Ned, Carly and Alexis wait in the hospital lounge as Taggert and Mac show up to question Alexis. Alexis recalls what happened through flashbacks, and explains it to the police. Carly realizes that Sonny may not have been the target -- there was no logical reason it had to be him who got hurt. Alexis tells Carly that Sonny wanted her to tell Carly how much Sonny loves her. Carly can't quite believe it. She cries and says that it's typical he never said it himself but he tells his attorney. Monica shows up with an update on Sonny's condition. Ned wants Alexis to leave, but Alexis doesn't want to leave Carly there by herself in case Sonny dies. Ned promises they'll come back if something happens. She tells him that she loves him.

December 29, 2000
WARDROBE: black nightgown & robe w/ flowers. Ned tells Alexis he likes the way they fell asleep. She thanks him for not being mad at her anymore. Emily calls Alexis for advice. Alexis says she'll make arrangements for Zander, who wonders where he'll go. Alexis invites Zander to stay with her.

January 3, 2001
WARDROBE: light khaki suit; skirt w/ 2 pockets on side. Ned tells Alexis that Zander can't stay there because it's too dangerous. Alexis and Ned argue as Zander and Emily eavesdrop. Emily takes Zander upstairs, then says she's going to meet her parents. Alone at last, Alexis and Ned are relaxing when Zander shows up. Ned berates him, so he takes off. Both Zander and Emily return. Alexis agrees Emily can spend the night.

January 5, 2001
WARDROBE: striped black coat; tweed suit w/ black buttons. Ned meets up with Alexis and Emily at Kelly's. He's not too pleased that she woke up and left without him. She tells him Zander needed food. They argue some more. Chloe shows up and asks Alexis what the depths of Stefan's deception might be. She tells Chloe about Stefan as a child. Alexis heads to GH to see Sonny but is told that he's with Carly. Alexis remains outside his room while they kiss.

January 10, 2001
WARDROBE: long light gray blazer dress, pants. Alexis asks Ned where Emily is. He informs her that Alan and Monica sent her to boarding school. Both Alexis and Zander are extremely upset to hear that Emily was forced to leave town. Alexis apologizes and tells Ned she wants him, too.

January 11, 2001
WARDROBE: khaki suede coat; black pants; black shirt; sunshine necklace. Alexis visits Sonny in the hospital and tells him he's the last person she ever thought she'd care about and she does -- actually a lot. She says she's not sure how to do this. Carly interrupts. Alexis remarks that he looks very strong for someone with holes in their chest. She leaves and runs into Stefan. She asks if Chloe hadn't been useful to him, would have let her go blind? Alexis visits Chloe who assures her that now that she's got her whole life in front of her, it's an entirely new life than she imagined for herself.

January 12, 2001
WARDROBE: black wraparound dress. At Kelly's for breakfast, Alexis tells Zander his testimony went well. Ned shows up and they all try not to argue. Unfortunately the Quartermaines show up and start tossing blame around. Zander says all he wants is for Emily to be safe.

January 15, 2001
WARDROBE: chrome suit; chrome satin blouse. Roy shows up to see Alexis and says it's better for everyone if he stays off the stand. He leaves. Stefan shows up and tells Alexis he wants to ensure she won't tell Nikolas that Stefan faked his own death and framed Luke. Ned shows up before they can talk more, hurling accusations about what Stefan did to Chloe. Stefan leaves. They start making out but Zander shows up to interrupt. Zander steals money from Alexis' purse and leaves. Helena shows up.

January 16, 2001
Helena tells Alexis that she hopes that she will clue into the fact that Stefan is evil and thereby bad for Nikolas. Alexis tells her she'll take it under advisement. Alexis finds Zander's note and realizes he's gone. Ned wants to call Alan and Monica and warn them that Zander has left town, but Alexis tells him this falls under attorney/client privilege and he can't do that. Alexis shows up at the hospital and tells Sonny that Zander ran.

January 17, 2001
Sonny reassures Alexis that the only reason Zander ran was to go find Emily. They decide to believe that he is going to come back after he retrieve Emily from boarding school in California. Carly shows up and neither wants to tell her the truth.

January 18, 2001
WARDROBE: navy blue low cut blazer; blue shirt; tight black pants. Stefan shows up and Alexis tells him not to worry about Gia. Alexis implores him to tell Nikolas the truth about his "death" because if someone else tells him first, he'll never forgive him. Alexis embraces Stefan. Ned shows up and yells at Alexis, telling her that he endangered Emily's life because of her. She sympathizes but he says he doesn't need her sympathy -- he just needs Emily home.

