Alexis asks Jax to take Skye inside. Alexis tells Lucky she'll have to cast suspicion on Laura to get Skye off. Alexis admits that Skye is flawed but says she's no killer -- the real murderer is Laura. Ric takes his turn and says that Skye is indeed a killer. Alexis tells Ric that Skye's innocent. The jury returns with a verdict. Skye asks if this is a bad sign. Alexis doesn't answer. Skye is led away in handcuffs after Alexis reassures her that the verdict won't stand.

June 30, 2004
Ric tells Skye that she should show some remorse. She asks him how he sleeps at night. Alexis shows up and tells Skye that she's already started the appeal process. Skye tells her she wants her to call her family so she can say goodbye.

July 1, 2004
In court, Ric asks for a sentence of no less than twenty years. Various people speak on Skye's behalf: Ned; Alan; Emily; Jax. They take a break. Alexis tells Skye this is her chance to throw herself on the mercy of the court after the break -- it'll be her turn to talk. Skye says she has no intention of apologizing for something she never did. Heather shows up and watches. In court, Skye maintains she's innocent. The judge sentences her to twenty years. Lois asks Sonny if he secretly wishes he had a daughter to spoil. He says he loves his boys and that Carly is an amazing mother; the best possible. Alexis and Ric emerge from a hallway. She tells him that the reason he stuck it to Skye was to get at Sonny by using her, and by extension, her client. She then says that the only thing worse than sleeping with Ric's brother would be the disgust she would feel after sleeping with him. Alexis turns to Sonny, "Holy Toledo, you slept with Alexis?" Both Alexis and Sonny are horrified beyond belief to hear their private business spread around the courtroom via Lois. Lois says she's surprised to hear Alexis slept with Sonny. Alexis says it was a momentary lapse in judgment which, apparently, will continue to haunt her until her dying day because embarrassing incidents like this just keep creeping up. Sonny seems amused by her mortification. She tells Ric to petition the judge to set aside the verdict, then leaves. Ric shakes Lois' hand, then leaves. Lois is still surprised by Sonny's admission. Alexis and Ric wind up in an elevator together. She tells him she thinks he's despicable. He chalks it up to her attraction to him. The elevator bell begins sounding when Alexis tries to get it moving again.

July 2, 2004
Alexis accuses Ric of having OCD. She uses his briefcase to try to get out of the elevator. When the lab report on Kristina is visible, Ric kisses her to distract her. Alexis and Ric deny they were having sex during the custody trial. The reporters don't seem to believe them. Alexis and Kristina meet up with Ric at the hospital. Ric gives Alexis some papers. She looks at them. Kristina wanders off. Kristina sees Sonny. He helps her up on a chair where they watch the babies in the neo-natal unit. He asks which one she thinks is the best. Alexis comes tearing around the corner and spots Sonny with Kristina. She's rendered speechless. Ric shows up in hot pursuit and can't help but watch Alexis, watching Sonny with his daughter.

July 5, 2004
Alexis comes upon Sonny and Kristina watching the babies. She asks Sonny to please step away from her daughter. Hurt, Sonny tells her that he's not going to harm Kristina. Alexis says she knows that and she just overreacted. She takes their daughter away and Ric runs interference, saying he has to speak with Sonny. Alexis meets "Connor" on the docks after he calls her. He tells her before she says anything that he knows about Emily. Alexis asks Nikolas who gave him this information. He says Lorenzo Alcazar. Immediately Alexis tells him that Lorenzo can't be trusted. She also asks if he doesn't strike him as bizarre that someone like him would enlist the services of someone like Connor.

July 8, 2004
Alexis shows up at Wyndemere because Nikolas called her. He says he knows she's his aunt because of what he's been told, not because he remembers her at all. He's very angry and tells her he's not interested in a big emotional family reunion. He remarks that she's supposed to be his lawyer, so how much is he worth? Alexis says she wanted to tell him the truth, but Emily convinced him otherwise. He doesn't buy her argument that she has his best interests at heart. Alexis tells him that Helena is contesting his will, and the money that he's left to Kristina and LuLu. Nikolas says that at least Helena hasn't lied to him. Lorenzo enters and says he'll explain himself whenever Nik wants to hear it. Nikolas dismisses Alexis. She tells him Lorenzo is a dangerous man and then exits. Nikolas says that Lorenzo is the first person to own up to their lies to him. Alexis and Ric run into each other on the docks. He begins to banter, she cuts him off and says he needs to find some way to put Lorenzo Alcazar in custody. Ric asks why Alexis can't just be happy Nikolas is alive and leave it alone? Alexis says Lorenzo has an agenda. Ric tells her Lorenzo hasn't done anything wrong, so he can't arrest him. Alexis remarks that hasn't stopped him in the past. Blah, blah, blah, insults, insults, insults. She tells him to trump up a charge if that's what it takes.

