Jax
listened to Alexis prattle on about Courtney. But he wasn't really
paying attention.
He just listened to the sound of her voice, not necessarily the
words.
It was so nice to hear her voice again. It had been far too long
since he'd
seen her, let alone had a nice conversation with her.
Sure, he'd seen her about town with Kristina but usually one of
them had
been too busy to actually sit down and talk.
And now here she was -- talking to him.
And they were talking about Courtney.
Courtney -- Sonny's sister.
Sonny.
Not exactly a topic of conversation they had agreed on in the past.
Yea -- understatement of the year.
But here they were talking about Courtney and Jax's interest in
her.
Well okay, she was talking and he was listening.
But he didn't want to listen or talk about Courtney anymore.
He wanted to know how his favorite ex-wife was and what she was
up to.
He had seen her with Ric--Sonny's bother; again not a good sign--when
he and
Courtney had entered Kelly's. What was up there?
And he wondered how his niece was doing.
He soon realized he knew next to nothing about Alexis' life right
now.
That would have to change.
He interrupted her ramblings. "We need to get together and
talk. Like old
times."
She stopped talking and looked at him. "Okay," she said
simply with a
dimpled grin on her face.
They set a time and date and Alexis promised to bring Kristina.
Alexis then left him standing in the middle of Kelly's to go back
to her
whatever with Ric.
He saw Mike and Courtney still talking and headed over there to
do damage
control.
He then saw Sam walk in.
This day was just bound to get worse.
But then he saw Alexis talking animatedly to Ric about something.
He thought
he caught the words gymnastics and French fries, but he couldn't
be
sure. (He really needed to find out what was going on between those
two).
But in that moment he knew he had something to look forward to at
the end of
this day that was slowly going downhill...
He would soon be seeing Alexis for a reunion of sorts. A reunion
of
friendship.
That alone would make him smile even on the worst of days.
