Alexis tells Sonny that she can't help but worry that Carly really is dead. She finds the birthday card from Michael and they wonder how it got there. They piece together the fact that Carly saw them in bed together.

Alexis tells Ned she feels responsible for Carly's accident. Ned tells her it's not her fault but she insists on blaming herself.

Alexis visits Zander who she finds in the middle of tearing up his room. He tells her that it is all her fault. She recoils. She heads to Jax and breaks down in his arms. She wants his reassurance that he did like Carly. Sonny calls for her to meet him at the crash site.

May 9, 2002
Alexis meets Sonny at the crash site and he tells her they found one of Carly's shoes, and that this is a sign to give up the search. He doesn't know why he let this happen. Alexis and Sonny both blame themselves for Carly's death. Sonny places his coat around her shoulders and says that he's taking her home. He opens her door silently and she goes inside. Montage: "Masculine Eclipse" by Beautiful South.

Wardrobe: black pants; red blazer; red lipstick. At the Quartermaines Alexis gives AJ a restraining order prohibiting him from trying to regain custody of Michael in Carly's absence. AJ says that Michael needs him. Alexis scoffs. Alexis tells AJ he should be in jail. Alexis heads to the gatehouse and accidentally walks in on Kristina and Ned after it's clear they've just made love. She says "oy!" and tries to leave. "I'll get you some coffee," is directed at her by one of the fleeing guilty parties. She says that she has to go; she's late.

The body in the morgue is falsely identified as being that of Carly. Kristina tells her that this means it wasn't Carly. Alexis says she needs to sit for five minutes and figure out how this affects her. She says that she's just so sorry. Kristina accuses her of backing away from Sonny. She says she'll call if she needs her.

May 15, 2002
Montage: "Twilight" by Vanessa Carlton. Residents of Port Charles learn of Carly's death. WARDROBE: light jeans; dark belt; long-sleeved black shirt w/ split sleeves. Kristina wants to know why Alexis isn't going to the funeral. Zander shows up and asks why she sent the suit. Alexis tells him Carly wouldn't want him to blame himself. Alexis takes a moment for reflection.

WARDROBE: black dress. Montage: "Say Goodnight" by Beth Nielsen Chapman. Carly's funeral finds eulogies being said by Jax, Zander, Luke and Bobbie. Suddenly Carly shows up to crash her own funeral.

The church is shocked that Carly shows up at her own funeral. Alexis tells Ned and Kristina that she's fine and she just needs to catch her breath. They wind up at Kelly's where Alexis finds Michael and tells him that his mother may be coming home right away. Kristina is surprised to learn Alexis doesn't want Sonny anymore. Alexis eats a pickle.

WARDROBE: gold satin pajamas. Alexis gets the paper. WARDROBE: dusty blue 3-piece suit. Alexis wonders what she's worried about. She realizes what her choices are. She opens the door to find Sonny.

They ask each other if they want to forget what happened. Sonny tells Alexis that Carly has no memory of things before the accident. Alexis asks, "how were we"? She tells him that she'll tell him exactly how she feels. She tells him she likes words and they should talk about Carly; they should deal with Carly.

Sonny asks if she wants the truth or not. She says she wants "the truth, always the truth". She asks if he's still in love with his ex-wife. He says he needs to gain some perspective now that Carly's back. She tells him she's left-brained and she doesn't even think she has a right brain. She says she is feeling embarrassed. She tells him to go home and be with his wife -- she's fine. Alexis is left alone in her apartment.

Alexis tells Zander that she and Sonny have no intention of becoming a couple. She tells Zander he's oversimplifying the situation. Alexis steps off the elevator and feels dizzy.

Alexis steps off the elevator and feels dizzy. Kristina shows up and tells her she looks like hell and that something is physically wrong with her. She says her body is trying to tell her something. When she's alone Alexis finds the calendar and begins to count the days. She says "God this can't be happening," upon realizing she's pregnant.

WARDROBE: beige suit with tiny lines; w/ pants; white camisole. At Kelly's, she orders peppermint tea and toast and almost throws up when the wrong food is brought to her. Sonny tells her he's taking her to his doctor. She says that they're friends above all -- no promises, no regrets. She tells him happy belated birthday. Felicia tells her that motherhood is overrated. She heads to the drugstore to get a pregnancy test.

May 29, 2002
Alexis runs into Bobbie at the drugstore. She hides the pregnancy test. She says that it appears things will work out for Sonny and Carly after all. Bobbie leaves and Scott shows up. He asks how she's going to keep the secret. She worries. He means her secret addiction to candy bars. She's relieved.

May 30, 2002
Alexis returns home with the pregnancy test and drops the bag it's in. Sonny tries to pick it up. Sonny tells her it's good to see her. Alexis says she's going to bed early. She reads the instructions for the kit. Sonny knocks on the door after she learns she's pregnant. She says he's making her jumpy.

May 31, 2002
She tells Sonny she's OK. He leaves. Jax shows up. He asks what happened between her and Sonny. She tells him she became more than his attorney and that she and Sonny have a line-blurring relationship. Jax leaves and Carly calls up. She wants Alexis to move out.

June 3, 2002
WARDROBE: maroon spaghetti-strapped sparkly dress. Outside Kelly's, Carly tells Alexis she has nothing that Sonny would ever want. Alexis says she wouldn't bet on that. She tries to get away from Carly and falls down. She publicly tells everyone she's OK but privately tells Ned and Kristina to get her to a doctor. At the doctor's office she tells him that she's just found out she's pregnant. The doctor says the baby's OK. She says she'd like to keep this to herself. Once back at the penthouse Kristina and Ned give her a glass of wine to calm her down. She dumps it in a plant. They leave. She tells the baby that they can do this -- and they can do it on their own.

June 5, 2002
WARDROBE: light jeans; lavender v-neck sweater. Alexis has her first pre-natal appointment with Dr. Meadows. The doctor says that she's trying to determine what she wants to do. Alexis tells her that the baby's father doesn't know and she's decided not to tell him because it's her child. Back at her apartment Alexis wonders if being a mobster is genetic. Sonny tells her that she's not fine and says he can help her.

Sonny tells her she really doesn't look well. Sonny asks if Alexis can come in. He tells her that Courtney's family and nothing is more important to him than family. He gives her a cheque to give Courtney. She says that Courtney may not accept it. He says she needs a family.

June 7, 2002
Sonny implores her to tell him what's wrong. She tells him he's the most self-obsessed person she's ever met. She tells him she doesn't need anybody to help her to the car. Ned tells Alexis about Sonny's evils. Alexis tells the baby that she has a right to know who her father is.

June 10, 2002
Alexis shows up to speak to Sonny but Carly drapes herself over Sonny's arm and Alexis can't tell him the truth. Carly calls Alexis and tells her that she needs to move out. Alexis tells the baby that her father's current lover is a harpy. She then says that she always knew who he was, and she spent the night with him anyway.

Carly wants Alexis to move out. Alexis calls her a termagant.
