Longing

part 8

"You bought a house without asking me?"

"Only because I know you'll love it, and I didn't want someone else to snatch it up."

"Well when do I get to see what I didn't pick out?" Alexis asked.

"How about tonight. Michael can watch the little ones."

"Are you sure he can handle it."

"Positive, and besides if we bring the kids along we won't be able to christen the place properly." Sonny said.

"I should have know your motivation for all this was sex."

"What wrong with a little sexual motivation. I haven't heard you complaining."

"How can I. I have to cover my mouth to stifle my screams, or you kiss me into silent submission every time you jump me when I least expect it."

"Are you trying to tell me you weren't willing?" He asked.

"I refuse to answer that on the grounds that it may incriminate me."

"That's what I thought."

"You're arrogance hasn't lessened in the years we were apart." She said.

"Neither has yours."

"Come with me."

"Where are we going?"

"You don't want to come?" Alexis asked with a seductive smile. Sonny followed her without another word.

"I love all of it, but this....this is the clincher!" She said as she entered the master bath. A huge jetted tub big enough for four, and for two to have a whole lot of fun, and the shower was amazing. It was all granite, and there were multiple showerheads coming out from all sides, and ever height and angle to douse you from head to toe, and beat the stress from your muscles. "The shower alone has got to be at least 15 X 15! It's so big!"

"So I take it you like it?"

"You take it right. Turn it on."

Sonny picked up the remote, and water came shooting out. "You can adjust the temperature and pressure, and the remote is waterproof so you can do it all while you're in there."

"I've seen these bathrooms in magazines featuring luxury homes, but I never thought I'd have one. You're the best honey." She said as she wrapped herself around him, and kissed him deeply. "I can't believe you bought this for me."

"For you? Did you see the kitchen?" Sonny asked.

"Oh I saw it all right, and that island is going to see some action, but right now I feel like getting wet."

"Well you've come to the right place."

"I never had any doubt." Alexis said as she peeled off her clothes and walked into the shower. Sonny stood in place unable to take his eyes off her. "Do you need an engraved invitation?" She asked as she ran her fingers through her wet hair as she stood under the spray.

"No." He said choking out the word. It would be hard to describe all the different things he was feeling at this very moment. Love, desperation, longing, and fear of needing the beautiful woman standing gloriously naked in the shower more than he needed to draw breath. He slowly removed his clothing and stepped into the steam filled shower. Her soft slick skin pressed against his, and he groaned in delicious agony.

By the time they arrived back at the apartment in the city, both their heads were a mass of out of control waves and curls. Kristina looked at them funny noticing the change in their appearance from when they had left.

"Did you get caught in a rainstorm?" Kristina asked.

"Something like that. We're you good for Michael?"

"Of course Mommy."

"Where are the boys?" Sonny asked.

"Upstairs playing video games."

"Ah."

"So what's the house like?"

"Huge, and beautiful, with a gorgeous garden, a gourmet kitchen, enough bedrooms for everyone to have their own, and a pool so big you could swim for days without stopping." She said.

"I can't wait to move in. I'm gonna go tell M & M." Kristina said taking the stairs two at a time.

"M & M?"

"It's just easier than saying Michael and Morgan."

"Gotcha. I've been meaning to ask you; about my proposal." He said.

"Proposal, what proposal? I saw no handsome man down on bended knee before me, or a pretty ring being slipped on my finger."

"I fondly recall being down on my knees before you not more than a few hours ago, and my fingers were quite slip.........."

"Sonny!" Alexis blushed profusely and slapped her hand over his mouth. "Shhh."

"I'm kidding, well I'm not, but come on Alexis please take pity on a desperate man and marry me. I can tell you ten different ways to Sunday how much I love and need you, but I want more than anything to be able to say those words to my wife."

"Well when you put it that way how can I refuse?"

"You can't."

"I'm not."

"So?"

"Yes. I'll marry you Sonny Corinthos." She said as her eyes started to well up with tears.

"Thank you God." He said pulling her into a hungry kiss.

"You didn't actually believe I'd turn you down did you?" She asked.

"I wasn't sure. You're so unpredictable."

"It's best to keep you on your toes, and speaking of appendages there's something missing from one of mine. Whatever could it be?"

"A ring?" Sonny asked pulling the black velvet box from his pocket, and pulling back the hinged lid.

"A beautiful ring. Oh my god Sonny it's gorgeous."

"Only the best for my future wife." He winked as he slipped the four-karat diamond solitaire on her finger.

"I like the way that sounds. Come here soon to be husband. I feel an overwhelming need to shower you with affection." Alexis said.

"Make sure you get me real good behind the ears."

"You got it."

Epilogue

"How do I look Mommy?" Kristina asked as she twirled around in her dress.

"Like the most beautiful flower girl/maid of honor in the whole world." Alexis said as she knelt down in front of her daughter.

"You look pretty too Mommy."

"Thanks sweetheart. For that, and for wearing a dress."

"Well there's a first time for everything, and don't tell anyone, but I kind of like it."

"You're secret is safe with me. Now let's go knock Daddy off his feet."

"Ok I'll go tell Uncle Jax you're ready."

"Thank you baby."

"Someone told me you needed an escort down the aisle." Jax said as he walked in the room.

"I don't need it, but I do want it, and if I feel like running this time it will be in the direction of the groom."

"I just want my favorite ex-wife to be happy, and if Sonny Corinthos is the reason for the smile on your face, and that sparkle in your eye then I'm behind this marriage a hundred and ten percent."

"Thank you ex-husband. I love you."

"I love you." He said kissing her cheek as the wedding march began to play." That's our cue. Ready?"

"Ready."

Sonny was so handsome in his tux, and when he flashed those dimples as she walked toward him her stomach did a somersault. Alexis smiled back, and took a brief look around the small country church they had decided to get married in. The people she loved most were in attendance, Jane, Zander, Nikolas, Sam, Luke, and Gia. She was glad they were here to support her, but all she needed was straight-ahead staring back at her. Kristina standing with her bouquet of gardenias, grinning from ear to ear. Michael standing tall and proud next to his father, and Morgan looking so adorable in his tux while holding the ring bearer's pillow. And then there was Sonny. In all her life she never would have imagined a day like this would come. A day when she was free to love him, and be loved by him in return. It was an indescribable happiness that she felt when she placed her hand in his, and took the two carpeted steps upward to stand by his side where she was meant to be.