July 14, 2004
Alexis sees Nikolas at Kelly's. He tells her she can call him by his name. He tells her that Emily got some bad news and it occurred to him that she'd probably want to know. Alexis tells Nikolas about bolting from the church, and how Lila forgave her anyways.

July 15, 2004
Alexis can't figure out why Ric seems overly concerned about the fact that she's not rushing over to the Qs with Kristina in tow. He asks why she's keeping her away from her family. She leaves, puzzled. Alexis tells Ric that she thought about what he said and that she's taking a couple of days off to attend the memorial, but that she doesn't want him to get smug about the fact that he was right.

July 21, 2004
Alexis shows up to find Nikolas having a conversation with Lorenzo. She tells Nikolas that Lorenzo had him beaten up and he nearly died because of it. Lorenzo admits that's true. He leaves. Alexis tells Nikolas about his life and Nikolas realizes he and Emily are more alike than he thought. Carly runs into Ric in the park. He tries to get information out of her but it doesn't work. Alexis shows up to hear him threaten her. Ric then calls for someone to double surveillance on Sonny because he'll be able to arrest him for aiding & abetting. He spins around and sees Alexis watching him at this point. Alexis asks Ric if he's doing his job or carrying out a vendetta. Ric wonders why she cares. He insults her and starts to leave but she tells him to wait a minute. In the park, Ric says he doesn't think a child should grow up in Sonny's world. Alexis tells him that while that's a compelling argument, it's not the real reason he's after Sam. He asks her if she'd like to have dinner with him in New York or Montreal because he thinks they'd be different together if they were away from this place.

July 22, 2004
Alexis, glass in hand, answers the door to Carly who walks right in and announces she's going to tell Sonny that he's Kristina's father. Alexis tells Carly she has her mother; her sons; her husband -- all she has is Kristina. Carly tells her that she doesn't want any secrets between her and Sonny. Alexis says that if she tells the truth she'll set in motion something that has no solution and it'll ruin everybody's lives. Alexis begs Carly not to tell the truth. Kristina and Alexis are sharing a cookie when Sonny shows up and tells her he needs to speak to her about the mother of his child.

July 23, 2004
Alexis gives Kristina to Viola. Sonny tells her they used to be friends and somewhere along the line they became enemies and he's not sure when. He tells her that she's a lawyer and he wants to hire her to defend Sam. She tells him no. Alexis doesn't understand why Sonny is doing this. He says that if Sam had kept the truth from him, he MIGHT be willing to let her rot in prison, but that's not the case and he wants to get her out. Alexis tells him she's not familiar with the case. Sonny tells her that all she needs to know is she'd be fighting Ric on this one. Pushing all her buttons, including her competitive one, Sonny asks if she thinks she's good enough to win against Ric. Alexis shows up at the PCPD, Sonny by her side, asking to see her client. Ric says she and Sam have a lot in common. Ric is surprised that Alexis wants to defend Sam. Alone with Ric, Alexis says she'll win. Ric tells Alexis that he will win. She says she will win. He asks what she has in common with Sam. Alexis visits Sam. Sam, showing a remarkable ability to cut to the chase thus far not seen, tells Alexis that she can see that she's helping her so that Sonny will owe her. Sam asks why.

July 26, 2004
Ric tells Alexis that Sam's extradition hearing will be tonight. She tries to fight him but he's immovable. Alexis calls and tells Sonny about the impending hearing. He tells Carly and she asks what he is going to do. The judge, Ric, Alexis and Sam cram into Ric's office for her impromptu extradition hearing. Alexis tells the judge she hasn't had time to review the case and that she'd prefer to do that with Sam still in town. Ric says that Alexis is performing an exercise in futility since the only reason they're even doing this is in an effort for Alexis to spend time with him. Alexis and Ric fight in front of the judge who isn't too impressed. He says the next time they feel the need to argue like this they should rent a motel room. He then says Sam has to go.
Alexis and Sam beg the judge to reconsider but he refuses. Sam wants Alexis to call Sonny. She tells him that this is a pattern with him: breaking up with Carly; finding solace with someone else and reuniting with her. Sam doesn't care. Alexis says she can't in good conscience call Sonny because she'd be setting her up to lose permanent custody of her daughter if she did. Alexis tells Sam that Sonny and Carly will be happy to raise her baby. Sam says that she wants things that way. She says that Sonny's a good person and a good man and she never betrayed him but clearly Alexis is sorry that she did. Alexis leaves. She runs into Ric and tells him that his niece will now be born in prison. She tells him to cheer up; he won; he can choke on it. She storms off.

