"You Want to Know if I'm in Love With Sonny?"
Alexis:
I should not be allowed near that coffee maker. I just -- oh. Oh.
(Kristina
walks in the door)
Kristina:
What a night.
Alexis:
Apparently.
Alexis:
How's Ned?
Kristina:
Oh, sleeping, I hope. Poor guy is totally worn out.
Alexis:
Oh. My. I made the coffee. Sorry.
Kristina:
Oh, no, no, no, no, no more coffee. Ned and I have been drinking
it all night long. No more coffee. But the good news is that edward's
out of surgery.
Alexis:
Edward had surgery?
Kristina:
Yeah, but he's fine. I think he'll be ok. He had a coronary bypass.
Alexis:
Oh. That's wonderful -- I mean, not that he had a coronary bypass.
I mean -- I mean, it's wonderful that you spent the night at the
hospital with Ned, I mean.
Kristina:
Well, where'd you think I was?
Alexis:
I don't know. I don't have any opinion on that. That's none of my
business.
Kristina:
Did you think that i slept with Ned?
Alexis:
It crossed my mind, I suppose, but, you know, that's -- I mean,
you -- you guys have been seeing each other.
Kristina:
Well, for, like, five seconds, maybe.
Alexis:
Well, you know, some people's relationships move along faster than
others.
Kristina:
Alexis, I am not sleeping with Ned.
Alexis:
Fine. That's fine. And, I mean, you know, it -- or not fine. I mean,
it's not my place to approve or disapprove of that --
Kristina:
Don't --
Alexis:
Because that's none of my business.
Kristina:
Don't tell me that you don't care, and please don't try and play
off that you're all cool and collected because you're not very good
at it.
Alexis:
No, I'm not good at it, actually. I'm not good at pretending I feel
a certain way when I don't, and I think it's about time that I stopped
it.
Courtney:
I went to Aquisto's.
Sonny:
Oh. Come on in.
Courtney:
That's your favorite bakery, right -- Aquisto's?
Sonny:
Yeah. They do nice work.
Courtney:
Well, I didn't know what you liked, so I bought one of everything.
Sonny:
Thank you.
Courtney:
Sure. No problem.
Sonny:
After last night, I thought you'd sleep in.
Courtney:
Last night was awful. I messed up. I didn't mean to, but --
Sonny:
No, hey, you know what? I -- I understand.
Courtney:
I said some terrible things. I didn't -- I didn't even realize that
-- anyway, I didn't understand your attitude about our dad or anything.
But now everything's different. You know how I feel.
Sonny:
Why is that?
Courtney:
Can we start over, one more time?
Kristina:
So, you're ready to be honest?
Alexis:
Yes, I am. This coffee is really dreadful.
Kristina:
I mean about me and Ned.
Alexis:
Yes, I know what you mean.
Kristina:
It gives you the willies, doesn't it?
Alexis:
Define "willies."
Kristina:
Well, I am your sister. I am hanging out with a man that you almost
married. You get to be upset, Alexis.
Alexis:
It's a little strange.
Kristina:
Strange how?
Alexis:
Well, strange like I walked down the stairs on New Year's Eve and
I saw him in his tuxedo and I thought for a split second that he
was waiting for me.
Kristina:
And when he wasn't?
Alexis:
I thought maybe I was having a nervous breakdown or early senility
had set in.
Kristina:
Oh, I -- i just -- if i were you, i think i would be craz--
Alexis:
Well, Kristina, you're not me.
Kristina:
Look, Ned and I are just starting to see each other. I can put an
end --
Alexis:
No, don't.
Kristina:
To this whole situation.
Alexis:
I just need a minute, ok, because this is hard for me.
Kristina:
Well, the situation is extreme.
Alexis:
It's hard for me to express my feelings about it.
Kristina:
Forget Ned. Really. Never mind Ned.
Alexis:
All right, look, this is weird, ok? There's just certain things
that I -- certain details I don't want to picture.
Kristina:
Which is why i can bail out of this situation at anytime.
Alexis:
I don't want you to bail out of it. I -- I said it was weird, ok?
It's not a tragedy. It's not, like, "oh, my god, -- it's just
odd.
Kristina:
And I understand that. If you want me --
Alexis:
I -- I don't want you to bail out of it, ok? Because if you bail
out of it, it will stifle my personal growth.
