2, 2002 Transcript Zander: Hey, Sonny. Alexis. Alexis: Hi. Sonny: Toasting the new year? Carly: And Zander's new social life. Sonny: Ah. Alexis: Oh. Were you going to mention that to me? Zander: It's no big deal. [Sonny laughs] Carly: I tried to fix zander up. I fixed him up with a date tonight, yet he's having second thoughts. Zander: I just met her. Carly: Hey, mandy liked you. She is gorgeous, she is smart. What do you have to lose? Sonny: You know what -- if the lady's offering to help, it wouldn't be polite to turn her down. Zander: All right, all right. I'll -- I'll give Mandy a call. Carly: Good. Well, I got a lot of work to do on my club. Sonny: What, you can't take the night off? Carly: No, not if I want it to open on time. Zander: Well, I'm -- I'm going to head out, too. Sonny: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on. Sonny: One second? Alexis: Ok. Sonny: Come here. Zander: What's up? What's up? Sonny: You need anything? Zander: No, no, I'm cool, I'm fine. Sonny: Show your date a good time. Zander: No, Sonny, that's all right, I got it covered. Sonny: No, no, no, no. You've earned it. You're keeping an eye on carly, doing a good job. Zander: Well, it's not like, you know, it's been heavy labor. Sonny: The point is I can count on you. Zander: Well, you've done a lot for me, sonny. I owe you. You know, the least I can do is a favor in return. Sonny: Oh, you don't want this to be about money? Zander: Exactly, you know, because it's not, it's not. Sonny: Ok, well, I tell you what -- consider this a New Year's bonus. Zander: No, Sonny -- Sonny: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Enjoy yourself. Zander: Thanks. Sonny: You ready to have a great New Year's? Alexis: I can't wait. Sonny: Yeah? Kristina: Do I really want to see this? Ned: We don't want to miss the grand finale. Let's go. Kristina: Oh, Lord. Roy: I thought they'd never leave. Melissa: Cheers. Jax: Excuse me, did you see where that young woman went? Sonny: What the hell did you do to that girl? Jax: Nothing. Sonny: Then why'd she leave? Jax: What's the matter, Corinthos? You see a young woman you want to exploit? Sonny: Answer me! Jax: Stay out of this. It's none of your business. Alexis: So was that girl -- Sonny: That's my sister. I'm going after her. You coming with me? Alexis: I guess so. Otherwise, I'll be standing here by myself. Sonny: All right, come on, let's go. Janine: So, what, you just marched into that restaurant and told the Quartermaines the truth? Courtney: I had to, Mom. Janine: No, you didn't. Courtney: You scammed an innocent person. It wasn't right! Janine: Look, you do not understand. Courtney: Ok, explain it. Janine: No, you know what? Just go pack your bag. We got to get out of here tonight. Courtney: What's the rush? Janine: I could go to jail for this, Courtney. Courtney: So you were just planning to skip town with the money and not say a word to clear Edward Quartermaine's name? Janine: Edward Quartermaine is a wily old goat with a ton of money and this would have been a drop in the bucket for him. Courtney: What is it with you, mom? You lie to me for years, tell me my own father is dead, and now this! How could you do it? Janine: Baby, when you have a daughter of your own, you're going to understand. Courtney: Try me now. Janine: Look, I always wanted you to have a chance, a decent life, a decent house, nice clothes, a college education, options. Baby, we live from week to week. I work -- I work two jobs and I barely make enough to pay the rent and put food on the table. I saw an opportunity here to just give us a little cushion. Now, that money means nothing to the Quartermaines, but it could mean everything to us. So I went for it. And I'm not sorry. Now, you got to go pack your bags because we are getting out of here tonight. Courtney: I'm not going. Janine: Yeah, you are. You're going with me. Sonny: No, she's not. You can stay with me.
