part 5

“I think I’ll move to Manhattan.”

"Yeah!"

Alexis choked on her eggs and gulped her orange juice to wash it down.

“Um what about Michael and Morgan?”

“They can visit. Get to know their sister.”

“I’d love that!” Kristina said happily.

“Kristina how would you like to live with me, and then see Daddy on the weekends?” she asked.

“I OBJECT!” she shouted and banged her fist on the table.

“Watch it young lady!” Alexis said crisply.

“I’m sorry, but I do.” Kristina said as she looked imploringly at her mother. “Why can’t Daddy live here with us? If you let him stay he can have my room, and I can sleep with you Mommy.”

“Now I object,” Sonny said. No one, not even his daughter was going to take his place in Alexis’ bed if he had anything to say about it. “You don’t have to give up your room to me Kristina.”

“I want to live with both of you all the time or not at all.”

“That’s not possible sweetheart,” Alexis told her.

“Then I’ll run away!”

“Run away? You’re a child. You don’t have any money. Where would you go?” she asked.

“Anywhere she wants. She has your titanium charge card,” Sonny chuckled.

“Be quiet,” Alexis said with a menacing glare.

“I could go to with Uncle Jax, or Grandma would let me live with her.”

“Well if you went there, we’d find you.”

“I didn’t say I didn’t want to be found,” Kristina said with a pout.

“Listen. No one is running away. Not you, your mom and especially not me; we’ll figure this all out together ok,” he said.

“Ok,” the girls mumbled in unison.

"Kristina go get cleaned up while I talk to your mom would ya?”

“Yes sir.”

“What’s the problem Alexis?”

“You’ve been back in my life for three days Sonny.”

“And that’s a problem?” he asked.

“No. I’m fine really. This is all just a little overwhelming.”

“Are you still ok about last night?”

“Yes last night was wonderful.”

“Come here,” Sonny whispered. She stood beside his chair. He pulled her down and settled her in his lap. Her arms twined around his neck as Alexis looked into his handsome face, and felt her heart start to flutter. “Would it be so bad going to bed each night and waking up every morning together?” His hand slipped inside her robe. “I’d make you fabulous home-cooked meals every day, and make crazy passionate love to you every night.” Her breath caught in her throat as he played with her body. “You know I love you like no one else can.”

“You’re awful…cocky,” she said breathlessly as he shifted beneath her.

“Only for you Alexis. Please let me stay so I can love you and our daughter like you deserve.”

You can stay, and you can sleep in my bed, but I have one condition,” she purred as she nipped at his earlobe.

“What’s that?” he asked primed and ready to take her back to that very bed.

“No babies. I’m forty....something, and Kristina is more than enough to handle."

“I understand. We’ll take precautions from now on.”

“I’m on the pill Sonny. Why do you think I didn’t freak out when we didn’t use a condom last night?”

“Never thought of that just, figured you preferred me au natural.”

“I do, but I need you to calm down now and tame your lust because our daughter’s right outside that door, and I’m not about to explain the reason for THAT to her."

“I’ll just tell her you caused it.”

“Don’t you dare!” Alexis said slapping at him playfully.

“Well then you’re going to have to take care of it because it’s not going anywhere as long as you’re around.”

“Three days and already you’re a pain in my ass.” She sighed dramatically. “Fine I’ll take care of it. Go to my room, and I’ll meet you there as soon as I put our highly intelligent prodigy off for just a bit longer.”

“See this is why I love you so much. You’re so giving and agreeable,” Sonny said, kissing her lips before lifting her off his lap and making his way to what was now their bedroom.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“It took you long enough,” he said.
“You’ve been waiting all of four minutes and it’s obviously done nothing to diminish your current state. I had to send her down the hall to Ms. Stanphill’s to get some cookies that she has baked for us. Kristina will be gone about 15 minutes. Ms. Stanphill always has a story to tell, or some new collectible to show her.”
“Well let’s get started shall we?”
“Nope you stay right there. I’m a little how do I say…sensitive after our last go round,” Alexis said as she dropped to her knees at the foot of the bed.
“Ahhh……oh GOD!!! I really do you love Alexis, and not just because of the “things’ you do for me, and I promise after a few more days I’ll have my lust under control,” Sonny said quickly. His brain was about to shut down and not think of anything, but the pleasure she gave.
“You’d better not. We have eight years to make up for.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“Hi Daddy. Where’s Mommy?” Kristina asked as she walked into the apartment with a tray full of cookies.

“She’s in the shower. Come and have a seat so we can talk.”

“I’m all ears.”

“Yea, but you’re missing a few teeth,” Sonny teased.

“Uh Dad!”

“I’m just kidding you’re as beautiful as ever. I have good news. It looks like I’m moving in.”

“That’s great,” she said giving him a big hug.

