"Daddy
look! Mommy would look so pretty in that," she said running
over to look more closely at the blouse. "I think I'm going
to buy it for her."
"I'll get it Kristina."
"No that's ok Daddy I have a credit card."
"You're eight years old. What are you doing with a credit card?"
"It's called an authorized user Dad. If mom were with us she'd
buy it herself, so what's the difference?"
"Nothing I guess." She picked out Alexis' size and proceeded
to the cashier.
"Can I see some I.D?"
"Yes ma'am." She pulled out an I.D card and showed it
to the lady and smiled. Thirty seconds later Kristina had signed
the charge slip and they left.
They hadn't gone too overboard. Kristina didn't want for much. His
daughter was spoiled in a sense, but she never asked for anything,
and was grateful for all she had. It was foreign to him that a kid
could be so grounded and mature at the age of eight, yet still be
so carefree and young. She was definitely one of a kind, and that
could only be attributed to Alexis' skills as a parent. He was very
impressed with her, and their daughter. But they'd definitely have
to have a chat about Kristina being able to freely use her charge
card.
"So Kristina tell me about these plans your mom has tonight?"
"I don't know what she's doing. She never tells me."
"How often does she make these plans?"
"A couple of times a month I guess. I usually end up staying
the night with Ms. Stanphill and mom picks me up in the morning."
"What would you like to do next?" Sonny asked trying to
take his mind off of what or better yet whom Alexis was doing while
she was out all night.
"Can we go to the zoo?"
"Sure, but I'm not buying you a monkey."
"Well you're no fun," Kristina exaggerated. "How
about the museums then?"
"You got it."
~~~~~~
Alexis
had wanted to use and abuse Cameron that evening. Sonny had got
under her skin, and was driving her crazy. She had been more than
ready to take her sexual frustrations out on Cameron, but hadn't
been able to follow through. She had apologized profusely for his
wasted trip into the city giving him the excuse that Kristina hadn't
been feeling well, and she felt guilty leaving her with only Ms.
Stanphill to take care of her. Being the good man that he was he
kissed her soundly and left without protest.
Alexis stood just beyond their line of vision at the ice rink. She
couldn't believe Kristina had got him out onto the ice. The big
bad mobster wobbled like a newborn foal as he clung to edge, trying
to shuffle one foot in front of the other. Her daughter's fits of
laughter between the words of encouragement as she tried to help
her father skate brought a happy smile to her face. Alexis couldn't
contain her own laughter when he fell to his butt on the ice pulling
Kristina down with him. She leaned over the railing and looked down
at them. "Smooth move Corinthos."
"Mommy!"
"I thought you had plans," he said still flat on his back
as he grinned up at her.
"Plans change," she said offering him her hands to help
him up.
With the girls' help he managed to quickly pull himself up and get
off the ice. "I don't know about you Kristina, but my bottom
hurts."
"Well that what happens you fall on it, again and again and
again."
"Thanks for the support."
"You're welcome," she said as they went to remove their
skates and put on their shoes.
~~~~~~~
Sonny
and Alexis sat beside each other in the limousine. Kristina sat
across them with an amused grin as they headed for her apartment.
"What are you smiling about?" Sonny asked.
"I had a good day today," she said crawling across the
seat to sit between them. She took the gloved hand of each and held
it in her lap.
"I'm glad sweetheart. Are you sleepy?"
"A little bit."
By the time they arrived at home Kristina was out like a light.
Sonny carried into the building and then up to her room once they
were inside.
"I'll take it from here," Alexis whispered as she roused
Kristina enough to help her get out of her clothes and into bed.
She tucked Kristina in and switched off the light.
~~~~~~
"You
wore her out," Alexis told him as she came down the stairs.
"I'd rather wear you out."
"Sonny!"
"I was just kidding. Come here."
"I don't think you were," she said indignantly.
"Where's your sense of humor?"
"Silly me I must have left it upstairs. I'll go get it."
"Please sit Alexis. I'm harmless," he said innocently.
She laughed out loud at his statement. "You harmless? I beg
to differ." She sat down on the opposite end of the couch as
far away as she could get. Alexis crossed her legs, and folded her
arms over her chest.
"You don't have to beg Alexis. I'm more than willing."
"You've lost your mind."
"Why do you deny yourself?" Sonny asked.
"Why do you indulge yourself?"
