of View Series Part 2 -- Ellie's little brother (Ellie's POV) Mommy and daddy brought my baby brother home from the hospital today. His name is Morgan James, but we are gonna call him MJ. He's really little but kinda cute. Mommy says he looks just like I did when I was born, but that I had more hair and my temper was not as bad as MJ's. Mommy says MJ has his daddy's personality. I feel bad for daddy cause he can't hold MJ very good. Mommy squeezed daddy's hand so hard when she was having MJ that now daddy has to wear this thing called a cast on his hand. Daddy says he got the better end of the deal though, whatever that means, cause it's hard to change diapers with only one good hand. Daddy said mommy is the one I should feel bad for. I saw her changing him the other day. I think daddy is right. Yuck! I remember the day mommy and daddy told me they were gonna have a baby brother or sister for me. I was super excited and asked when it was gonna come. Mommy said it would take 5 more months for the baby to finish growing and that I had to be patient. Then they asked me if I wanted to ask them anything. I asked them if this had anything to do with that grown up wrestling I saw on tv. Mommy gave daddy that look she gives me when I am in trouble. Daddy winked at her, but me and daddy still didn't get to watch tv for a week. Mommy acted a little different when she was waiting for MJ to come. She kept talking `bout having to wear something called a size 92 muumuu. I don't know what that is, but I don't think mommy likes it. And she got a little cranky sometimes cause daddy wouldn't let her have any popcorn OR coffee and those are her two favorite things in the world next to me and daddy. Also, sometimes she would cry or get grumpy for no reason. Daddy said it was cause of something called hormones. Mommy said it was NOT because of hormones and daddy said it WAS, and mommy said it wasn't and her and daddy had a silly fight like me and my friends do sometimes and mommy told daddy she wasn't gonna be wrestling with him anytime soon. Daddy said they would see about that. Their door was closed that night. Oh, and we had a party for mommy before the baby was born called a shower. I didn't understand why it was called that and daddy explained to me so that I understood it. Daddy says I am like mommy cause I have to have things `splained to me, but he says that is a good thing. The party was really fun and mommy got lots of neat stuff. Only thing I didn't really understand was what Auntie Kristina got. It had to do with having MJ's future read or somethin like that. When mommy told daddy about that present, daddy just rolled his eyes and said something `bout Pluto and dogs. I liked sitting next to mommy sometimes and feel MJ kicking mommy's tummy. He would kick really hard and I was afraid that he was hurting mommy but she said no, it didn't hurt at all, just made it hard to sleep sometimes. I offered to let her sleep with my penguin. Mommy just smiled and said that it was very nice of me to offer to share, but that daddy would just have to stay awake and keep her company. She said it served him right since he was the one that put MJ in her tummy. We are having a party for MJ next week called a Christening. Mommy says it is like a party where we go to church and the priest puts water on MJ's head. She also said we would get to have cake. I am excited for next week to get here. Daddy says he is excited for five weeks to get here. I don't know what that means, but mommy smiled and got red in the face. Daddy winked at her. Five weeks and four days later. Me and MJ are spending the night with Auntie Kristina tonight. I asked daddy why when he got back from getting his cast off his arm. He just said that sometimes grownups need to be alone and have quiet time together. Mommy said that she and daddy are gonna have a marathon wrestling session. Daddy just winked at her and said, "hey, hey." I have a feeling I am gonna get a new brother or sister soon.
