"Let's Go Out"

Mac: Why would you approach a man you never met and tell him he's innocent unless you had knowledge that your mother was blackmailing him?

Scott: Whenever there's trouble, you're right in the middle of it. Another young girl you're corrupting like you did my daughter?

Sonny: You can move on now.

Scott: Your day will come. It'll come.

A.J.: Well, well. It's nice of my attorney to finally show up.

Scott: A.J., I've known you since you were in short pants, but don't push me. I'm in a bad mood. What have you done?

Mac: Look, you seem like a decent kid. I don't think you appreciate the trouble you'll be looking at if you withhold evidence or give a false statement.

Alexis: Careful, commissioner. You're tap-dancing on the fifth and 14th amendment.

Mac: If you're trying to protect your mother, we can work something out.

[Door opens]

Sonny: I'd like to hear this, if you don't mind.

Courtney: No. I'd like that.

Mac: Please remind your client what the penalty is for interfering with a police investigation.

Sonny: You don't have to be here.

Mac: She's a material witness to extortion and fraud.

Alexis: Are you seriously going to force her to testify against her own mother?

Mac: There's no such thing as parent/child privilege, Counselor.

Alexis: It has been recognized by judicial decision a hundred times in this state. And while you're catching up on your legal research, ask Dara Jensen because she would never compel a child to testify against her mother because she knows that juries frown upon it, what with most of them being parents.

Mac: I'm not after Ms. Matthews. And, as I was saying, we'll try and make a deal on her mother.

Sonny: Forget it, mac --

Mac: Get out of here, corinthos!

Courtney: Enough!

Mac: So help me, I'll charge you!

Alexis: Guys --

Courtney: Enough! You want to know what happened? The truth? Fine. I'll tell you.

Sonny: He's setting you up. Don't fall for it, Courtney.

Courtney: I've got nothing to hide. My mom told me that she was going out of town for a couple of days. And when she didn't come back when she was supposed to, I started getting worried. I called around work, her friends, but I couldn't find her. Finally she called and said that she was here in Port Charles and that something great had happened, something that would change my whole life.

Mac: She didn't mention what that was?

Courtney: She wouldn't. Not on the phone. So i drove up here and found out I had a brother that i never knew about.

Mac: And she didn't mention anything about Edward Quartermaine?

Courtney: No. I never even heard the name until I got here.

Mac: So despite what you said to the Quartermaines last night --

Alexis: Which is hearsay at best.

Mac: You're telling me now that you don't know anything about your mother and edward Quartermaine?

Courtney: I just told you everything I know.

Sonny: Ok. You got your statement. Let's go.

Mac: Well, looks like finding your brother has changed your life. Let's just hope it's a change you can live with.

Kristina: Excuse me, Lieutenant.

Taggert: Wait a second. What?

Kristina: Have you seen my sister, Alexis Davis? She left a message saying that she would be at the police station. What's going on?

Taggert: Your sister is over there in the interrogation room with the commissioner. If you want to wait, take a seat.

Janine: She was there. She was there with Edward Quartermaine when he tried to trap me.

Alexis: That's ridiculous. You're mistaken. She's mistaken, right?

Kristina: I was only trying to help.

Alexis: Why would you have anything to do with this in the first place?

Kristina: Because Edward asked me to. Look, he said that Janine was taking advantage of him, and I couldn't refuse to help him.

Alexis: Was that what you meant when you said you were trying to save him?

Kristina: I convinced edward to carry a hidden tape recorder to see if he could get a confession from Janine. And all she ended up telling him was that she missed him.

Mac: Edward was still convinced he slept with you. Why?

Janine: Honestly, I think it's because he really wanted to believe he had.

Mac: But you did get him a room and you did stay?

Janine: Well, of course. I had to make sure he was ok. And when he woke up, he -- he asked me how he was -- if you know what I mean -- and I -- I didn't want to hurt his feelings. I kind of felt sorry for him, so I -- I told him that he was the best.

Edward: She's doing it again. That's not what happened.

Janine: No, I -- and when I got here -- because he invited me, of course -- they just attacked me. It was like some kind of ambush. And the only thing I'd done was show concern for eddie. I -- you people, you -- you know, you need some serious counseling.

Edward: She is -- is stretching the truth. Now, Janine wanted my money right from the start, and she lied to get it. Skye knew about it and A.J. Knew about it, and they used it against me.

Taggert: Edward, did this lady actually ask you for any money?

Edward: Uh -- you mean directly?

Taggert: Edward, yes or no?

Edward: Well, no, Janine never asked me directly for anything, but we knew what she wanted right from the start. I suppose since you don't have a case against her, you might just as well let her and -- and her daughter go.

Mac: All right. You're free to go.

Janine: Thank you.

Mac: Uncuff her.

Sonny: Edward, Courtney's involvement ends here. So does her mother's. Keep her away from your family problems. You can go ahead and play games with jax and e.L.Q., But stay away from what's mine. Do you understand what i'm saying?