“Do you need my bed?”

“No I’ll be sharing Mommy’s.”

“I figured you would be. What made her change her mind? Did you give her the dimples? They work every time.”

“Among other things, so I’m going to go back to Port Charles today and pick up some of my things, and I’m going to see your brothers. Would you like to come with me?” Sonny asked.

“I’d love too, and can we go to Kelly’s? I didn’t get to when we were there last week. Their patty melts rock!”

“Sure we can, but we have to ask Mommy first if you can go with me.”

“I hope she says yes.”

“Says yes to what?” Alexis asked.

“Can I go to Port Charles with Daddy today?”

“Sonny I don’t know..…

“It’ll be fine Alexis. Nothing is the same as when you left. It’s ok. Please trust me.”

“I trust you. This is just hard for me.”

“I’ll be on my best behavior Mom, and do exactly what Daddy tells me. Please can I go?” Kristina pleaded as she threw her arms around Alexis’ waist and rested her chin on her stomach, and looked up at her expectantly.

“Is this the way it’s always going to be with the double-teaming?” she asked.

“Just this once, and you’re more than welcome to come along for the ride,” he said.

“I’ve had quite enough riding this morning thank you. Have fun sweetie,” Alexis told her as she kissed her baby’s forehead and cheeks.

“Thank you Mommy.”

“You’re welcome. Daddy can I see you in the kitchen for a moment?”

“What’s up Alexis?” Sonny asked.

“Nothing much,” she said pulling him by the belt loops so he was pressed intimately against her body. Her lips moved over his in the softest whisper. “I really do trust you, but please take extra good care of our baby. She’s the only one I’ve got.” Alexis then deepened the kiss and wrapped her arms around his neck.

“Ahem.” Kristina cleared her throat. Her parents had not even heard her walk into the kitchen. They had been too engrossed in “other” activities.

Alexis laughed against Sonny’s mouth. This is something I’d better get used to, being caught in passionate clenches with him, she thought.

“Sorry honey, Daddy was just saying goodbye.”

“Then say the words. Don’t kiss. Yuck!”

“Goodbye Alexis,” he said with a heart-stopping dimpled smile.

“Goodbye Sonny.” Alexis waved as Sonny walked backwards out of the kitchen never taking his eyes off her until the door swung closed and he could see her no longer.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As much as he enjoyed spending time with alone Alexis he enjoyed his time alone with their daughter just as much. The hour drive back to Port Charles had been an experience. Kristina took control of the radio, and had sung nearly every song that had come on, except the ones she didn’t like of course. She thought the lyrics made no sense; she, like her mother, had analyzed them to death. Father and daughter talked candidly, and he found her to be great company.
“Kristina you weren’t really serious about running away earlier if you couldn’t live with me and your mom were you?” Sonny asked.
“No. I could never leave mom. She needs me.”
“You need her too don’t you?”
“Of course I do, just like I need you,” she smiled.
“Right. Just like that.”
Sonny showed his kid off with pride to almost everyone he came into contact with. He had yet to make it over to see Michael and Morgan, but planned to after he and Kristina had a late lunch at Kelly’s. Unfortunately for them all Michael and Morgan were there with their mother. He couldn’t ignore them so he took a deep breath, and headed for their table.
“Hey guys.”
“Dad!” Morgan shouted.
“Hey,” Michael said.
“Sonny,” Carly said with cool disdain as her eyes lowered to focus on the dark haired girl by his side. “And who are you?” she asked.
“I’m Kristina Davis. It’s nice to meet you,” she said politely holding out her hand.
“Alexis’ brat Kristina? What are you doing with her Sonny?”
“I’m not a brat!”
“She’s…”
“I’m his daughter, and whomever you are, you are very rude!”
“His daughter?” she scoffed. “After all these years Alexis is still playing that card?”
“Be quiet Carly, it’s the truth.”
“You sure were a lot quicker to believe her than you were me. Did you even ask for a paternity test?”
“Stop this right now. Michael, will you do me a favor, and take Morgan and Kristina outside and wait for me? I’ll be there in a minute as soon as I’m done talking to your mom.”
“Sure thing. Come on,” he said rounding up the two kids and ushering them out front. He had no desire to witness another fight between them, and he’d protected Morgan from being party to them for years.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“Was that your mom?” Kristina asked the two boys as they sat down at one of the tables.

“Yea that’s her,” Michael said as his mother’s inappropriate behavior had embarrassed him once again.

“Well I’m glad she’s not mine.”

“Hey don’t say that!” Morgan piped up.

“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said anything.”

“So you’re our sister huh?” Michael asked.

“I guess so. It’s nice to meet you by the way.”

“I remember your Mom when she lived here. She was always really nice to me,” he told her.

“She’s always nice to everybody.”

