w/Ned, Jax, Chloe. Alexis, Chloe, Jax and Ned decide upon finding Gertrude a husband. They come up with the idea of fixing up Alan with Gertrude.

December 14, 1999
WARDROBE: powder-blue blazer w/pockets; black buttoned blouse. Alexis instructs Stefan to worry about himself -- not Laura. The tests prove inconclusive so no one's being charged with Katherine's murder. Alexis leaves. Alexis runs into Jax on the docks just after he's said good-bye to his brother, possibly forever. She offers comfort; they walk away together in silence.

December 15, 1999
WARDROBE: black long wraparound skirt/pants; indigo silk blouse. Jax gets a call about his brother; he doesn't tell Alexis that's what it was about; she doesn't press him. "Wrong number," they conclude. Alexis takes the lease to Ned who kisses her on the table; she squeals.

December 17, 1999
WARDROBE: mint off-the-shoulder sweater; charcoal pants. The Ashtons tell Jax about their plan to marry Gertrude off. Jax, intrigued by the plan wonders who the proposed groom will be. Upon learning it's Sonny's father, he grins. w/Chloe, Ned, Jax, Mike. When Mike is told about the plan he balks initially but then decides to hear them out. Alexis, Chloe, Jax and Ned describe Gertrude to Mike. When Mike agrees, they welcome him. When Alexis produces a sprig of mistletoe, Ned kisses her enthusiastically.

December 20, 1999
WARDROBE: black velvet dress. "The Courtship of Gertrude". Mike's practice date elicits advice (and laughs) from Alexis, Chloe, Jax and Ned. The practice date is successful and Mike is congratulated. Gertrude shows up and Chloe introduces her to Mike. Gertrude is utterly charmed by Mike. After the date, Mike is told he was magnificent. He tells them his rates just skyrocketed.

December 21, 1999
WARDROBE: gray jacket (mid-hip length), scarf w/silver tassels; black pants; white tank top; white sweater. Alexis tells Ned she can't think in a funky room so she'll have to decorate her own office. Ned is upset when Alexis tells him of the meeting she just had with the FBI.

December 23, 1999
Alexis, Chloe, Jax and Ned spy on the date in progress between Gertrude and Mike. The date's going well until Mike's real love interest Tammy shows up. Alexis, Chloe, Jax and Ned try to head Tammy off at the pass. Mike tells Gertrude that Jax is a well-known lothario who could easily break up her niece's marriage. Alexis stops cold when she hears this. Ned interrupts Mike's date. Alexis freaks out because she thinks Gertrude's known the truth all along.

December 24, 1999
WARDROBE: red skirt, white camisole, white sheer blouse w/lace; red bracelet. Jax and Alexis are decorating for John and Lady Jane's visit when Ned and Chloe show up. Montage: "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" by Dave Koz plays as first Ned and Alexis, then Jax and Chloe kiss.

December 28, 1999
WARDROBE: chocolate brown blazer and skirt; pink shirt. Alexis bursts through the door of L&B breathlessly talking about the conspiracy which was perpetuated upon her -- they made her run six blocks in heels. Ned can't believe Jax' plan to celebrate the millennium in four different time zones with Chloe. Mike shows up and Ned pays him to take care of Gertrude on New Year's Eve, despite his protestations. Ned and Alexis discuss how boring they are compared to Jax and Chloe. They begin to kiss passionately when Juan walks in and tells them that Ned's car is being sprayed with salt. Ned says he'll take it to the car wash right now and Alexis silently plans to accompany him on this rendezvous.

January 3, 2000
Ned and Alexis are relaxing in bed after having made love, when her cell phone rings. Reluctantly, she answers it, only to find out she has to go down to the PCPD to bail Jason out of jail. WARDROBE: lilac sweater. Alexis meets Roy DiLucca for the first time. When asked why she's there, she says she asks herself that question each time she receives a call from Frick and Frack. Alexis returns to the hotel room and pounces on Ned who pretends to be sleeping. He wakes up and they kiss passionately. WARDROBE: long black skirt; gray sweater; white blouse. Alexis yells at a guy on the phone and then Helena walks in. Alexis tells Helena in her dreams she groveled -- she implores her to say "pretty please". Alexis returns home only to find Chloe and Jax in bed. After she implores Jax to leave, Alexis remarks to Chloe that her husband is cheating on her. Chloe and Alexis wonder if they are jealous of the relationship the other has with the man they love. Alexis asks Ned if he watches championship wrestling.

