Act I

Tracy rejoices when Edward clears them of all wrongdoing. The Qs start fighting because of Tracy's apparent unsympathetic nature towards Edward's plight.

Emily freaks out because Nikolas is still trapped inside. Jason tells her what happened; she breaks down amidst an audience of characters I could care less about.

Tracy then tells the Qs that no one wants to run ELQ so she will -- and she can, now that Edward hasn't spoiled her reputation by making it seem like she was at all responsible.

Act II

Tracy and Dillon discuss their relationship with one another -- and with Edward.

Skye tells Justus about the last heart attack Edward had and the resulting faked coma.

Courtney, Jason, Sonny and Lorenzo head into the hospital with Emily. Jason is soon arrested for the attempted murder of Brian. Courtney wants to have Alan and Monica paged but when the nurse hears her name she tells her that Brian has been looking for her.

Act III

Lorenzo wants Carly to go home. She tells him she has no home. He asks her to come home with him.

Courtney tries to find Brian but alas -- there have been complications from his first gunshot wound and he's been taken to surgery.

Emily insists that someone take her back to the hotel to look for Nikolas. Her parents say no but Liz shows up and volunteers to drive her there instead.

Tracy goes in to see Edward who says he's died and gone to Hell.

Lorenzo, Sage and Carly go home. Lorenzo tells his niece they'll talk about why she was at the hotel in the morning. She leaves. Carly asks him if it's awkward having her there while his niece is. He says it's quite the opposite and that he's hoping she'll stay forever.

Sonny tells Sam he's gotten her a room at the Cosmopolitan. He tries to get to the bottom of how she managed to find Jax; Sam hedges. Sonny seems to sense there's more to the story.

Act IV

Courtney's surprised when Brian's doctor tells her that he didn't come through surgery all that well and that all they can do is wait... and hope.

At the PCPD Ric encourages Jason to say that Capelli tried to kill him. Jason won't say a word until Justus shows up.

Emily is discouraged by her parents to leave the hospital but Elizabeth explains when your boyfriend dies in a fire, a girl's just gotta see it for herself.

Sonny, walking with a cane returns home to find Michael, worried about Carly.

Sage has lent Carly some clothes which are perfectly suited for a warm summer night. Lorenzo invites her to live at the Skycliffe house. The phone rings; it's Sonny who asks Carly to come say goodnight to Michael -- alone.

Act V

Sonny, in a maroon shirt, smiles when Carly comes through the door. She tells Michael all that got her through the fire was picturing his and Morgan's faces. Michael wants things to go back to the way they were and asks why they can't. Neither adult has an answer.

Sage can't sleep. Lorenzo reiterates how glad he is that she's OK. She asks if he loves Carly; he says that he does.

At the hospital Alan & Monica can't believe Tracy was allowed to be alone with Edward.

At the fire site Ned's giving a press conference. Emily shows up with Liz in tow. Emily heads into the building to look through the rubble; neither Ned nor Liz attempt to stop her.

Act VI

Helena tells the Qs (discussing Nik's death) that she'll make them pay.

Brian apologizes to Courtney because he was not honest with her.

Jason admits to Ric that he didn't shoot Brian; that Capelli did.

Carly tells Michael that she's arranged for a house with a room for him and Morgan. Michael goes upstairs. Sonny tells Carly that he won't let her take his sons. She tells him she has temporary custody. He slams the door in her face and she mutters, "nice, wake up the kids".

Brian apologizes to Courtney, then dies.

Ric tells Capelli and Jason that the bullet that was found in Brian's chest didn't come from Jason's gun.

At the site, Sam (looking more and more like Neve Campbell with each passing day) asks for Jax' discretion when it comes to telling Sonny what happened between them. He grants it.

Emily keeps calling out for Nikolas as Liz and Ned look on at the distraught girl.

Helena puts a curse on the Qs and they laugh it off.

Preview

, in what looks like a chocolate-brown or eggplant-colored suit, is told to "get out" by Helena. She stands toe to toe with her and says defiantly, "I'm running this family now".

At the hospital, Lucky tells Luke they haven't found Nikolas' body yet.

Emily accosts Edward and screams at him, "why didn't you tell Nikolas he was risking his life?" as Edward clutches at his heart.

Somewhere outside (it looks like the park or the bluffs at Wyndemere) Courtney, in a black leather coat, asks Jason if he killed Brian. Capelli eavesdrops as Jason says no, and Courtney says, "but you were gonna, right?"
