Act I
Chanelling the frightened, passion-filled performance of Meryl Streep's Francesca Johnson, explains to Carly why she lied about her daughter. Carly accuses her of not wanting to share Kristina with anyone. asks her how she can sit in judgement of her when Sonny is doing the same thing to her.

Sonny heads to Sam's room. Faith follows him in.

Skye and Luke decide to forge on alone.

Courtney ties Skippy to the stairs and leads Louise through the fire, navigating the treacherous terrain as only Courtney can.

Brian and Jason say there are only six more flights to safety.

Helena urges Nik to take the stairs.

Tracy tells Justus they need to stick together as a family -- too bad he's not part of said family.

Jax rescues Sam. She takes a shower and is ready to go but Jax insists they stay.

Act II
Faith tells Sonny she wants to form an alliance. He says she's wasting their time.

Nik tells Em that Helena wants him to take the stairs. Em considers it.

Edward tells Tracy when he looks at her he sees the worst of himself. Tracy is happy by this because it means she's succeeded.

Brian and Jason find a fire in their path and begin to think of a way to get the kids through it.

Maxie goes to visit Mac in the hospital. He's encased in bandages and she apologizes for doing this to him by not telling him about Zander.

In the elevator Carly tells to stop yapping. She in turn says that she doesn't consider confronting her mortality to be yapping. Carly jumps up and looks through the top. She tells that if they can pry the elevator doors open they will be in front of floor, not a brick wall. She then tells her to get her lazy butt up off the floor and help her.

Act III
Carly has jumped from the elevator to the floor below and encourages Alexis to do the same. is afraid and Carly points out that she's always thought she was better at everything and now's her chance to prove it. says she never thought she was better -- just more logical, and smarter. But not a better athlete. Plus she says Carly has better survival skills. "Kind of like a cockroach". Her words, not mine. jumps to safety and then pleads with Carly not to tell Sonny her secret.

Lucky tells Nik not to tell a lot of people he's making a run for it. Emily bids her mother goodbye and then stands under a chandelier that seems to be falling. Nik makes a run to push her out of the way.

Jax tells Sam he's going to get them dinner and that the rescue won't be long now. Sam doesn't believe him.

Courtney takes Louise to safety and promises to go back for Skippy.

Brian and Jason make it through the stairwell with the kids but Brian shrugs off Jason's help.

Luke and Skye look at the monitors in the security area and find the laundry cart. He wants to go get it.

Act IV
Courtney brings Louise outside where she deposits her. Soon after, her chauffer announces that she's one of the richest women in Port Charles.

Nik and Em are basically OK after the chandelier incident but Em has a big gash in her leg which might be an arterial bleed.

Jason and Brian show up with the kids; their parents are really grateful. He then goes over to see Emily.

Faith and Sonny are plugging away trying to get up the stairs when she twists her ankle and he can't seem to decide whether to leave her or not.

Skye and Luke find the treasure. Luke's a happy man.

At the hospital Maxie tells Cameron that Zander died in the fire.

wants Carly to promise not to tell Sonny the truth. Carly says she has no reason to keep her secret and that if ' luck holds, Carly will die in the fire and she won't have to worry about this. A man passes by. An explosion rips through their corner of the hotel.

Act V
Carly and Alexis become separated in the blast. Carly lies motionless and reassures her that she's going to get help.

Faith tells Sonny that Carly and Lorenzo have been going at it like bunnies since they broke up.

Sonny makes his way to the Versailles room and tells Lucky he needs to know where his wife is.

Jason learns from Lucky via a fireman that Courtney rescued someone and went back in to find her dog. Does the show seriously believe that making Courtney heroic is going to make us like her? We don't like her. We'll never like her. Having her save a dog named Skippy? It won't help!

Courtney takes Skippy into an abandoned room which coincidentally has 3 full water bottles on the counter as well as a half-melted bucket of ice that she uses for the dog.

Jason and Brian head out to find Courtney.

Monica tells Nik that she needs more medical supplies or Emily will die. Helena looks on.

Act VI
Courtney passes out but Skippy licks her face and wakes her up. Skippy then takes off down the hall where Jason and Brian find him. They are led to Courtney via the dog. Courtney and Jason embrace.

leaves the building and tells the firemen to go find Carly.

Cameron shows up and heads inside.

Jax and Sam realize their time is limited and begin to forge the most romantic end possible by dancing.

Monica takes off to go look at the kids. Nik tries to get a helicoptor to drop a bag of medical supplies. Justus and Edward talk and then Justus says a prayer for Emily. Helena looms over Emily and does a nice soliloquy where she threatens to take off the tourniquet and let her bleed to death. Just do it for pete's sake, PLEASE!

Skye and Luke, dressed up like small children in all the treasure, head down the stairs where they find Cameron on his way up.

Sonny and Lucky head to the bank of security cameras. Lucky wants clarification on Sonny's feelings for Carly since he just had her arrested. He reiterates that she's his wife.

Carly lies motionless amongst the burning fire raging on.

Port Charles Hotel, 10:05 PM

Jason and Courtney see a ceiling falling and Jason tells Courtney to go.

Sam and Jax, in the afterglow of lovemaking, reconnect. She tells him she's exactly where she wants to be.

Monica and Nikolas re-examine the cut on Emily's leg as they realize her blood has soaked the bandages and Helena looks on ominously.

Cameron pushes someone out of the way as a burning beam hurtles downwards. Trapped under the beam he's lifeless and Luke moves to brush his eyelids closed.

Sonny, chanelling Dan Hedaya, insists that Carly's his wife. Yet again. Like we'd forgotten in the last five minutes since the last time he reminded us.