"I asked you first, and I haven't in a very long time. If I
recall the last time I indulged myself, it was my birthday and there
was a long-legged beautiful attorney in my arms."
"Flattery will get you nowhere."
"You're being difficult."
"What? You don't like a challenge?" Alexis teased.
"I didn't say that, but I guess that you falling willingly
into my arms is out huh?"
"Something like that," she said trying to suppress the
grin tugging at the corners of her mouth.
"Come on Alexis. I promise you won't regret it," Sonny
said with silky smoothness.
"I never said I would."
He shifted on the couch trying to get a little more comfortable,
and moved a few inches closer. She was so close, but yet so far
away. "Ah, ah, ah stay right where you are." Alexis could
have sworn he had just growled at her.
"Why did your plans change tonight?" he asked.
"I was too worried about Kristina being out with you to worry
about the task at hand."
"So you left him high and dry huh?"
"HE was very understanding."
"And in a lot of pain I'll bet," Sonny chuckled.
"Must you be so crude?"
"I just know how he's feeling is all," he said as he stretched
his legs out on the sofa.
"Knock it off Sonny I mean it."
"Have you been working out Alexis?"
"What? Why? I um I've taken up jogging."
"You look fantastic. Does running help with the frustration
from having "plans" only a few times a month?"
She didn't have much of a response for him. Nothing she did helped
ease her want of him. Cameron couldn't snuff out the flame she held
for Sonny, no matter how hard he had tried in the last eight years.
She could never get that night out of her mind, and his suggestion
of what would have happened after breakfast made her whole body
tingle. "Are you offering your services?"
"That's only one small part of what I want to offer you."
"It's small now? That's unfortunate."
"Alexis," Sonny said seriously.
"I'm sorry. Please continue."
"Who is he is Alexis?"
"That's private and absolutely none of your business."
"I just want to know who my competition is."
"Why so you can eliminate him?" she asked flippantly.
"That was low."
"Sorry. Old habits die hard."
"So?"
"So what?"
"My competition," he said, becoming frustrated in more
ways than one, but still loving the game.
"He's not."
"How come?"
There was a long pause that seemed to stretch into eternity. She
let go of a deep breath and trained her shimmering brown eyes upon
him.
"Because he's not you."
"Pardon me?" He couldn't have possibly have heard her
right.
"It's always been you Sonny, even when I didn't want it to
be. You're it for me," Alexis said. She no longer had the energy
or desire to deny her feelings for him. She loved him. She had always
loved him.
"You're it for me too," he whispered. Sonny reached for
her hand and pulled her across the couch and into his lap. Eight
years of pent up lust and emotion flared white-hot between them.
Alexis moaned as his mouth slanted hard across hers and his tongue
invaded her mouth. She'd missed the taste of him. Their kisses slowed
to a leisurely pace as they stretched out on the couch the full
length of his body covering hers, and enjoyed being able to touch
each other again.
Kristina smiled down from the top the stairs and watched her mother
and father kiss and make up. It was icky, but okay as she crept
quietly back to her room.
"Sonny we can't do this here. Kristina could see us."
"She's sleeping," he said raggedly as he kissed the satiny
flesh across the tops of her breasts where her blouse hung open.
Alexis' head was spinning as the moist warmth of his lips blazed
a trail across her chest, and up over the ultra-sensitive spots
of her neck. She was so glad he still remembered her pleasure points.
"My room," she whispered as she continued to tear at his
clothes to get to his skin. Sonny held her body tightly against
his as they managed to stumble to her bedroom their lips still locked
in passionate combat.
They
fell back together on her bed a tangle of limbs wrapping around
the other. He felt like his head was going to explode; he just didn't
know which one. He'd waited eight years for her. No one else could
ever satisfy him emotionally and physically like she did. "Hurry."
Alexis encouraged him as she fumbled with the button and zipper
of his pants. Her skirt rode high on her thighs, as he ripped at
the delicate undergarments that were keeping his flesh from being
one with hers. "Finally!" They both thought as they helped
each other remove the last few barriers between them. He had to
swallow her cries and loud moans over and over as they made love.
She had to do the same. It was too much, the euphoria of being loved
so thoroughly by this man. She could only hear the blood pounding
in her ears as she let go, and rode out the intense tremors he had
coaxed from deep within her. He was in heaven and never wanted to
leave. His entire body thrummed with total satisfaction, as he breathed
in the sweet scent of her hair. They stroked and petted each other
lovingly as their bodies and brains returned to some sense of normalcy.
