ---

Alexis: (completely exasperated) I never said I was "OK" with my feelings, Kristina. I never said I was "comfortable" with my feelings. I said I didn't want to share them with you or Ned or Jax or anyone else. Shouldn't that be my choice? Shouldn't that be my perrogative? Is that so hard for all of you to understand? You know what I think? I think that --- that you don't care at all about my relationship with Sonny. In fact, I don't think you give a damn about my feelings at all. I think you're all so damn mad at me because I'm in love with a man you can't stand! (looks like she wants to swallow those words up again. Has a "what did I just say" look on her face. Swallows several times, puts hand to face)

Kristina: You just admitted that you love Sonny.

Alexis: Happy? (A single tear slides down her left cheek. She turns to go upstairs)

(Kristina looks like she's in shock. She looks sick as she sits down on the arm of the couch)

(Kristina is pacing back and forth downstairs in Alexis' apartment She looks anxious. She hears a knock at the door. She opens it -- it's Sonny, who has just come from speaking to Skye about A.J. and Courtney)

Sonny: Is Alexis here? (comes in, looks at staircase)

Kristina: She's upstairs.

Sonny: All right, I need to talk to her --- unless she's sick or something?

Kristina: No, she's not sick. She's just upstairs.

Sonny: Oh.

Kristina: This is her home, remember? You know, sometimes I think that you tend to forget that. You kind of believe that everything has been arranged for your convenience -- so you can drop by, just walk in whenever you feel like it, dump your problems, your inconveniences, your unreasonable demands right into my sister's lap whenever you so choose.

Sonny: I'll leave a message on her cell phone. I'll ---

Kristina: No wonder your sister ran away.

Sonny: What was that? What?

Kristina: You make people feel irrelevant. You know that, Sonny? It's as though, you know, they're not important enough or intelligent enough to merit your attention or even a reply from you. You may not like what I just said to you, but at least show me the courtesy of acknowledging that I said it.

Sonny: If I was rude to you or something, I apologize. You are Alexis' sister. I've been doing my best to be polite, even when you barge into my home without asking and start lecturing me about things that are none of your business.

Kristina: Alexis IS my business.

Sonny: Nooo --- she's your sister. You can tell her anything, but don't tell me.

Kristina: You have no idea how unreasonable you sound right now.

Sonny: I have no use for you, Kristina. When I think about you, you know what I think of? A self-centered kid with too much time on her hands who keeps busy by butting into other people's lives. I don't know where you think you came by the wisdom or experience to tell me what to do about anything but I got no time right now to argue with you. Alexis is my tenant. Now, I got business to discuss with her. You got a problem with that, you take it up with Alexis or you move yourself out of here. But do not raise the subject with me again. Are we clear?

(Alexis comes down the stairs. Kristina turns and goes upstairs)

Sonny: Hey.

Alexis: Hey.

(Sonny yawns, looks tired His hair is messy and his collar is unbuttoned. He and Alexis are in her apartment)

Alexis: You look like hell.

Sonny: I'm not getting anywhere trying to find Courtney. (shrugs) It's just --- I don't know what to do.

Alexis: You should try sleeping. (He looks at her couch) In your apartment. Across the hall. (He laughs) I'll show you.

(They walk across the hall to his apartment. They enter. Sonny removes his jacket. He pours himself a drink. Alexis watches him)

Alexis: You hungry?

Sonny: (laughs) What would you do I were?

Alexis: Order in. (pause) Would you like me to warm you some milk?

Sonny: You know how to make milk?

Alexis: I was hoping you did. (pause) I could sing you a lullaby.

Sonny: You sing?

Alexis: Like a strangled cat.

Sonny: (laughs) Don't sing.

Alexis: What do you want? Do you want me to put you to bed myself?