July 27, 2004
At the PCPD Ric and Alexis look on as Sam collapses in pain. Alexis tells Sam to squeeze her hand as hard as she wants, and they wheel her away; Alexis goes with her. Having suddenly grown a conscience, Ric tells the deputy he can't take Sam until they know the kid's OK. Sam asks about the baby. Ric insists Dr. Meadows takes her time looking at the results. Alexis asks Ric if he suddenly has selective humanity and that's why he's being so nice. Sonny tells Alexis she was supposed to get Sam out of this and says he doesn't want to be hard on her but if she can't do this, she should say so. She tells him that she can. He and Carly go see Sam who admits she's faking. At the hospital, Sonny tells Sam that Alexis might be a little off, but she's a brilliant attorney. He's seen her work for years. She's good, and she's only a diversion anyway -- he'll get Sam off. The deputy shows up to find proof that Sam is really in pain. Carly chases him out and in a completely over-the-top scene screams at him that he's there to try to make Sam lose the baby in an effort to make her look less sympathetic in the jury's eyes. He turns and leaves as Ric and Alexis watch Carly. Sonny finds Alexis. Ric looks on. Sonny asks if Alexis is sabotaging the case out of revenge. Alexis tells him that's not the case and that in fact, she has more sympathy for Sam now than she did before. Alexis begs Carly not to tell Sonny the truth about Kristina for about the five billionth time.

July 28, 2004
Carly wants to know what Ric's agenda is. Alexis shows up to eavesdrop -- apparently she's curious about his motives too. Carly tells Ric that he'll never change and that his motives are transparent. She exits. Alexis tells Ric she understands what it's like to be desperate. He asks if she thinks he would have eventually killed Carly. She says she's not sure and she hopes not.

July 29, 2004
Alexis asks Sam if Sonny expects her to give up her child once it's born simply because he's trying to get her out of jail. She then tells Sam what life with Sonny is like. She continues to defend him. Alexis and Ric approach the elevator at the hospital simultaneously but both pull back. She wants him to keep his voice down when discussing their kiss. He suggests this is because she doesn't want Sonny to find out she's attracted to his brother. Alexis tells Ric he's repulsive. She leaves. Ric is threatening Sonny when Alexis shows up and tells them both that she just got a call that someone confessed to the murder. She says she's going to tell Sam. Ric congratulates Sonny and says things couldn't have worked out more perfectly for him.

July 30, 2004
Sonny finds Kristina at Kelly's. He picks her up and talks to her. Alexis shows up and sends Kristina home with Viola. Sonny, hurt, tells Alexis he's not going to steal her. Sonny tells Alexis he's not going to steal her nanny. She then tells him that she feels she deserves the truth about the confession. Sonny lies to her face and says he had nothing to do with it. Alexis shows up at court and Ric tells her the confession is fake. Alexis says it's real because Sonny told her it was. Alexis tells Ric she knows when Sonny's lying and he's telling her the truth right now. Ric can't believe how naive she is. Ric tells Alexis that Sonny's going down and this is her last chance to
resign from Sam's case or else she's going down with him.

August 2, 2004
Alexis reassures Ric that she believes the confession is real. He says she's going down. Ric calls Sonny to the stand. He asks if he has a vested interest in the outcome of the trial. Sonny admits that he does. Ric asks if the name David Barren means anything to him. Sonny says no. Ric asks Sonny if he paid off David Barren. Finally, Alexis objects and says this line of questioning has no relevancy. Sonny admits nothing. Ric says he has no further questions. Sonny smiles. Sam looks on. Alexis questions Sonny on the stand. She asks why his brother hates him so much. Ric looks stricken. Sonny says that Ric hates him because of childhood issues; their
mother didn't give him up for adoption when she got knocked up with Ric. Alexis proves her point and succinctly walks down to Ric. The verdict is vacated. Sam thanks Alexis. Sonny tells Carly that technically he didn't know anything about the David Barren payoff. He says that Alexis
wanted to believe him, for whatever reason, and she just heard what she wanted to hear. He and Carly leaves. Alexis emerges, having eavesdropped on the conversation. She seems somewhat displeased. Alexis tells Ric that Sonny lied; he perjured himself and he manipulated the system. She wants to take him down.