January 5, 2000
WARDROBE: red buttoned shirt, red shirt underneath. Alexis is surprised to find there's no bodyguard at Sonny's door. She tells him the next time that he wants his attorney present, he ought not to send his bodyguard away. Sonny gives Alexis a bottle of water. He asks "What is Alexis about?". He then tells her, "You've got an interesting mind. Too bad access is limited". Taggert shows up. Alexis asks Taggert not to threaten Sonny. Taggert leaves. Sonny tells Alexis that Hannah was an FBI agent. Sonny, hurt, asks Alexis if she finds it funny that Hannah betrayed him. She says, "Do I seem amused to you?" She leaves, seemingly sad that her friend was taken advantage of.

January 7, 2000
WARDROBE: Hot Pink BCBG Maxaria sweater set; matching skirt. Ned announces that with Mike out of the running, he's had to choose a new groom for Gertrude. Ned outlines the plan to marry Gertrude off to Alan. Alexis deadpans, "Weren't you married to Monica once?" At the Quartermaine party, Alexis, Chloe, Jax and Ned greet a group of acquaintances and strangers. Alexis, Chloe, Jax and Ned try to convince Alan to marry Gertrude. Alexis congratulates Ned on his ability to play hardball with Alan. At the party "Carlybabes" makes her debut as Alexis, Chloe, Jax and Ned look on. The four of them try to distract the other guests from Carlybabes.

January 14, 2000
Alexis and Ned outline the plan to the Doctors Quartermaine. Ned informs Alan he needs to be sexy. He offers to send Alexis and Chloe out on a trial date with him but Monica declines the offer on his behalf saying she's been married to him long enough he doesn't need a trial date.

January 18, 2000
Helena and Stefan enter the room. Ned and Alexis realize they'll not have a chance to be alone. Ned instructs her to pretend he's kissing her neck. When Stefan shows up, Ned exits. Stefan informs Alexis "we're your family". Alexis states that only applies when he wants something from her.

January 19, 2000
WARDROBE: Gray cargo skirt; pale pink satin blouse and matching tank top; black boots. Alexis quips to Jax, "I support equal-opportunity cheating". Alexis is alone at the apartment when Chloe shows up and says she's not sure the timing is right for her and Jax. Chloe explains about her and Jax and Alexis tells her friend "love looks very good on you". Alexis tells Chloe to trust herself about her feelings for Jax.

January 20, 2000
WARDROBE: wraparound gold blouse, red/gold tank top; knee-length red skirt. Ned informs Alexis that Jason's left town permanently with Michael and that AJ is heir-apparent now. Ned tells Alexis the joke's on AJ who's stuck with Carly, after all.

January 26, 2000
WARDROBE: long light-gray dress. During lunch at the PC Grille Ned deliberately drops a piece of paper and feels Alexis up underneath the table. Ned and Alexis try to pretend they're not having lunch for the sole purpose of eavesdropping on Gertrude. When Edward shows up at the Grille, Alexis panics but Ned says this is perfect. Feeling they're being watched, Ned shakes Alexis' hand and tells her to consider herself kissed. Alexis tells Helena she's learned about her insidious plot to wreak havoc and that her latest could well be her last. Alexis tells Helena, "The empress has no clothes".

January 27, 2000
WARDROBE: silver satin big-collared blouse, long black blazer, matching pants. (note: this is the outfit worn on the "Soap Opera Weekly" cover dated February 1, 2000). Helena shows up at L&B. Alexis pretends to know more than she actually does, which scares Helena as Ned eavesdrops. Once Ned makes his presence known, Helena encourages him to take a hike. Ned, on the other hand, wishes the same for her. Before she leaves, she says "You're toast, Alexis". (note: Constance Towers stated this was one of her most memorable scenes as she had trouble getting through it with a straight face). Ned discusses how desperate L&B is for a sudden influx of cash. AJ shows up. AJ tries to threaten Ned but it falls flat. Alexis tells Ned that they can take care of each other's families. He likes that idea.