January 19, 2001
Ned tells Alexis that for him, their relationship comes first, but for her it's consistently last. He leaves in a snit and she couldn't care less. Lucky shows up to berate her; he tells her that all she cares about is her career. Alexis heads to the hospital to see Sonny and Carly. She's informed that Taggert already came by to toss a few threats in Sonny's direction. She says he's just blowing smoke.

January 22, 2001
WARDROBE: leather coat. Alexis shows up at the penthouse to see Sonny but finds Carly instead. Neither woman knows where Sonny got to. Carly tells Alexis things would be fine if she didn't always make things complicated.

January 29, 2001
WARDROBE: navy suit w/ buttons on front; sleeves; pockets. Alexis is surprised when Ned shows up. Ned tells her he loves her. She says she loves him so much sometimes she's just afraid she'll disappear. She realizes he shaved his goatee. When Roy shows up, Ned leaves in a huff. Roy says he needs a favor. She reminds him of the last time she needed a favor from him, and how he wasn't willing to do it. He wants some court records sealed but won't really say why.

January 31, 2001
Alexis gets a phone call from Zander and learns he's back in town and has been arrested. She tells him to shut up and Taggert says they're at the Qs. Alexis shows up. She shows up at Sonny's and updates him on Zander. She asks if he'll post bail again. "It's a good thing we're on the same side, otherwise you'd be terrifying". Alexis shows up at the Qs and argues with Taggert. Alexis and Ned argue some more. He tells her he doesn't think she's ready for a relationship with him or anybody else.

February 6, 2001
WARDROBE: camel-colored coat; plum suit. Alexis tells Sonny they have urgent business. They go to the PCPD to get Zander. Alexis asks Mac if they're going to need vests for the sidewalk outside. Afterwards, she shows up at Kelly's and chats with Tammy. Ned arrives and tells her they have some business issues to discuss. He tells her to be sure to send him a bill for her time. Alexis shows up at Sonny's in the midst of a panic attack. She tells Sonny that Ned dumped her and it's ruining her life and it may be ruining his. Alexis says she thinks she's in trouble and asks what he thinks. Chloe and Ned and Sonny and Alexis have a back & forth post-mortem on relationships.

February 7, 2001
Ned meets up with Alexis at the Grille and they reminisce without eye contact.

February 8, 2001
Alexis updates Chloe about the state of her love life. Chloe tells Alexis that she and Ned are clearly in love and suggests she do something about it before it's too late. Ned shows up and Chloe lectures both of them. They both agree their relationship is over.

February 14, 2001
WARDROBE: chocolate brown pinstriped suit; brown paisley blouse. Chloe arranges for Ned and Alexis to revisit the Grille -- decorated as it was when they first met, five years earlier. They're on the brink of working things out but when she gets a phone call he realizes her job will always come first. Montage: "This Could Be Heaven" by Seal.

February 20, 2001
Wardrobe: camel-colored coat; black boots; black shiny suit. Jason and Sonny are being interrogated when Alexis shows up. Jason and Sonny are released. Alexis places her hand on Jason's shoulder. Alexis suggests Mac worry about his own job. Later, Nikolas asks Alexis to try to become trustee again. He announces he's petitioning for Alexis to be trustee.

February 22, 2001
Zander tells Alexis she should call Ned. He says that she's pretty cool. Ned shows up to get his things. She asks if he needs a box. She asks if he wants to watch the fireworks with her. He doesn't. WARDROBE: camel-colored coat. Alexis watches the fireworks alone.

February 28, 2001
WARDROBE: royal blue blouse; brown knee-length skirt. Sonny informs Alexis that he remarried Carly. She tells him that Zander is solid on their testimony.

March 2, 2001
WARDROBE: black gathered dress. "Look at me, I'm a baby-sitter!," she says, narrowing her left eye at Carly. She maintains she doesn't want to go. He tells her she looks good and helps her on with her coat; his hands are on her shoulders. They head to the Deception launch party. They arrive at the party and his hands is on her back. She says, "What do I look like? Lou Cabrizzi? Don't answer that". Alexis tells Sonny she wants to leave. She's told to take a deep breath. Ned shows up and they argue. Alexis tells Sonny her rate just tripled.

March 8, 2001
Alexis runs into Mac in the park. He can't get away from her fast enough. She asks why and he confirms he quit his job. Alexis realizes what this means to the Sorel case and she berates him. She tells him she does understand though. She returns to her apartment.