August 3, 2004
Alexis, seemingly having forgotten about Sonny's claustrophobia, tells Ric she's angry enough to help him send Sonny to prison forever. Ric enters his office and tells Alexis that he sent Lucky to follow Sam. Ric then tells her that he's got Lucky coming in. Lucky shows up to tell Ric his findings right in front of Alexis, for seemingly no reason at all. Alexis calls someone to ask if Sonny, Jason or anyone else from "The Organization" has stopped by to visit David Barren in jail. Sonny shows up Ric's office and looks at Alexis approvingly while she looks at him witheringly.

August 4, 2004
Sonny asks Alexis why she's in Ric's office. Alexis covers. Sonny wants to know how Alexis knew all that stuff about Ric and his childhood and deduces it came from Ric. Ric shows up and wonders why they are in his office. Alexis tells Ric she was waiting for him. They banter in an effort to throw Sonny off track. Sonny tells Ric to stay away from his children and their mothers. He leaves. Alexis coolly tells Ric she's still interested in sending Sonny to prison. Alexis and Ric discuss Danny. Ric can't wait to get him on the stand. He then tells Alexis in order to get Sonny he'll have to put her on the stand since she heard Sonny admit to perjury. Alexis forcefully tells Ric she has no intention of testifying against Sonny. Her words grow louder; more frenzied; and suddenly she's almost overcome by a full-blown panic attack. Ric kindly suggests she breathe, then hands her a glass of water and asks why she's so scared. Alexis tells Ric that because of the fact she has a daughter she wants to see grow up in a stable and loving home she doesn't openly antagonize Sonny. Ric accepts her decision. She is surprised. Ric says if Sonny reached out just once he'd be glad. Alexis says she knows what it's like to want to beat someone up as much as you want to make them care about you. She realizes she can't have either one from Sonny or Ric. She exits.

August 6, 2004
Alexis, in a camel-colored blazer, shows up at the PCPD and dismisses Jason and says that she will handle things. Jason tells Sam not to fall into this trap and leaves. Ric announces he's going to call Danny in for questioning. Sam asks Alexis if he can do that. Alexis says he has the right to call anyone he wants. Sam tells Ric that there's no need to involve her brother; she'll tell him all he needs to know about the night she killed her mother. Alexis seems surprised Sam has a brother, though, with the amount of heretofore-unknown siblings popping up in this town, I'm not sure why it should surprise anyone. Sam asks Alexis, now that the case is closed, if anyone else can be charged. Alexis asks her who else she's worried about being charged. Carly informs Alexis that it appears she and Ric are extra-cozy together and if she's harboring any notions of sending Sonny or Jason to jail, the world will know that Sonny's Kristina's father before that happens.

August 9, 2004
Carly threatens Alexis who tells her that once Sonny's in prison he'll have a tough time getting custody of any kid. Carly asks Alexis if she wants the world to know that Sonny's Kristina's father -- after all, isn't he a dangerous criminal? She tells her to think long and hard about her decision.
Ric tells Alexis he's letting David Barren's confession stand which also negates the perjury charges against Sonny. Alexis tells Ric that perhaps the explosion was a coincidence. The door is open and Sonny overhears Alexis telling Ric that he needs to stop letting his issues with Sonny influence his work. Sonny hears this and hears Ric accuse her of the same thing. Then, he tells Alexis he needs a favor. Alexis asks Sonny what gives him the right to think he can ask a favor of her, given the fact that he blatantly lied to her face, again. She tells him if he breaks one law too many and Ric catches him, all the better. Ric wants him to admit he gave the order to have the yacht blown up. Suddenly Faith, wet, is dragged in with Lucky.

August 10, 2004
Sonny tells Alexis she might want to reconsider. He walks away; she won't look at him. Alexis observes Ric telling Lorenzo next time he'll take care of his brother on his own. Once alone with Ric, Alexis accuses him of being in on this with Alcazar. A hurt Alexis asks Ric how many people will be sacrificed in his campaign to get at his brother. Alexis tells Ric that while she may not approve of his methods, she admires the fact that he's the only one with the guts to go up against Sonny. She turns to leave and the strap on her briefcase snaps and all her stuff hits the floor. Alexis and Ric in each other's space fall into a kiss.