Kristina:
Well, what is -- you lost me.
Alexis:
Because this is a highly uncomfortable situation for me and I need
to be able elf about it to you, especially because you're my sister,
and you need to let me, so stop overreacting every time I say something,
ok?
Kristina:
Yeah, but --
Alexis:
So no more proclamations about Ned.
Kristina:
Ok.
Alexis:
Ok.
Kristina:
Promise.
Alexis:
And stop pretending to like my coffee.
Kristina:
I am starting to get used to it.
Alexis:
Thank you.
Kristina:
Well, now that we're being honest with each other --
Alexis:
Yes?
Kristina:
How do you really feel about Sonny?
Sonny:
All right. Salmon omelet with sour cream and chives.
Courtney:
You made this?
Sonny:
You got to eat the omelet first. Otherwise, it gets cold. You got
some sausage, some bacon and waffles with warm maple syrup.
Courtney:
How long have you been awake?
Sonny:
I didn't know what you liked, so I kind of made a little bit of
everything.
Courtney:
There's no way you made all of this.
Sonny:
You got to eat the omelet before it gets cold.
Courtney:
Ok.
Courtney:
Mmm.
Sonny:
Mm-hmm.
Courtney:
This is fabulous.
Sonny:
See?
Courtney:
Mmm.
Sonny:
You can't live on sweets alone.
Courtney:
Hmm.
Sonny:
Right.
Courtney:
Are you kidding me? I lived on cereal, candy bars, and pizza the
whole time my mom was gone.
Sonny:
I need to get you to a dentist.
Courtney:
I'm fine.
Sonny:
And then you should probably get a physical and have a meeting with
a nutritionist.
Courtney:
You make a great mom. You know that? It -- it's a compliment, ok?
Sonny:
Oh.
Courtney:
Ahem.
Sonny:
Ahem. Ok -- so you ok about last night?
Courtney:
Sure.
Sonny:
Yeah? Alexis helped?
Courtney:
Hmm. Tons.
Sonny:
Yeah? What'd she say?
Courtney:
Well, she told me about Aquisto's.
Sonny:
Hmm. What else she say?
Courtney:
She helped me understand why you're so hard on Mike, and A.J., Too.
When I found out, you know, what you've had to deal with --
Sonny:
What would that be?
Courtney:
Your childhood -- you know, how you were abused.
Alexis:
How do I feel about Sonny?
Kristina:
Yes.
Alexis:
Asked and answered.
Kristina:
Lawyers always say that.
Alexis:
Because we can.
Kristina:
Well, we're not in a courtroom right now.
Alexis:
Well, I wish we were because in the courtroom, I can make the inquiries.
I don't appreciate it when everyone is insisting that i answer the
questions because I like to keep my feelings close to the vest.
You know, that way, they can't rule me.
Kristina:
What would be so wrong with that?
Alexis:
Well, that can't happen. In fact, it's best just sometimes not to
acknowledge them at all because that's the way that I've been doing
it my whole life, and maybe someday i'll change.
Kristina:
Why not just let go a little bit?
Alexis:
It's easier for some people than it is for others, like downhill
skiing is easier for some people than it is for others --
Kristina:
Alexis --
Alexis:
Or finding the --
Kristina:
Alexis!
Alexis:
What?
Kristina:
Sonny.
Alexis:
What about him?
Kristina:
Ok. Why don't we play a game of true and false? I will say something,
and then you have to answer true --
Alexis:
True or false.
Kristina:
Exactly. But you got to be honest.
Alexis:
I will. I'll try.
Kristina:
Ok. Sonny is an attractive man.
Alexis:
Is that the first statement?
Kristina:
True or false?
Alexis:
True.
Kristina:
Not just attractive to women universally --
Alexis:
True.
Kristina:
I haven't finished my sentence yet.
Alexis:
Sorry.
Kristina:
But to you, specifically.
Alexis:
Well, yeah -- yeah! I mean, I'm a woman. I mean, I may be a bookworm
and a workaholic, but I have eyes.
Kristina:
Just answer, true or false?
Alexis:
Just go on.
Kristina:
Ok. You look forward to seeing Sonny.
Alexis:
Occasionally.
Kristina:
True or false? True or false? True or --
Alexis:
True!
Kristina:
You think about Sonny when he's not here.
