Stefan tells her, "You broke my heart." He goes
on to say "you will not come back". Alexis begs
him not to send her away. Alexis asks him to let her explain.
He throws her out. She looks inside as it rains but he's
not letting her back in.
November 24, 1997
On the docks, she tells Ned she's taking in the view. "My
relationship with Stefan is irrevocably finished. I savaged
a member of my own family. How much worse does it have to
get?" Ned tells her she needs a friend. "Stefan
threw me out for purely personal reasons". Ned asks
her to let him take her home.

Alexis takes a breath and sounds rather sardonic as she
says, "I didn't." (she flips open her appointment
book) "I woke up this morning and looked at my appointment
book -- just like I do every morning to review what's ahead
for me and," (sarcastically, but sad) "it turns
out that I... am...free." (she crosses off things on
her calendar as she recites the following) "I won't
be making preparations for Greece. I'm not making final
arrangements with Wheeler, the attorney from Mercy Hospital.
I'm not representing the Cassadine interests in any legal
matters. I'm not representing anyone!" (pause) "Not
even myself." Alexis: "No, that won't be necessary,"
(almost laughing) "because they were delivered by messenger
at the crack of dawn right down to the last paper clip."
(beat) "Stefan wants to make sure I don't darken his
door again." (looking lost and intense) "He has
always been my friend. We have always fought on the same
side of every battle, and I don't know how I'm ever going
to think of him as my enemy." She tells Nikolas, "I
couldn't let him make the worst mistake of his life".

WARDROBE: Gray overcoat w/black collar; big black heels;
plum sheer ruffled blouse; black tank top. Alexis has flashbacks
on the docks of the confrontation with Stefan. Luke shows
up and says he'd be happy to row her over. Alexis tells
him to get some new sources; he calls her little sister.
Alexis asks why he just called her that. Luke says "You
are more a Cassadine than anyone knows". Luke says
"It was nice talking to you, Natasha". Alexis
says that Natasha was the daughter of the murdered woman
who used to wear this ring.

Luke is surprised that Alexis only got as far as to know
her mother's name was Nillson, not Bergman. Luke says, "Oh
no, she was much more than a governess, Alexis. Her career
in the public eye lasted only about a decade. And she never
achieved the global fame of, say, Maria Callas. But Kristin
Bergmann... she was big. In fact, anyone who ever saw her
perform never forgot it." (pause) "Now, why did
she change the name from Nillson, you might ask? Well, one
of the reasons could be that there was a famous opera soprano
at the time named Bergette Nillson. But I tend to think
the real reason is that Mikkos was doing everything he could
to try and hide her from Helena. And he was successful for
a while. (pause) "Now this is the cool part. In the
1950s, in Stockholm, there were these hand, passed out circulars,
and also dropped from by-planes there were, all these circulars.
And they read something like, 'You are cordially invited
to a performance of Tosca at the Royal Swedish Opera House.'
And the dates were September 14th through the 20th. One
week only. And the admission was free." (pause) "Well,
I mean, it was fantastic. The art community of Stockholm
and also, you know, most of northern Europe was very suspicious.
I mean, apparently, some unknown producer had, in effect,
rented the royal opera house for a week, and he was presenting
a production that had never been seen before with a lead
actress that no one knew. And he wasn't charging anything
for it. It was outrageous. It looked like exactly what it
was: a very wealthy, excessive, old psycho in love with
a beautiful, talented young woman. And he wanted to give
her a great stage to sing some great tunes on." Alexis
listens, completely enthralled by the story. Luke says "He
may have not even known how talented she was. But the critics
did. And the art world stood up and took notice. And in
fact, the lore is, they say, that opening night of Tosca,
just before the final curtain, when she sings her aria and
then throws herself off the parapet, people actually jumped
up screaming because they thought she had... she had really
killed herself. This is the kind of spell she had woven.
And when the curtain came down on the audience, there was...
they went nuts. It was like a riot erupted, until the curtain
went back up and people saw she was okay. And she took her
bow. She was fantastic! And, you know, after that her career
soared for about ten years. She was on every major opera
stage." Luke asks if she remembers her mother; she'd
have been about four when she died. She says no and asks
what he plans to make her do. w/Ned. Alexis calls Ned who
knows something happened and asks her what it was. Alexis
tells him he must think she's lost her mind.