Jax: Sounds like you've got a problem.

Sonny: Not anymore. Excuse me.

A.J.: All right, Scott. Now what?

Scott: Well, Edward's still got a case against you if any other family members testify.

Edward: I'm testifying. That's more than enough. A.J., You're going to prison, son, and so is Skye. Give me that statement. I'm ready to sign it.

Jax: Edward, you and I need to have a word in private.

Edward: Now, look, if you want to feel sorry for that redheaded barracuda, you can feel sorry for her in prison. You're not going to say one thing that would change --

jax: Listen to me, ok? You're a man who looks after his own interest, right?

Edward: Right, mm-hmm.

Jax: That's why you're going to want to hear this. Come on.

Edward: Nothing you can say will change the way I'm thinking.

Jax: We'll see.

Alexis: Edward Quartermaine is the last person you want to get mixed up with, ok?

Kristina: Ok, ok. This is me backing off, all right?

Sonny: Alexis -- I want to know everything about what the cops think they might have on Courtney.

Alexis: You know, it's probably --

Sonny: Statements, investigation reports, whatever will give them implication --

Alexis: Ok, it's probably all over with, but we just don't want to take any chances right now with Taggert or the PCPD.

Sonny: All right. You ok?

Courtney: No.

Sonny: Don't worry about it. I said I'd take care of it.

Courtney: You can't. God -- don't you get it? Oh. Forget the police and the fact th was just almost arrested and forced to testify against my own mother. I just found out that my whole life is a lie. My father, who I have loved and missed since I was 8, wasn't really dead. He just didn't care about me enough to come and find me! He was too busy with you. Too busy spending time with you, my instant, overnight brother, who orders everyone around and -- God, he just expects everyone to do what he tells them! Well, I can't. I can't not worry and I can't not feel, and I am sick of you expecting me to trust you when I don't even know you!

Sonny: Ok. You're related to three people in this world. Two have lied to you. I haven't.

Courtney: How do i know? If I can't even believe my mother, how will I know whether to believe you?

Sonny: Ok, you know what? Don't believe me until you're ready. You can go ahead and stay here with Alexis and Kristina. You'll cool down. Then we'll see where we stand.

Courtney: God, won't you just stop trying to run my life. I will decide what I do next. Got it?

Courtney: Why is it everyone thinks they know what's best for me? You, Janine, even Mike.

Sonny: You don't have to see Mike if you don't want to.

Courtney: Oh, you mean I get to choose? Or are you going to start telling me what you think is best? I am not a helpless little kid. I have real feelings and real thoughts just like everybody else, and they are mine, not yours. I don't need protecting and I don't need you telling me what to do.

Sonny: Well, that's not what I'm trying to do.

Courtney: No? Then what?

Alexis: He is trying to help. He does feel responsible for you. Yes, he wants you to be safe. But that doesn't mean that he's trying to run your life.

Courtney: I am here because he wants me here, my mom stayed in town because he told her to, and you are trying to help me because you're his attorney. It's like all of a sudden I'm your property or something.

Sonny: I'm sorry you feel that way. That's not --

Courtney: Then just let me go, all right? I need to get out of here for just a couple of hours.

Sonny: Ok, can you at least tell me where you're going?

Courtney: What if I don't want to tell you?

Kristina: Hey, Courtney, why don't we go out? Just me and you. No relatives.

Courtney: Sounds good.

Kristina: Ok.

Courtney: Do you know anyplace cool?

Kristina: Um -- yeah. Yeah. Get my stuff. We will be fine, you guys. Don't worry. We won't be home too late.

Alexis: Don't you dare.

Alexis: Do not pick up that phone and do not call Johnny and have him follow Courtney.

Sonny: In a town where people know she's my sister, I don't want her to get hassled, you know what I mean?

Alexis: I know what you mean. You wanted to know about 20-year-old girls. Here's lesson number one -- they do not want to be protected, all right? She's in perfectly good hands with Kristina. They have a lot in common. Kristina will help her. She'll listen to her. They can talk about her feelings. It'll be fine, ok?

Sonny: Ok. Let's go out.

Alexis: No.

Sonny: Why not?

Alexis: Because I am not going to be used as part of your private reconnaissance mission.

Sonny: This has nothing to do with tailing Courtney. This has to do with I asked you out on New Year's Eve. I dragged you out of that restaurant before the appetizers came. I want to make it up to you.

Alexis: I'm busy. I'm busy. I have a lot of work to do.

Sonny: Do it tomorrow, bill me the overtime. Unless, of course, you know, I could always tail Kristina and Courtney --

Alexis: I'll go.

Sonny: Why, thank you, because if I stay here, I'm going to sit around driving myself crazy on that.

Alexis: We wouldn't want that, would we?

Sonny: And you're probably right. Courtney's in good hands with Kristina.