Alexis has a diatribe against Ric and all men who say they'll call but never do, in general. Ric tells Alexis that she's more fun when she's drunk and tells her that if she wants them to go out again he'd be willing.

August 13, 2004
Alexis, in a satin striped tie and light-colored three-piece suit shows up with Emily to see Nikolas. Helena tells her to be careful because Nikolas has been through a very difficult time. Alexis tells Helena not to try to stop her; Helena says she wouldn't try. Helena and Alexis banter.

August 16, 2004
Alexis tells Justus (in front of Ric) that Sonny can be seductive but it's Ric's job to put him away. Sonny shows up and announces that Faith's been knifed in her cell so there will be no need for a trial. Justus says he's going to go make sure she's OK, leaving Ric, Sonny and Alexis in a room together. Alexis tells Sonny that Faith's a human being and asks if he has any ability to comprehend that at all. Sonny says when someone targets him and his family, no. She calls him a monster and then leaves. Sonny congratulates Ric for getting Alexis to spout the same philosophy as him. Ric says Alexis has a mind of her own. Carly shows up at Kelly's and congratulates Kristina on her fashion sense. Alexis shows up and sends Viola and Kristina inside. She tells Carly to never approach her daughter again. Carly tells Alexis that she's kept her secret, but all Alexis has done is antagonize Sonny. Carly asks whatever happened to her undying gratitude. Right on cue, Sonny shows up and asks Carly what there is to be grateful for. Carly watches Kristina and Sonny together for the first time. Sonny tells her she gets cuter everyday. Kristina repeats "everyday". Alexis takes Kristina and they leave. Carly says that she feels sorry for that kid because she'll wind up as neurotic as Alexis. Sonny tells her that Kristina's a sweet kid. Carly grits her teeth. Alexis returns to the PCPD to talk to Ric about Faith. Ric thinks Sonny will make a mistake and he just needs an opening. Alexis tells him that she represented Sonny for two years; maybe she could help. Alexis tells him that Sonny is a threat to someone that she loves and she is convinced this person can only be safe when Sonny is behind bars. (She's apparently forgotten about the fact that Carly said that IF Sonny went to jail, she'd blab to the world that Kristina was his kid, thus putting Kristina in an even more tenuous situation than she's already in at the moment with Sonny not knowing. But maybe that's just me.) The doctor tells Alexis that while Kristina's healthy he'd like to see her gain a couple of pounds. He leaves. Alexis looks at her baby girl and tells her how much she loves her. Kristina gives her a hug while Alexis fights tears.

August 17, 2004
Ric and Alexis have supper at Kelly's with Kristina. Ric feeds her a French fry and can't believe Alexis only feeds her healthy food. Ric tells Alexis that Michael is turning into a mini-Sonny, and that the kid is really scary when he's angry. Alexis asks Ric what she thinks will happen to Sonny's children if Sonny goes to prison. Alexis wipes Kristina's face. Ric talks about how wonderful of a kid Kristina is. Alexis smiles at Kristina. Ric says while he doesn't always agree with her choices, he can't fault her on them. She says she wants to be a good single mom and that she doesn't think Carly will fare as well as a single mom if Sonny goes to jail. Ric says any kid would be better off without Sonny. He asks if he can get Kristina some ice cream. Alexis says no because she has to go to Gymnastics class. She then invites him to come along, and he agrees.

August 19, 2004
Alexis tells Justus that because of her complicated history with Sonny she was never in physical danger from him, but that he doesn't have that luxury. Alexis suggests Justus cares about Faith. Alexis leaves. Faith says that she trusts Justus and if he thinks he can win the case she'll turn herself in, but if he doesn't think he can get her acquitted, he should be honest about it. Ric and Alexis meet at Kelly's where he says she's attracted to him and she denies it. Alexis tells Ric that she never slept with Jax and that's why they're still friends -- because there was no romance to muddy the waters. He's curious why she's telling him this. Alexis asks Jax if he's interested in Courtney for herself or because it's another way to get under Sonny's skin. Jax says it's because of her. Sam walks in and feels awkward. Courtney isn't very happy with Lois for opening her big mouth and telling Mike that she and Jax might be in bed together. She bangs on a cup and commands the attention of everyone in the room. Lois, Sam, Alexis, Ric, and the girl who was in Kelly's in the third act, but left, and came back again, all listen up. Courtney announces that while she and Jax haven't had sex yet, there's an excellent chance they're gonna, and at that point she'll be sure to keep them all informed. Unfortunately Jason picks this precise moment to walk into Kelly's and overhear his ex-wife telling everyone about her future bedroom plans.

