"Awkward Situation"

[Kristina laughs]

Kristina: Oh! Oh --

Felicia: Hey, Alexis.

Alexis: Ahem.

Felicia: Is Ned around?

Kristina: Oh, my God. Oh, my God.

Felicia: Sorry. We can leave.

Ned: No. No, no, you're here. What can I do for you?

Alexis: I just wanted to see Kristina for a minute.

Felicia: And I need to talk to you about a case I'm working on.

Ned: Well, can we do it tomorrow?

Felicia: Well, unfortunately, I'm on a tight schedule. I'm really sorry. I know I'm imposing at a bad time.

Kristina: No, no, no, no. It's ok. It's ok. I'll go talk to Alexis in the control booth.

Ned: Ok. Come on in here, Felicia.

Felicia: I'm sorry for walking in. I guess I should have called first.

Ned: It's all right.

Felicia: Please tell me Alexis already knew about --

Ned: Yeah, yeah. She knows all about it.

Felicia: Oh. I see. I know it's none of my business, but Alexis is a friend of mine -- through Chloe, mostly. And because it's what I think Chloe would want, I need to tell you that I want you to be sensitive to Alexis' feelings because what she says and she how acts doesn't necessarily reflect what's going on in the inside.

Ned: Mm-hmm. Yes, well, I'll keep that in mind.

Alexis: I tried to be discreet and back out, but --

Kristina: Ok, look, I'm mortified enough, so can we just drop it? And thank you for not mentioning the window. What did you want to see me about?

Alexis: I wanted to talk to you about moving out of the penthouse. I realize that i thought it was a bad idea when you brought it up, and I have given it some thought, and I think probably it's a good idea. So if you find someplace that you would like to move to, just let me know and we can contact them.

Kristina: Alexis, this is exactly what I was afraid of. This is exactly why I didn't want to get involved with Ned.

Alexis: Kristina --

Kristina: I didn't want to hurt you.

Alexis: I'm not hurt, all right?

Kristina: There's no way that you're not hurt.

Alexis: Kristina, stop it, ok?

Alexis: Kristina, please --

Kristina: No, no, no. I am sorry. I knew this would hurt you.

Alexis: I'm not hurt.

Kristina: I should have followed my instincts. I saw the look on your face.

Alexis: I was embarrassed. It was very awkward. I expected to see the two of you working together, and, instead, you -- look, it's fine. It is fine. Ned and I are not in a relationship anymore. You two are free agents, free to do whatever you want. Stop worrying about me.

Kristina: This isn't anything serious.

Alexis: Kristina, I don't want to get in the way of something that you want. My relationship with Ned is over.

Ned: Kristina, would you mind leaving Alexis and me alone for just a little while?

Alexis: Strangely enough, this is one of the few times in my life that I don't know what to say.

Ned: Well, I would just like to apologize for putting you in such an awkward situation.

Alexis: "Awkward" seems to be the word of the night. So, in keeping in that vein, I'm going to ask you an awkward question. And I'd like you to be honest.

Ned: Have I ever not been?

Alexis: I don't want my sister's heart broken, so is this just a fun fling for you or is this for real?

Ned: Kristina and I are taking whatever this is at a very slow, cautious pace. I can tell you that my feelings for her are honest. I mean, I'm not just -- well, I am having a lot of fun. But I certainly don't have any kind of hidden agenda. And despite what anyone might think, it's not about you. I know Jax seems to have this theory that Kristina is you without the baggage.

Alexis: Jax said that? That's sweet.

Ned: Jax is wrong. Kristina is very much her own person. I mean, she has just as much baggage as the rest of us. Does Kristina rearrange everything in your house?

Alexis: Mm-hmm.

Ned: Yeah. Same here. She's trying to change my world. And I don't know if I'm ready for someone to turn my life upside down again. Or maybe I am. I don't know. I don't know if I'm ready to fall in love again. I know that I would never, ever purposefully hurt her. Is that good enough?

Alexis: Good enough. Ahem. I mean, she is, you know, my sister.

Ned: I know. She adores you.

Alexis: Well, ahem, if I didn't feel awkward enough before, I certainly feel awkward now, so I'm going to just slip out.

Ned: Good-bye.

Alexis: Bye.

Kristina: What'd you and Alexis talk about?

Ned: Oh, nothing you haven't already heard.

Kristina: Hmm.

Ned: She says that she's fine that you and i are dating, even though we both admit that it's a little awkward. And she swears that she's not hurt, and I believe her.

Kristina: Do you believe her?

Ned: Yes, i do. I think we are both going forward. We're not going back. Actually, she has more of a concern for you. She wanted to make sure that my intentions were honest.