"God I missed you," Alexis whispered softly in his ear.
"I still can't believe you're here."
"I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere."
"Promise?"
"Promise," he said as he covered their cooling bodies
with the sheet and wrapped his arms around her in the process. "I
love you." Her sleepy eyes drifted open as the words echoed
in her head. She turned to meet his eyes in the dim moonlit room.
Alexis' palm curved to cup the familiar contour of his face. "I
love you too." Truer words had never been spoken.
~~~~~~~
Kristina
walked into her mother's room the next morning without a second
thought. Her mother had always told her she was welcome in there
anytime. She hadn't expected to see some one else sharing her bed
though.
"Mommy?"
"Hmmm," Alexis sighed contentedly as snuggled back into
the warmth of the arms that embraced her. It took her a moment to
form a cognizant thought to where she was, who she was in bed with,
and who was calling her name. "Kristina!" she shrieked
as she quickly sat up clutching the sheet to her chest.
"Good morning Mommy."
"Um good morning," Alexis said as she used one hand to
shake Sonny awake.
"Ready to go again Lex?"
"Sonny!" She hissed in annoyance. "Kristina is here.
Wake up!"
"Huh? Kristina?" He opened his eyes and dragged his hand
across his face as his eyes focused on her. "Hey Peanut."
"Hey Daddy. I'm sorry for interrupting."
"It's ok baby," Sonny told her as she gave her a sleepy
smile.
"It's not ok," Alexis said giving him a dirty look.
"I'm sorry Mommy."
"Oh no Kristina. It's ok you're in my room. I just didn't want
you to see us together like this?"
"Together like what?"
"In .well bed," she said.
"Mommies and daddies are supposed to share beds aren't they?"
Kristina asked in confusion as to what the problem was.
"Yes, but Sonny could you help me out on this one?"
Alexis was mortified down to the tips of her pretty pink toenails.
"You're doing an excellent job Alexis, but I'd love to help
you out. Thank you for asking," he said as his hand settled
possessively on her left cheek beneath the sheet. She was shocked,
but there was nothing she could do to stop it that wouldn't draw
Kristina's attention.
"You know Mommy and Daddy have been apart for a very long time
right."
"Yes, since before I was born."
"Right. We love each other very much, and wanted to show that
to each other."
"Does this have anything to do with where babies come from
because I know all about that," she said.
"Kind of, but not really."
"Were you making babies? I'd really like a little sister since
I already have two brothers even though I haven't met them yet."
"Hold on a second," he said unable to keep from laughing.
"This is so not funny Corinthos," Alexis told him, "and
get your hand off my a...pple."
"It's your fault. You raised her to be this way." He gave
her rear an affectionate squeeze and she shot him a look of pure
hatred.
"What way?"
"Too dang smart for her own good."
"Kristina sweetheart would you please wait outside for us,
and we'll be out in a minute."
"Ok. Daddy will you make breakfast again?"
"Sure thing Peanut," he said with a smile as Kristina
left the room shutting the door behind her.
"You're unbelievable!" Alexis railed as she threw off
the sheet.
"Whoa where are you going?" Sonny asked grabbing her hips
and pulling her back down.
"Let go of me Sonny."
"Not until you say good morning properly."
"Good Morn ." Her words were muffled by the quick
surge of his tongue between her lips. She resisted for a fraction
of a second before melting beneath him and returning his kiss with
equal enthusiasm.
Kristina sat on the couch tapping the foot of her inherited long
legs on the hardwood floor as she waited, and waited, and waited
for her parents.
"OK!" Sonny said cheerily with a spring in his step as
he emerged from the bedroom, "What can I make you for breakfast."
"Dad I thought a minute lasted sixty seconds, not oh let's
see fifteen hundred seconds?" she said quickly doing the
math in her head.
"Boy you really are good at math."
"Yep she's whiz," Alexis chimed in.
"You think that was good just wait until I start counting the
weeks, days and months until my baby sister's born," Kristina
told them as she headed for the kitchen.
"Stop looking at me like that!"
"Like what?" Sonny asked innocently.
"Like I'm the Nile Valley and you've got your trusty water
hose ready to irrigate," she snapped.
"Come on I'm starving!" Kristina called out from the kitchen.
"Me too baby. Me too," he said as he watched the inviting
sway of Alexis' hips as she walked briskly into the kitchen.