August 31, 2004
Ric tells Nik and Emily that he called Alexis. She shows up wearing a light blue satin v-neck blouse and green/gray blazer. Alexis says that Nikolas was acting defensively. Ric points out he fired upon her as she was walking away. Nikolas tells Alexis that he has no objections to telling Ric what happened. Through the use of flashbacks Nikolas tells Ric about the struggle with Faith and her subsequent exit; realizing someone else was in the house; Emily fighting with Mary; and finally the shooting. Alexis tells Nik that him being declared mentally incompetent is a good thing because he can plead diminished capacity. Alexis watches Lorenzo threatening Ric. Nikolas says he can't say as he blames Alcazar. Alexis says Alcazar might see him as the catalyst for all of this because it did start with him. Alexis tells Nikolas that Alcazar blames the Cassadines for the death of Luis and now he can blame them for the death of Luis's daughter too. Lorenzo storms into the interrogation room and tells Alexis to get out because he wants to talk to Nikolas. Alexis tells Ric that she's worried that he'll be on the top of Lorenzo's hit list.

September 1, 2004
Alexis enters and tells Lorenzo she needs to speak to her client. Lorenzo runs into Ric and Ric says he'll take care of it but Lorenzo takes off with a gun. Alexis and Ric argue. Alexis thanks Ric for being ethical.

September 8, 2004
Justus asks Alexis to represent Faith and tries buttering her up. She wonders why he cares so much about Faith. Alexis tells Ric that she's taken Faith's case. Ric tells her that it's clearly yet another attempt by her to be close to him.

September 9, 2004
Jason explains to Justus how Emily's case looks. They argue. Jason suggests Justus takes the case out of thanks (since he didn't kill him.) Alexis enters and suggests this conversation stop. Justus leaves. Ric enters and tells Jason he wants to talk about Emily. Ric says to Jason, again, that Emily needs to cooperate, Alexis walks up behind him and agrees. Jason says that Emily has nothing to say, and he leaves. Justus leaves too. Alexis tells Ric that Jason hates him. They bicker (I couldn't type that fast to keep up.) Ric says it all comes back to Alexis seeing him as a narcissist, doesn't it? She says that's not quite how she sees him.

September 13, 2004
Alexis walks into the PCPD with to see Ric. They talk about something that happened with Kristina? But she's okay now. Alexis is worried and Ric picks up on it. Alexis and Ric discuss Kristina's fever, and how Alexis is still worried. Helena enters and asks why Nikolas is still free. She wants him recommitted. Alexis tells her it won't happen, Nik is fine. Helena says he's disturbed, and if he doesn't get committed he could go to jail for manslaughter. Alexis defends Nikolas to Helena. Helena says she'll have him committed again and they can't stop it. Ric tells Helena that Nikolas if free, and she can't do anything about it. Alexis looks pleased. Alexis tells Hells that even if he went to prison, it's better than ever being controlled by Helena. Helena leaves. Ric says that Alexis just handed him Nik's head on a silver platter. Ric & Alexis argue whether Nikolas will get acquitted. Ric says there's no way she can get him fully acquitted. Ric says Mac's testimony will be the end of Nik, if he doesn't take a plea bargain. Alexis reiterates that Nik is innocent and he'll go free. That is, if Ric cooperates. Alexis says she's not asking Ric to throw the case, just to have compassion. Ric says it's against the law for someone to shoot another person, that's what matters. Ric says he can't do what Alexis is asking.

Alexis tells Ric that Lorenzo's the one who murdered Mary, whether directly or indirectly. Ric tells her that it's a plausible argument but it's a little too convenient. Lois shows up to pay her fine at the PCPD. She sees Lorenzo heading into the interrogation room. Lorenzo wonders why Alexis is there. Lois heads inside and wants to know what's going on Lois valiantly defends Lorenzo by insulting Alexis. Lorenzo then tells them he's not answering any questions because Lois just made his statement for him.