WARDROBE: navy v-neck dress. Alexis tells Ned, "I didn't
think you had an office". Ned tells Alexis, "When
Stefan comes back, make him pay". Luke makes a few
base remarks about Kristen and Alexis asks him if it occurred
to him that the woman he's talking about is her mother.
Alexis tells Luke, "You see I'm not a murderer."
Luke says, "My experience is that Vlad the Impaler
doesn't like it when someone sticks it to him."
December
9, 1997
WARDROBE: black blazer; blouse w/ Mandarin collar. At the
hospital Alexis asks Luke what he's doing there. Stefan
is unhappy that Alexis signed for Nikolas' surgery. Stefan
tells Alexis to stay away. "I thought the policy was
family only". "You could pretend I'm invisible.
Everybody else does" Alexis asks Tony if they had an
appointment. Bobbie says Nikolas is fine. With Tony, Alexis
says, "It would be one thing if Carly were certifiable
but that's not the case".
December
19, 1997
WARDROBE: royal blue suit w/skirt. Luke shows up with Kristin's
tape. Alexis asks what Luke wants. Alexis tells Luke he's
about as easy to read as a flare gun. Luke leaves and Alexis
puts the tape in and listens to her mother sing with a haunting
smile on her face. She sits down and looks intensely proud
that she is somehow connected to this heavenly voice. Then
she looks deeply sad and reaches for the ring on her necklace
which she holds close to her while rocking back and forth....like
a child being rocked by her mother. Stefan won't let Alexis
see Nikolas. Alexis returns to her suite and finds her mother's
tape playing. Helena is in the suite. Helena implores her,
"Tell me all that you have learned."
December
22, 1997
Alexis to Helena: "I feel no connection to that woman."
Luke asks where Helena is. "That means you're dessert
-- I'm the main course." Alexis says she could hardly
breathe. "He wanted to see his mother." Luke implores
Alexis, "Throw in with me."
December
23, 1997
WARDROBE: tan suit with three tan buttons. Luke tells her
that her options are limited: "Death, death, or an
alliance with me." "The hospital co-counsel's
a full-time job." Alexis: "I won't turn against
my own family."
December
24, 1997
WARDROBE: Brown Blazer. Alexis confronts Stefan. "There
is a Natasha and she's me. I know it's difficult to believe.
Call me a liar or call me your sister. Every word is true,"
Alexis tells him. "If you don't protect me, she'll
slaughter me," Alexis begs. Alexis tells Tony she takes
cases to win. "Don't waste a minute. Let me know what
Felicia finds out." Alexis watches Nikolas at the hospital.
January
7, 1998
WARDROBE: Plum sheer vined blouse. Tony tells her that he's
not the father and that Carly skipped town. Ned shows up.
"I never cease to marvel at your capacity for self-sacrifice."
"Are we having an affair?" She says they'll try.
Ned tries to cheer her up.
January
9, 1998
Luke tells her that Stefan will forgive her. "Goodbye
Natasha," he says sadly.
January 20, 1998
WARDROBE: Maroon suit w/black collar. "You lost Justus?"
"It's comforting that my family isn't the only one
who wants to kill one another," says Alexis. "Chief
counsel of ELQ was not on my list of things to be when I
grew up." "I never sign contracts when there's
music playing."
January
21, 1998
"A kidnapper with a David Niven complex." "Watching
me force down a meal won't really accomplish anything."
"Chocolate soufflé perhaps? My favorite."
"There is no chance that she and I will ever become
friends." "What guarantee do I have?"
January
28, 1998
She tells Ned, "I don't want to be seen. Is that Stefan?
Don't tell him I'm here." Later, she sees Katherine.
"I do have something to offer you. Please, Katherine,
consider this an opportunity." She tells Helena, "Katherine
is difficult to predict and not easy."
February
3, 1998
WARDROBE: Chocolate brown suit; black fur collar; glasses.
Alexis is at Michael's christening, talking to Tony. "...by
christening this child with the name of Sonny. The baby
is safe, healthy." "How could the courts look
on a mother that refuses physical contact?" "I
admit a mother refusing contact with her child could be
seen as negligent."
February
5, 1998
WARDROBE: black coat; black velvet vines. Helena and Alexis
talk. "Give it to Katherine." She asks Katherine,
"Is something wrong? There are no strings attached."
Ned and Alexis talk. "He - it's rapidly improving."
"Alexis and I are going down to the Grille." Leaving
party.
February
10, 1998
Ned and Alexis have a conversation. "This is a service."
"These are really good. That was direct." "I'm
not sure I appreciate being referred to as a problem to
be solved." Ned and Alexis kiss goodnight.