Alexis:
It depends.
Kristina:
True or false?
Alexis:
Or.
Kristina:
You understand Sonny.
Alexis:
True.
Kristina:
You feel connected to Sonny --
Alexis:
True.
Kristina:
Deeply connected to him.
Alexis:
Asked and answered.
Kristina:
You trust him.
Alexis:
True.
Kristina:
You're in love with him.
Alexis:
Where the hell did that come from?
Kristina:
True or false?
Courtney:
I've taken a few psych courses, so I know that it's normal not to
be able to trust anyone when you've been beaten as a child. It sort
of makes sense why Mike gets to you even when he's trying really
hard to be nice. Mike ditched us both, but I did all right. You
got knocked around, though, and that's got to be tough. I -- I couldn't
believe your stepfather. What a total creep -- hitting you and your
mom all the time and then locking you in the closet while he beat
her? I can see why you blame Mike. In a way, he kind of set you
up for that -- not that he laid on you, but if you think about it,
he might as well have.
Sonny:
I need -- I need to see Alexis before she goes to court.
Courtney:
Have you finished your breakfast?
Sonny:
I'm fine. Go ahead. You go -- you go ahead and finish yours.
Courtney:
Ok, sure.
Alexis:
You want to know if i'm in love with Sonny?
Kristina:
Yes.
[Knock
on door]
Alexis:
What's wrong?
Sonny:
What the hell do you think you're doing?
Sonny:
I trusted you.
Alexis:
Excuse me?
Sonny:
I told you things.
Alexis:
That's because we're friends.
Sonny:
Yeah, personal things no one's supposed to know.
Alexis:
Where -- where are you going with this?
Sonny:
I'll tell you where i'm going with it. I'm having breakfast with
my sister. I make her an omelet, it's good, she's happy. We're a
family.
Alexis:
You are a family.
Sonny:
And then she hits me with garbage from years ago -- personal things
I told you.
Alexis:
I'm sorry. I thought that --
Sonny:
Every last detail, she tells me. That's what my sister serves me
for breakfast -- my guts on a china plate, compliments of my lawyer
and my friend who gave my privacy away.
Alexis:
You -- you asked me to help you with Courtney, and I thought --
Sonny:
You call -- you call this help? Huh? You call this help?
Kristina:
How dare you talk to my sister that way!
Kristina:
If you have a friend in this world, it is Alexis. She has devoted
--
Alexis:
Kristina --
Kristina:
Her career and her life to your well-being.
Alexis:
I can handle this.
Kristina:
Do you even understand that she hangs around this apartment --
Alexis:
Kristina!
Kristina:
Waiting for you --
Alexis:
Kristina!
Kristina:
Just in case you need her?
Alexis:
Don't say another word!
Kristina:
Your sister is living here and you have the audacity to walk in
here --
Alexis:
I said that's enough! Kristina, stop it! I know that you're trying
to help, but you're not helping, all right? I want to talk to him
alone.
Kristina:
Are you sure?
Alexis:
I'm sure.
Kristina:
I will be upstairs if you need me.
Alexis:
Maybe not at this particular moment, but i am grateful every day
for my sister. I was hoping that you and Courtney would have that,
too. I think that's what you want. But she can't get close to you
if she doesn't know you, and I wanted her to understand how decent
you are and that when you get angry and shut down, it is because
--
Sonny:
Because I'm damaged?
Alexis:
I didn't say that.
Sonny:
We're finished here. Ahem.
Alexis:
We are?
Sonny:
I confided in you. My mistake.
(Sonny
turns and walks out the door)
Alexis:
You do not get to walk out on me.
Alexis:
Hey, you may be finished, but I'm not.
(In
the hallway)
Sonny:
Where's courtney?
Johnny:
She stepped out with Skye Quartermaine.
Sonny:
You didn't follow her?
Johnny:
She'll be back in 10 minutes.
Sonny:
Is that what she told you?
Johnny:
She isn't leaving the building.
Sonny:
All right, get Max, comb the building, start with the parking garage.
Alexis:
Sonny, just don't --
Sonny:
Ahem.
Alexis:
Overreact because if you do that, you're just going to shut down
again, and I -- I know you don't want that.
Sonny:
She'll understand, now that she knows i'm deeply disturbed, thanks
to you.
[Alexis
sighs]