January 28, 2000
WARDROBE: brown hat; brown turtleneck, brown leather coat, jeans. Alexis and Chloe joke about their plan to fool Gertrude's spies for the day. She then tells Chloe she wants her coat back.

February 1, 2000
WARDROBE: black slip. Alexis and Ned, in bed, discuss how great it is to get away together in this manner. Ned and Alexis are about to make love again when her phone rings and she learns that Chloe's been hit by a car. WARDROBE: red blouse, jeans, light brown coat. Alexis learns that the car that hit Chloe didn't appear to try to stop. Alexis wants to know if Chloe's accident was an accident at all or if it was on purpose -- and she was the real target. Alexis tells the men that anyone could have mistaken Chloe for her. Alexis is still visibly upset about Chloe's accident; Jax goes in to see Chloe.

February 2, 2000
Alexis is handed Chloe's clothes and is visibly upset. Alexis announces that Helena's gotten away with a lifetime of pain. Alexis asks what they want to do about the whole marriage facade. Alexis gives Taggert Chloe's clothes. Alexis tells Taggert of Helena's motives. Chloe wakes up and wants to know what Jax looks like. Taggert tells Alexis that Helena may well be guilty.

February 7, 2000
WARDROBE: long gray tweed sweater/coat; lavender skirt; sweater. Alexis tells Chloe she's brought her truffles. She asks for bittersweet. Chloe tells Alexis they can't both feel sorry for her. Alexis asks what the timeline is on the swelling after 72 hours. Chloe insists that Ned and Alexis go do something fun.

February 9, 2000
WARDROBE: plum buttoned suit. Alexis tells Chloe that being out of ICU is a good sign. Chloe says she'd prefer to be alone. Ned and Jax argue over what's best for Chloe. She eavesdrops and it culminates in her smashing into a table and knocking over a vase. Alexis and Ned are discussing Chloe's options when Dara shows up to give them an update on the case.

February 14, 2000
WARDROBE: red shirt; black skirt. It's decided that Valentine's Day should be spent with the people they love. Jax gives Alexis and Ned an acre of rainforest. Alexis and Ned listen to the rainforest on the sound machine. Alexis looks at the ring from Ned and begins to silently freak out.

February 15, 2000
WARDROBE: chocolate brown suit w/ short skirt. Nikolas apologizes. Alexis tells him he doesn't officially take over the estate until he's 25. Alexis and Nikolas run Helena out of L&B and Alexis asks, "Doesn't she just make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?" Stefan shows up at L&B to tell her that Lucky's alive.

February 16, 2000
Alexis asks if Stefan's sure that Lucky's alive. He says yes. Alexis can't believe Stefan hasn't told Laura that her son's alive and encourages him to do so. Stefan lists reasons why he doesn't want to tell Laura; Alexis surmises this will blow up in his face. Alexis tells Ned that Stefan wants her help. Ned tells Alexis there's been no word on Chloe.

February 18, 2000
WARDROBE: white sweater; white tank top; black 3/4 length skirt; white coat. Chloe finds the couch after coaching from the others. A toast is made to Chloe. Sonny tells her that he needs to know his rights in regard to his child. When Alexis learns he knocked up Carly she exclaims, "What the hell were you thinking? To be clear, I'm not even sure I want to take on the case." Sonny states, "The responsibility is mine. This kid has a right to my love, to everything I can give it. I've been fighting all my life, but never for something that's important as this. I know what it's like to grow up without your father, in an unwanted home, as an outsider. The Quartermaines are willing (he stands up and begins pacing) to raise my kid like a stray puppy, if it means holding onto Michael. That's the situation that I'm not gonna let happen. Now, I'm responsible for conceiving this child, which means I'm responsible for raising it, giving it love, and whatever else it needs. But I will tell you something right now. I will do whatever it takes to make it safe for my child." Alexis tells Sonny, "You have possibilities".
