Sage thinks Georgie's kidding around but Dillon opens the door and sees smoke.

Faith and Skye drag Luke into a room. Faith thinks she'd be better at mouth to mouth since her lips have raised the dead in the past but Skye does it.

Brian and Jason head up the stairs after Brian misses the signs of a backdraft and Jason sees them.

Courtney bypasses the fireman and heads upstairs to find Jason.

Trapped in the elevator is calm while Carly freaks out. Carly opens the door with a stilletto but finds a brick wall instead of an elevator shaft.

Sonny sees Lorenzo pinned under the rubble and heads off anyway.

Act II
Courtney continues up the smoky stairs.

Emily reassures Nikolas that it's simply not his fault that Zander might've died because HE LOCKED HIM IN THE ROOM WITH THE FIRE.

Helena and Tracy talk about how much they disapprove of Nik & Em while Monica tells them to zip it.

Maxie wants to look at the body that is being taken away but the fireman won't let her. Ric shows up and she admits that Zander was in the basement. Ric asks hopefully, "Zander's dead?"

Sonny breaks open the glass housing an axe and takes off with the axe.

doesn't understand why Carly is climbing the walls. Carly pops the roof off the elevator and sees that the cable is about to snap. She tells this.

Dillon and Georgie put towels under the door. Dillon wants Tom to open the window and signal to the helicoptors that they are up there. The door won't open and he wants to smash it but Dillon says that if he does that it will create a burst of air and fire needs air to breathe. He footnotes himself. "Ron Howard, Backdraft, 1991". Could I possibly love Dillon anymore?

Act III
Courtney runs into an old lady and her dog in the stairwell. The old lady asks for help but Courtney's got one purpose -- rescuing Jason. The old lady says she'll be OK.

Jason shoots a lock off a door which feels cool to the touch. He does it because the kids need water. He and Brian take them to get water.

Sonny attacks the beam trapping Lorenzo with an axe. Lorenzo calls him a sadist. He says when he kills him it won't be an accident and he won't see him coming.

Luke wakes up and he and Faith head out but Skye won't follow.

Looking increasingly scared says she's a logical person. She opens her purse, takes out her glasses, and prepares to look for a logical pattern as to how the elevator is wired so they can hotwire it. She tells Carly she's surprised she doesn't know how to hotwire it. All of a sudden the lights flicker and the car begins to shoot downwards.

Act IV
Courtney and Louise make their way down the stairwell with Skippy in tow.

Jason, Brian and the kids end up in a room. Jason says the kids need fresh air and when Brian says the window's jammed he uses a chair to smash it open. "Fresh air," he says, triumphantly.

Skye doesn't want to go and convinces Luke and Faith to leave without her. She sits down and Luke comes back for her and says he's not leaving without her.

Edward hedges when he's asked who's responsible for keeping the building up to code. Lucky announces that they will have to be evacuated from the helicoptor.

Carly and realize the emergency break on the car is holding. However it still creaks. Alexis says if she dies Kristina has no one. Carly says she's got her father. <pan to shot of Sonny>.

Sonny hurt himself while rescuing Lorenzo so Lorenzo drags him out.

Liz, surely having flashbacks to April 1999 when Lucky "died" in a fire is relieved when Ric's OK.

Act V
In an extreme close-up where both characters have monologues, the camera stays a lot longer on a subtle, not-blinking, clearly torn-up . They recount stories of their children, and Carly tries to reassure her that if they don't survive the Qs will be devoted to Kristina; Ned's the best of the bunch. says "Kristina's not a Quartermaine".

Tom hugs Georgie and tells her that she's a pretty cool girl. Dillon comforts Sage and watches Georgie with Tom.

Brian asks Jason why he didn't let him get himself killed opening the door on the tenth floor. Jason says he needed him to help save the kids.

Sonny wakes up and asks Lorenzo where they are -- floor twelve. Lorenzo says when Sonny dies, it won't be an accident.

Act VI
Georgie tells Dillon that if this is the last time they ever talk she wants him to know he's the only guy she's ever loved. Lorenzo bursts through the door promising to save everyone.

Jason realizes that the little boy took off to go "help" the firemen

tells Carly she never should've let Ned put his name on the birth certificate. She then says that Sonny is a good father. Carly slowly starts to get it. "Yes he is a good father to Michael and Morgan," but Alexis confirms he's Kristina's daddy too.

Sonny, with an axe, looms near the elevator

Courtney and Louise and Skippy realize that the floors lower to them are burning.

On the roof the helicoptor can't land because of the high winds.

Helena tells Nikolas to save himself. He scoffs.

Skye and Luke kiss, then head out to brave the flames.

Liz asks Ric how they'll get everyone out. Ric says not everyone's coming out.