“So Kristina, why did your mom just now tell our Dad about you?”

“She said something about bad people that worked at his job that might try and hurt me.”

“She wasn’t lying. I think it’s better that you weren’t around when you were little.”

“Mom has always taken good care of me, and now I have a daddy that will too.”

“He’s ours you can’t have him!” Morgan snipped.

“Why can’t we share?” Kristina asked.

“I don’t share!”

“Don’t worry about him. He’ll get used to the whole idea of having a sister.”

“You’re handling this very well.”

“I’ve learned to be resilient.

“Great use of the word, Michael,” she said approvingly.

“You’re a nerd?” he said with a teasing smile.

“Yes, but in a good way.”

“Me too,” Michael smiled, realizing he had a friend and ally in his new found little sister.

Morgan on the other hand was still quite skeptical of Kristina.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“So how’d she spring it on you Sonny?” Carly asked.
“She didn’t. Kristina told me, sort of.”
“At that bitch’s prompting I’m sure.”
“Knock it off. Alexis had nothing to do with this. If she had it her way I probably still wouldn’t know.”
“And you’re ok with that?”
“We've worked it out, and I’m moving to Manhattan.”
“I can’t believe you still let her lead you around by the nose after all this time,” Carly said, filled with spite.
“I love Alexis, Carly. Always have, and always will. Time didn’t change anything. I want to be with her and my daughter.”
“What about your other children?”
”They will still be my priority as always. I’ll bring them into the city on weekends. They’ll love it.”
“I don’t want my kids around that witch. There’s no telling what lies she’ll fill their heads with about me.”
“She’s not like that and you know it. You’re the one spouting derogatory remarks to her kid, not the other way around. Now listen I want to take Michael and Morgan back with me tonight.”
“Fine. They can go if they want too.”
“Thank you. I’ll bring them back on Sunday afternoon. You know how to reach me if you need to.”
“Yea.”
Sonny went outside and asked if they would like to go back with he and Kristina. Michael accepted quickly, but Morgan was more hesitant, but after Kristina’s insistent urging he begrudgingly agreed when she told him of all the fun they would have.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It was late when they arrived back in the city. Michael and Sonny carried Kristina and Morgan into the building and rode the elevator to the fifth floor. Sonny lightly tapped on the door of Alexis’ apartment. She opened the door with a smile that faded when she saw he’d come home with more than one kid. Michael followed his father inside, and asked where he could put Morgan down. Alexis pointed to the sofa while Sonny took Kristina up to her room.

“Hello Ms. Davis. It’s nice to see you again,” Michael said.

“Boy, you sure have grown up.”

“Yea I have. How’ve you been?”

“Just fine. Thank you for asking.”

“I like Kristina. She's a really good kid, smart too,” he said breaking the ice.

“Yes she is. I’m very proud of her.”

“Do you go to her school when she gets awards and stuff?”

“Of course I do. I wouldn’t miss it.”

“That’s nice. Dad comes to my things too.”

“What about your mom?” Alexis asked.

“She doesn’t the have time,” he said dejectedly.

“Oh. I’m sorry to hear that Michael."

“Don’t be. I’m used to it.”

“It doesn’t mean it hurts any less.”

“I guess not. Do you have enough room for us to stay with you tonight?" he asked, quickly changing the subject.

“I only have two bedrooms, but if you don’t mind a pull-out sofa I have plenty of room,” she said.

“Thank you Ms. Davis.”

“Please call me Alexis, Michael.”

“Ok Alexis,” he said giving her a shy smile that was all braces. Her tender heart constricted for the sweet awkward boy standing before her. He deserved much better than he had got in his fifteen years.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After everyone was put to bed, and the last light was switched off, Alexis and Sonny lay in bed holding each other close. They exchanged loving kisses and the softest touches.
“I don’t mind you bringing them here, but a little warning would have been nice.”
“Sorry about that. I just wanted to get them, and Kristina as far away from Carly as I could.”
“Oh I understand, and that woman had better hope she never crosses me again. I may not be as controlled as I have been in the past. How dare she call my daughter a brat?”
“She was just being her typical self.”
“Michael is pretty exceptional though, and he seems to genuinely adore Kristina.”
“Of course he does, they’re two peas in a pod,” Sonny told her.
“I guess I’ll get my first taste of Morgan when I wake up in the morning.”
“He’s a good kid. Takes a while to warm up to people though. He’s very wary.”
“Well I’ll just have to win him over with my charming personality,” she said.
“It’ll be a piece of cake baby.”
“Speaking of a piece. I’d like one.”
“Of what?”
Alexis snuggled in close and whispered seductively in his ear.
“That wasn’t very subtle Alexis, but I’m turned on as hell hearing you talk like that,” Sonny said as he flipped her onto her back, and gave her what she asked for long into the night.
